Helen's quest for good health!

if you think the milk is upsetting you have you tried the kara milk substitute you can have HUGE amounts for a healthy a
and it makes a delicious hot choc too (I use cocoa powder)

hope you have a lovely day today
with no negative staff - you are right though eating in front of others is a mine field

You're probably right unless shift works killing us both at the mo! X

Mmm no I haven't measured lately but clothes aren't feeling very different, will measure in next couple of days and see what they say.. Mind you my neighbour saw me in my gym kit the other day and said wow you can really see the difference, I guess it's because they were figure hugging so I must be getting there x

Thanks I'll have to check what food I get vitamin B in x

Haven't really had much protein rich food today I don't think so that's not a good start! Tried out a green day today and have ended with a lovely hot chocolate I'm just getting into bed with as I'm chilly.

Today some guy cracked me up, I had wrote down what food I'd eaten today and had it on my desk and under dinner had wrote "BNS risotto (HEA)" well at work HEA means a Heavy container, he found the list and said "you've eaten a AKH?! WTF you've eaten a Heavy" and kept laughing and then said "what is this", proceeded to grab my list and said "well that's not very healthy, I was impressed with your food until I saw you'd had a fry up for breakfast, naughty, naughty", I then explained it was all fried in fry light and he queried the bacon, I then had to explain all the fat was cut off.

Sat there after he'd gone back to his desk and thought to myself that's why I don't like eating in front of other people because they judge and I end up having to justify myself, I then said "do you think my diet is bad then?" he said no and thinks he should do the same and snack on fruit rather than keep buying chocolate!

Well in the time it's taken to type that my tummy's playing up, guessing must be the milk or I have just come on grrr!

I bloody hate that Helen....

The should you be eaten that brigade get right on my chuffing t*ts

Sorry I want to reply to you all but I'm sat in the toilets crying I'm in so much pain today with my hip, just don't know what to do with myself, so fed up, don't want to go back to my desk with my eyes all red, I just want it all to go away

Oh darling I know I cant take it away - but I do think I know the sort of pain you mean (but mine was knee) so I can fully understand how it could bring you to tears
so wish I could do something for you
does warmth or ice help if so a wheaty bag at work in the freezer or to pop in the microwave would be good

do you have anywhere you can lay down for a bit - first aid station etc
you should go home no one should work in that amount of pain - even a trip to a and e would be good

Thanks everyone for your support, sorry I had a meltdown on here, just was completely fed up.

Although I was in pain I think I was just getting myself down, even though I had the accident at work a year ago last week I still go to work, the time I've had off is a few days here and there when it's been particularly bad or been in hospital having cortisone injections or MRI etc. so in total 30 days over a year.

I said to Lisa earlier a girl fell in the toilets and managed to right herself, I'm not saying she's not in pain but I completely stacked it, both legs left the ground, I landed on my back with my left leg completely twisted and my knee also hit the ground yet she's been signed off for 6 weeks and wants to sue for as much money as possible! I just want to sue to get back my shift pay and what I've spent out on medicine and treatment, probably about 1.5K in total and that's only because my managed advised me to as says I should'nt be out of pocket.

Another girl has been off for 8 weeks with a broken ankle and is now on short hours, I've never done short hours! I just feel like I've done everything I can and perhaps I should have just had loads of time off etc. but that's not me and because I smile it doesn't mean I'm not in pain it just means I don't want to dwell on it so people think I'm better, today my DM said he hadn't realised I was still in pain.. Yes everyday!

Thats all on top of the letter a few weeks ago from cleaners saying it doesn't look like I'm in pain and occupational health who think I was off sick 9 months after accident! I just think it all got too much and just broke down.

Sorry I try not to let these things get me down and hate moaning to you all, thanks again everyone x

Don't be silly! No need to apologise - you have every right to be upset. :bighug:

Helen... That's what we are here for to vent, come on, how many times have I aired my woes on my own thread... What you are suffering through and having to put up with is exactly why so many people claim for the smallest injury... Yours by comparison was major, and you need to fight on... But we all have days when it gets to us not least when you are in pain... Please don't apologize... I just hope your pain eases and you get the justice you rightly deserve... Sending lots of hugs and best wishes... xx

Helen if you can vent in the safety of your own diary amongst people who care and respect you where can you

I am so sorry you are having to go through with this
I too never took time off when others around me were off for very minor things even though due to pain I have to get a taxi to work and home
in the end I was unfairly dismissed - go figure

so do what you need to do to get you well take off time if you need to etc you obviously cant go on in that much pain for much longer - go back to the gp and keep going back until you do get some answers

I agree Helen... Dont feel the need to apoligies no wonder you had a mini meltdown with the added pressure of it all
I'd like to say that eventually the other two in similar situ's that have milked it will get there just desserts but unfortunately some people are just damn clever at playing the situtation
I once had a nasty fall in one of our car parks and needed to take a couple of weeks off and at the time didnt get paid... Not being racial but an Indian driver did the same a couple of weeks later and got paid for all his time off needless to say ....I sought legal advice and after a hoo-ha was fully paid... Its taught me a valued lesson always stick up for your rights ...

Thanks H, I'm sorry to hear you were unfairly dismissed, that's horrible to hear.

My consultant has sustained an injury and not sure when he'll be back so don't know when I'll next see him, when I saw the Registrar he said he wanted me to have an operation but I asked him not to send form in until I'd seen the consultant again in case there's another option rather than surgery so it's a waiting game.

Seeing independent consultant tomorrow at Harley Street so not sure what happens there but guessing he'll just assess me and send a report to my solicitor x

Feeling better now, just all got too much earlier, Mark very kindly thought he'd buy tonight's dinner (even though I was going to have jacket spud!) and Saturday's dinner whilst in M&S and pick me up some travel brochures to try and pick where we're going to go to cheer me up.

Was intending to be totally on plan but he picked up beef & potatoes in Yorkshire pudding for tonight and it wasn't worth the 19 syns! Saturday we've got some chicken thing in pastry which looks like its going to be heavily synned with millionaires dessert for afters...

So tomorrow we're out for lunch before I see consultant and then Mark wants a kebab from an amazing Turkish restaurant in Soho for dinner so not sure how I'm going to stay within syns but as promised I will post despite how potentially high it could be.

But on a plus note... I lost a 1lb tonight.. Yippee! Really pleased with that x

Thursday 13th August - Extra Easy (D shift)

Breakfast: BLT (HEB + 0.5)

Lunch: salmon (0.5), salad

Dinner: M&S meat and potato yorkshire pudding (19.0), 1 tbsp horseradish (1.5)

Snacks: nectarine, prawns (sorry Lisa!)

Drinks: squash, water

Total syns: 21.5 (suppose not too bad for a post weigh in day!)

Aww glad marks looking after you, put your feet up and if you need to take time off work take it!! I'm the same when I got pushed over at work and hit my head quite badly, I finished the shift and was back next day yet others will stub there toe and you won't see them for weeks!!!

Well done on the loss and relatively low synnage on wi day :)

Morning Helen...
Well done on the pound off... I am glad you feel a little better... As for going off plan, I wouldn't worry as Steve says sometimes it just has to be done... Have a good weekend...

just wondering how you feel today - sometimes you can seize up after a night of laying quite still
hopefully you can keep the pain at bay for today = take things gently - you should not have to live with that amount of pain
