Helen's quest for good health!

Just a quick post as just got in from work and up again at 4.30am for an Early shift and still need to listen to my pods.

Positives for today:
1) I ate healthily and enjoyed it
2) I did some exercise
3) I stayed calm and chilled with my workload even with shadow

Been a busy girl the last couple of days hence why I haven't had a chance to come on here, Saturday after my early we went straight to the campsite my step daughter was staying on and spent the evening playing with Jake & Evie, I had so much fun and didn't want to come home, I love camping and wanted to stay.. Also Mark might have come to the realisation that he actually would enjoy to go camping.. Maybe!

Yesterday I was a 14 1/2 hour shift, was really busy as we were short staffed so only had 25 minute break all day and felt exhausted by the end, also didn't have time to heat my dinner so had to wait until I got home at 9pm and I was starving!

Today we're both off and we want to make the most of the good weather so we're going to go for a walk along the river at Marlow and then lay on the side reading and relaxing (well that's the plan!) so should hopefully be able to catch up with your diaries then so hope you're all well.

I'm having a bit of a problem with the slimpods too and want to see if anyone else has the same, I go to bed to listen but end up falling asleep as by the time I finish work at night or if I have an early the next day I am so exhausted I can't help it, I was told it didn't really matter if you fall asleep as your ears still are listening however I keep waking up with a jump at a certain point and almost scream as I am so frightened, last night I had a bit of an accident I was that scared, am I just weird or does anyone else have this problem?!

I've been trying to listen in the mornings too but don't always have time, only if I'm off or a Late shift, not sure what to do as its freaking me out! X

mmmm I seem to remember someone else saying that. I had it a little in the beginning but not to that extent

I would slot them in while awake then Helen. One at a time at various times during the day so as not to affect life too much. ie listen while cooking tea, cleaning up, having a cuppa. They are only 10 mins each and it can be done. I often do this huni :hug99: xxxxxxxxxx

I'm liking your idea of doing them whilst doing other things, going to try that, I did manage to actually listen last night without falling asleep as I wasn't as tired as usual and went to bed about 9.30pm. It is quite frightening but then that's me, easily frightened!

I love Marlow though if I'm honest the most I've seen of it is
the Rebellion brewery lol
Merry Monday Helen x

Loving the fact all you've seen is the brewery!
Ended up going to Wallingford instead though x

Had such a fab day with hubby, we didn't go to Marlow as I remembered Wallingford and Mark had never been before, we literally laid a blanket on the ground and read, chatted, people watched and ate a picnic.. Oh and updated our whereabouts on Facebook as he insisted and didn't have his phone on him!! Rest of the time phone was away so didn't get to catch up on here but will today.

It was so relaxing but wish I'd taken my costume, I didn't bother as knew outside pool would be packed due summer holidays but people were swimming in the river and I was so jealous.

We were there for hours and when we'd had enough lazing around on the river bank we went to the pub on the river and lazed some more, it was nice and hot but a lovely breeze as I usually get fed up in the sun and I loved it. We realised we'd been there for hours, thank goodness we'd put in for 8 hours parking and only just made it back!

Mark said he couldn't be bothered to cook the BBQ we had planned so we went to our local and sat in the garden there, after eating healthy food all day I was naughty and had the steak burger but I have to say it was absolutely gorgeous so don't regret it! The only thing that could possibly be on plan was the steak but at £18 there was no way I was having that as we weren't out for a "proper" meal and the salad didn't sound good as it had feta and guacamole so I thought sod it I'll have the burger! Sat there for a few hours and then wandered home so happy.

I love it when we get a day off together to enjoy ourselves, today we're both off and we'll be chilling in the garden, might be too hot though as apparently it's going to be 30c here today and we don't get a breeze so we'll see how long I last doing nothing today.. At home I'm always tempted to get up and do odd things hence why we went out yesterday! X

I've been trying to follow slimpods but with meals cooked SW style, if I keep gaining though I might have to go back to SW and use pods to limit my portion sizes as I do tend to feel full it's just I'm still picking naughty things but think that's because I can!

Were you on Night's when you nearly blew it? I've got Nights this weekend and it really mucks my body clock up, food wise and everything, really don't know how you do them so often x

That's true they tend to be busy which keeps me awake, sometimes it goes quiet about 2am but depends on if we've got any delays or the outstations are organised and send us their stuff on time.

I'll try to get a chance to chat to you this time if I can! Start work at 2.30pm on Friday and don't finish until 7pm Saturday morning so not really looking forward to it, don't usually mind doing Doubles during the day but hate them at night.
