Aww glad marks looking after you, put your feet up and if you need to take time off work take it!! I'm the same when I got pushed over at work and hit my head quite badly, I finished the shift and was back next day yet others will stub there toe and you won't see them for weeks!!!

Well done on the loss and relatively low synnage on wi day :)

Made me laugh that someone would stub there toe and be off, some people hey! Thing is we don't get any thanks for soldering on do we?! X

Morning Helen...
Well done on the pound off... I am glad you feel a little better... As for going off plan, I wouldn't worry as Steve says sometimes it just has to be done... Have a good weekend...

I do feel better, in pain but feel better mentally and had a good day today x

just wondering how you feel today - sometimes you can seize up after a night of laying quite still
hopefully you can keep the pain at bay for today = take things gently - you should not have to live with that amount of pain

Thanks hunny, couldn't take things easy as been up London seeing consultant but on train heading back so intend to have a bath and then bed as up at 3.30 tomorrow x

Good... I am pleased to hear that...xx

I'm warning you now that I think this might be a long post so pull up a chair and grab yourself a cuppa or swap to another thread before I bore you!

Been up town to see consultant today, thought we'd make a day of it and have lunch and a few drinks, thought I'd try and make fairly good choices and I did.. Sort of, but pleased with what I had.

So we started off going to Sherlocks Bar & Grill on Baker Street, lovely place and I chose to have just main course, asked for red snapper without the butter but with vine tomatoes and mixed salad but forgot to ask for no dressing and just had soda water and lime.

Now for the important bit, what we went up there for! Was so nervous about seeing the consultant but I shouldn't have been as he was lovely, examined me, cannot believe no firm diagnosis after a year, says my "sunny disposition" has probably not made people hurry but I must be in pain and he sympathises, says he can't do the final report for solicitor as need my consultant to confirm everything.

He seems to think I have nerve damage in my back and also early onset arthritis with the potential of needing a hip replacement at an early age, he said he's surprised I wasn't showing symptoms before but the fall must have brought the symptoms on so he'd have to stand up in court and say when he thought I'd have started getting pain anyway.

He asked Mark to come in too and explained everything to him and he says I really need to push the consultant as its not good enough but without going private it's waiting for NHS appointments.

So all in all a bit worrying but I feel at least someone believes how much pain I'm in, even when I spoke to my mum afterwards she said "I didn't realise you were in that much pain?", I just try not to talk about it and only tend to moan when it's particularly bad, it hurts everyday which would explain it if it is arthritis. Poor you lot get me moaning about it all the time!

We then went to Leicester Square for a couple of drinks and then to Mark's favourite kebab place on the way home, I had one drink and then asked for no naan with kebab and had rice & salad instead.. But did give in to the complimentary bread and humous and couple of bits of Turkish delight afterwards!

On train heading back, aching but that's to be expected as we did lots of walking and also he was playing with my leg so looking forward to my bed x

Friday 14th September (OFF)

So going to attempt updating food and I'm being completely honest here but need to check out syns for some things, also don't know how to syn potential oil they've cooked things in..

Breakfast: 30g All Bran Chocolate Crunch (HEB), vanilla yogurt, banana

Lunch: red snapper, vine tomatoes, salad, dressing (?), soda water, 1x lime cordial (0.5?)

Dinner: chicken shish (dry fried but don't know if I should syn), rice (seemed just like boiled but not sure?), salad, chilli sauce (?), mint yogurt (?), 1x bread (6.0?), humous (?), couple of pieces of Turkish delight (?)

Drinks: soda water, lime cordial (1.0?), white wine spritzer (?)

So all in all not as bad as I could have been but dread to think how much all that comes too?! How would you syn things like rice and chicken, didn't seem like there was any oil at all but not sure? X

really sorry to hear the diagnosis of arthritis but I really can empathise with the pain you are in - have to say mine is better now I have the knee replaced :) not pain free but less pain than I was in

glad you both made the most of the day in town
H xx

At least your consultant is on your side... Arthritis can be controlled with a combination of drugs and diet... So hopefully you will able to be a little more pain free than you are at present... xx

:bighug: Helen x

Glad this consultant was on the ball at least. Now you have a possible diagnosis hopefully you could get sorted pain wise x

On a separate note - what's that new all bran crunch like?

Like they said. Seems you've got an on the ball consultant.

Note on the foodage, you can save a syn or two by having soda with a wedge of lime, I have this when I'm driving and am out for the evening. It's also normally free!

The spritzer will be about 5 syns

Glad to hear the consultant was nice Helen
and you have a diagnoses at least ....hopefully
it'll get the ball rolling with your own dr

This consultant was great, wish I had him all the time, lovely old guy, must have been in his late 60's or even 70's. Need a firm diagnosis first before I look at treatment, SW is so healthy though that I'm sure that must be good diet wise for it then or is it more about protein etc? X

I hope so too. As for All Bran, not as nice as the Golden Crunch but they'd sold out of that but it wasn't bad, it actually reminds me of the taste of coco pops but saying that I haven't had them since I was a kid so don't hold me to that! X

I did have a couple of sodas with just a slice of lime but fancied a cordial, used to drink diet coke or Pepsi all the time so struggling now I don't touch the stuff. It's fab when they don't charge you either x

Forgive me for I have sinned (synned!).. When I was having a crappy day the other day Mark went and bought a £10 meal deal from M&S for dinner tonight, I guessed the syns would be bad but didn't work them out before eating.. I wish I had!

I know he was being sweet but I wish I'd just wasted the money and eaten something else as it so wasn't worth the syns.

But to make it worse I got the eating bug and wanted to eat everything in sight and couldn't stop.. It's not good on my food diary but I'm going to be honest and list everything that's entered my mouth today!

Saturday 15th September (E1)

Pre breakfast: tracker bar (6.5 - stopped at petrol station at 4.45am as was starving!)

Breakfast: banana, ff vanilla yogurt, 30g all bran chocolate crunch (HEB)

Lunch: BNS risotto (HEA)

Dinner: chicken with ham hock lattice (27.5), pea and beans with mint butter (1.0), crinkle chips (3.5), 2 tbsp ketchup (1.0)
Millionaires dessert (22.0)

Snacks: belvita biscuits (7.0), graze box (6.5)

Drinks: squash, water

Total syns: 74.0!!!!
