Help needed for 1st day......

I've taken out some beef cubes from the freezer for dinner tomorrow but think there will be too much to do in the slow cooker so think ill end up doing it on the hob in my biggest saucepan. (Which isn't that big lmao).

I don't usually have potato as my hex on a red day but thinking of leaving the skin on the potato for the stew - or cooking it without potato but having the potato as a side to the stew?! I've not done this before so a bit wary but will see how it pans out tomorrow. Had veg with dinner tonight and already feel a bit better. God knows how I managed with so little this week - I usually have 2 or 2 veg every evening meal!!
 
How do you make your chicken fried rice chick? I love it from a chinese but i suspect it's the oil that makes it so yummy! This would be a good meal for us on an EE day, which I'm limiting to weekends now....eek!

the times that i've done red, i've used 115 g of baking potato for half of my B choice and cut it up into wee cubes then roasted it...it surprised me that it wasn't that much less than what i'd usually have which was good....plus it still let me have the other 1.5 earlier in the day :D x

i suspect you're right! lol. mines always ends up stuck to the pan cos the fry light just doesn't cut it the same, but i just fire in spring onions, then a handful of frozen peas and the rice etc, i try to make a "well" and start to cook the egg then mix it all thru.
after last night, i'm wondering if it might be worth synning a wee bit of oil to save having to boil some fairy liquid and water up in my wok to get it clean! lol x
 
I've had one hexb with breakfast today and I think I'm gonna just have some salad or fruit for lunch if im hungry. Then stew for dinner.

I'm writing my shopping list at the moment and will get some superfree stuff for soups this week and next for my lunch.

Didn't manage to get hold of the mag this morning so can't plan too much. But the main thing is that I'm gonna get loads of fruit and veggies - seriously lacking in these the past week!!

Good news is that the scales are only showing a gain of 2lb!!

i got the magazine last night at class...wished i'd looked thru it 1st cos to be honest, i would've given it a miss this month i think...i'm sure others will get lots of ideas from it but what i flicked thru...didn't appeal to me :(

i'm gonna try the baked bean lasagne tonight...eeek! haven't made a lasagne before so will see how this goes!
gonna do EE tm so just making lunch for work which is l/f supernoodles with superfree, bacon and chicken thru it :D

Argh I'm dreading going back to work tbh. I know i will have a million emails to get through and I have meetings as well.

But food wise I'm having a red day. I've got cereal for breakfast with fruit. Lunch is spicy BNS soup that I made today with ryvita as my second hexb. Ill also take yoghurt, fruit crisps (;)) and carrot sticks. Dinner is going to be stir fry with prawns.

I'm planning a version of lasagne later in the week. I'm going to make the mince mixture up using tinned tomatoes, onions and mushrooms then layer it with courgette instead of pasta. I bought some large courgette today so I was planning to use my peeler to peel strips lengthways. Then I am going to use a hexa of cheese on top. Sound ok?!

I don't like baked beans so I'm not sure if I would like the bean lasagne but I would give it a try. Let me know how it is :)

Ahh that's a shame about the magazine. What sort of recipes are in there this time?!
 
aww i can't even remember to be honest, i just had a quick look and thought hmmm...wouldn't bother with that :(

i dunno what the courgette would be like...i never have it...in fact, i'm not sure if i even like it lol.

tomorrow sounds good for you tho ;)

as for the lasagne...its been in the oven for ages...pasta sheets are still solid...and my OH has already remarked that the sauce tastes like garlic soup....GREAT! lol

any more of his cheek and he can have a fekin pot noodle! pmsl x

Ahh it's a shame about the lasagne sheets. I always find I have to cook lasagne for a lot longer than expected do hopefully yours will turn out ok in the end!

I'm feeling really sleepy so think it will be early to be for me tonight. Annoyingly first night in my own bed last night and could I Bleedin well sleep?!?! I was tossing and turning loads :( hope its not gonna start that all off again!!
 
hopefully not chick...but the night before you're due to start work will be a funny one...the more you try to go to sleep, the more you won't be able to, the later it gets the more you'll think i need to sleep...don't sleep in....it's always the same! :(

dinner was ok....i'm allowed to make it again if i add some more things to it...like MINCE! lmao...poor soul just needs some man food he says lol.

anyway, i'm off to quickly update my food diary then gonna settle with some goodies

fingers crossed you settle to get some sleep....trying not to stress is always the key...and it's also the hardest thing to do sometimes eh!

well thankfully i managed a good sleep - and didnt wake up to go to the loo until 6:15 this morning (just before my alarm) so I was a happy bunny. Although i was tired again by the time i got on the train to work hahaha! I woke up feeling starving as a result of my first attempt at SW again yesterday which initially went well but I was flagging by the end of the day and ended up eating sweets before I even realised it. So today is the first official back on plan day now!

Its been a long day so far but im not hungry anymore because I have been filling up on lovely superfree fruit! Its so good to have some fresh fruit after a week without. I dont know why I dont eat more fruit and veg when I am away - prob because im eating out rather than cooking myself?! Anyway I really felt it this time around and felt very sluggish and bloated so will learn from that for next time!

I was a bit worried about my sister yesterday as she weighed herself and was at her heaviest last week and then went to get a bra fitting yesterday and they told her she was a 44 GG-H!!!! Shocking!! There is no way she is a 44 - she has a friend who is much bigger than her who is only a 40 so I think the person measuring made a mistake but its knocked her a bit. I talked to her about diet but she said she had struggled a bit as she keeps being sent on courses where she cant prepare lunch (as there is nowhere to keep it cold) and buying on the run - which we both know is dangerous.

But then this morning she text me thrilled to bits as she has lost 5lb despite the difficulties she has had. I am so pleased for her and she sounds really motivated now. I am going to start exercising with her as of next week (its her bday this weekend) and try to push her on a bit for her holiday in July. :)

Its great to hear her a bit more upbeat about it - hopefully this is the kick she needed!!!

aww that's good that your sister had a good loss...and a 44 GG....bloody hell....your lucky if i've got wee bee stings these days!
i commented last night at how big the cups were in my bra....totally sh!t as i hardly had anything before!
i told my OH, if you come in and i'm eating cakes...it's cos i've got a night out and i need to fill a bra pmsl!

my day's been ok although i've not got a clue what to have for dinner. i'd taken e/l pork mince out last night to do the meatball pasta bake but not really wanting that plus we're going out soon so i've prepared the meatballs and cut some potato into chips so that we can maybe have the meatballs with sw chips when we get back.
i've been trying to make dinner and feed us before we go out but just can't tonight...been running about since i finished work and just have no time...so it's dangerous cos we won't get back till nearer 7 and i hate eating late :(
my OH can have gravy or something and god knows what i'll have...
hate not being organised and this is a prime example of what happens when you don't really know what the plan is!

how was your first day back other than being tired?x
 
If I'm not organised I fall off the wagon so easily. I've got in mind all my meals this week. My bf tried to throw a spanner in the works as he was meant to be out tomorrow but says he would stay in and I was like "errrr......you won't like my dinner" so I'm giving him left over stew from yesterday and I'm having my courgette lasagne :)

It wasn't too bad I suppose lol. My dinner was so yummy I had a massive portion of it mmmm. I also had a 'Millies' cookie after as a great for 9.5 syns (well worth it) so I'm on 13.5 for the day. Feel like now I have had something sweet I could easily have a binge but I'm going to busy myself making lunch for tomorrow and then have a nice cuppa.

How was your dinner in the end? Did you manage to hold out til you got home?

My sis has always been big up top - she blames her kids lol. But I think it was the '44' that she was most upset by. Her bra snapped at a wedding last weekend which is what prompted the measuring lol.
 
omg....i certainly DON'T have that problem! lol

i'd followed the recipe and made the meatballs before we left and prepared chips so we had those when we got back....it was much better than i thought and i had ketchup too...think it was that that that swung it...i've not had any for a while.
fruit salad afterwards and gonna have a freddo and some crisps soon.

i'm gonna do green tomorrow and use the last of the lasagne from yesterday, it's been in the fridge so should still be ok....aww well it'll get used up so that's a plus!

cannot wait to settle tonight..gonna dry my hair soon and chill for an hr before bed...the end of the week is in sight...yee hah! lol x
 
Lasagne will be fine if its been in the fridge hun. Im gonna use my lasagne from tomorrow as lunch the next day. I got myself some nice new dishes and got one that is the perfect size for two portions so that will be ideal.

I'm gonna start chopping up fruit for tomorrow and then settle down to watch the apprentice :)

then quick shower and bed for me (zzzzzzzzzz)
 
i've done the same re the fruit...kept some aside to have before i leave for work then i'll have magic porridge when i get there.

I can't wait for the weekend!! I feel cream crackered today!

I promised myself a Starbucks as a treat while I was away but didn't find one :( really feel like I need it today (eyes fighting to stay open on the train) but its high syns and I don't want to waste a hexa on the skinny milk. Maybe tomorrow if I have different breakfast I can use my extra hex then :)

meal plan today is green...
fruit and magic porridge for breakfast, got soup and sw quiche with me to snack on and cheese and pickle sandwich at lunch with some fruit prob. left over lasagne for dinner then GOOOOOODIES! lol

did you get a rubbish sleep last night...or is it just the 2nd day back in to the routine thing that i always seem to get?? hellish :(

It's the second day back hell lol. I slept ok although I didn't go to bed early in the end. I also made the mistake of having a cup of green tea before I went to bed so had a toilet wake up at 3am lol. Silly me!!

I had cereal as per usual for brekkie, soup with ryvita for lunch with the usual fruit, carrot sticks etc (hmmmm.....maybe I need to vary this diet a bit!) dinner is my lasagne with courgette which im nervous but excited about.

I think I'm going to make some BNS chips and salad to have with it to up the superfree. Never made BNS chips but lots of people rave about them.

I've decided to spend Monday making a fakeaway Chinese as a treat for me and bf. in going to start with egg fried rice which I have a recipe for and look for a chow mein type dish and maybe a chicken in black bean sauce type thing if I can find some adaptable recipes :)
 
mmm sounds good...i was thinking about chinese last night actually. we used to go out for dinner all the time and we've been out once since jan for eats....think i might arrange something soon...one night off plan for a treat won't sabbotage me i'm sure!

you'll need to let me know how the dinner goes tonight ;) x
 
So far I'm planning egg fried rice, beef in black bean sauce using some syns, chicken noodle stir fry and sticky chicken.

I was thinking I might try some oven cooked spring rolls using filo pastry as well?! Reckon that would be any good?
