Help needed for 1st day......

I've had a good day really. I went to costa with a friend earlier and had a mooch round town. I've got some soup bubbling away - curry chicken and BNS which smells good. So I managed to do my three bean chilli and soup for lunches in the week.

Might try and go for alternate red and green days (BNS and chicken for red days and chilli for green days). Tuesday will be an exception though as I have a funeral to go to so EE will be easier.

Roast beef for dinner for us tonight and it's already cooking in the oven and veg being par boiled. Still haven't had my hexb so I'll have them with a cuppa later as I'm keeping syns low today.

Weather is awful here today - hasn't stopped raining all day and we have had thunder and lightening as well :( winter is here!

its miserable here too :(

you sound sorted with your food plan for this week...and a week of alternate red/green days means double the HE's ;)

i've just this minute logged on, went shopping and now currently starving waiting on a gammon joint which is in the oven.

doing red again today and trying to drink loads to compensate last night but think i'm over hungry now and it's testing me lol. gonna have gammon, carrot & suede and sprouts. had fruit and 2 ryvita with boiled eggs earlier but i'm proper craving carbs....
i could swap to EE but to be honest, i'll save syns doing red and having my hifi light bars tonight instead of chocolate and lets face it, i probably need to try some sort of damage limitation after last night lol

picked up the all bran chocolate crunch which i hadn't had before...oooh it is yummy!
you don't get a lot for the weight but i had 15g (1/2 B) with fruit and yog and it just felt so bad being chocolate cereal!
it was on offer in asda for £2 and that's the only reason i got it....but i'm glad i liked it cos it'll last a while if i only use 15/30g at a time :) x

Has the all bran got nuts?! I love a bit of chocolate cereal but it's never enough of a portion for me lol. I can just about take the weetabix mini's but haven't tried anything else. Why can't we have coco pops?! Lol

After my planning bf has announced that he wants beef massaman curry tomorrow so looks like it will be EE after all lol. I've got some strawberries and yoghurt for breakfast and I'll have bread with my soup at lunch. I'll need to pick up some blue dragon light coconut milk tomorrow so let's hope the supermarkets are stocked up otherwise I'll be playing catch up again this week. I hate that coconut milk is so synful :(

How you feeling now? Nice and hydrated?! How was your a gammon. Our roast was lovely earlier - was nice to have beef for a change. We got a nice big joint so I cooked half and left half in the fridge for tomorrow's curry. Only £6 for the whole thing :)

What you got planned for your week off then?! Cooking as usual? Hopefully the weather improves for the break!!

that was a good price if it was a decent size!
not sure i'll be cooking the same as usual tomorrow....cos i'm off i'll be able to prepare more things through out the day but will just see what happens.

i've never really used coconut milk but i know it's high...and i'd be bummed if i did and was trying to plan it in somewhere.

the gammon was lovely as usual and i've been gulping water and diluting squash but to be honest, i've struggled today...bed time is almost in sight and i'm glad to say i didn't cave to potatoes, rice or pasta...but god the roasties i made for my OH looked lovely! lol

it doesn't have nuts as such (although didn't check for nut allergy thingy on the back) it's kinda like wee clusters of coco pops and i was always wary to get the box in case i didn't like them and wished they did the trial size back of the chocolate ones like they do the normal golden crunch. 15g wasn't a lot and i'm not sure a full HEb worth (30g) would fill you but maybe bulked up with a banana etc it would?

i got a tin of lean corned beef today and thought i could syn it in and have that with potato and beans one time...or make a corned beef hash thing? not had anything like that for ages and it's 2 syns for 100g but bet it would be tasty after all this time?

i took some recipes out of my bundle of sw mags today before i binned them and noticed that some of the batchelors cupa pasta/noodles are syn free. i picked up the roast chicken one which is free to try - similar to a mug shot but another thing to try.
i also saw mug shot have a macaroni one out now too but didn't get it as i wasn't sure of the syns and still none the wiser. some of the cheesier ones are 2.5/3 and i wouldnt waste syns on them when there are free ones but was just wondering.

those types of things are handy for lunch especially on green to save HEb but i try not to have them that often. once a week at a push but it would be really easy to get back in to that convenience type rubbish!

off now to watch Homeland...do you watch it?
chocolate tonight consisted of hifi light bar and 1 celebration...go me! ;) lol x

Ooohhh I like homeland. We have only seen series one but we are recording series three from the tv until we can get hold of series two to watch. I think Claire Danes is brilliant in it. That sort of programme is right up my street...I absolutely love 24 and watch the box set all the time! Have you seen that?! We have started watching one called blacklist - pretty impressed so far!

Your dinner sounds lovely yesterday and well done for resisting the roasties! I think for 2 syns, you will really enjoy having corned beef for a change so go for it! All it means is one less celebration tonight so not a massive deal when you think about it.

I think I'll try that cereal once I've finished up what I've got. Because I have been doing a lot of EE I still have porridge oats and rice puffs to eat up before I buy another box lol. But I love choc cereal and tend to have fruit with breakfast most of the time anyway so maybe a hexb would be enough?! Won't know til I try lol

Well scales are showing another 1.5 off for me today hooray!! That's nearly half a stone that I've lost so I'm really happy with that - half a pound to go to 1/2 stone. I'm hoping for a bit of a shopping spree for my bday as I think I'll get some vouchers so would be nice to get to target by then - 8lb to go!! Target is to get back into the 8's which is nearly at my comfortable weight but I just want to get there first!

Fingers crossed for you tonight as well - what time is WI?! It's due to be gain week isn't it?!

aww well done on the loss! i'm not so confident about tonight's lol...it's at 5.30 and yep, it's due to be gain week but hey ho eh lol.

vouchers are always great when you know you'll genuinely put them to use. i used to hate getting them but i've asked for them this year for bday and xmas cos as you know....i need some stuff!
picked up a t shirt in asda yesterday, never tried it on cos it looked fine....and it fitted...but it was too short :( so i'm gonna take it back. the bigger size would give me the length but would just be too big...grrrr!

love Homeland - she is fab isn't she. and only saw the very last 24 which was on the tv at the end of last year. my OH taped the whole lot and we watched it over a few days at new year...really liked it and wished i'd watched the 1st 7 lol but we're also watching the blacklist too and i agree that it's good.

not sure we'll have the corned beef tonight but i'm glad i picked it up...and lets face it, i syn the dressing on a subway salad sometimes so it's just the same as that ;) x

you are totally right re the corned beef/subway salad so it will be a nice treat without 'spending' too many syns lol.

dont let tonight derail you if you do have a gain - you are used to this pattern now and know that next week you will get it off again so dont worry if it is a gain. Its really good that you wrote it all down so you can recognise that it isnt something you are foing wrong but just your body playing silly games.

ahh its annoying about the tshirt - i find lots of stuff is intentionally short these days though dont you? whats with the short front and long back on everything at the moment? dont like that at all lol. I did some window shopping yesterday and love all the new jumpers etc in H&M. I also looked in French Connection and found several gorgeous coats that cost about £160 each - so obv i put them down hastily lol. my other coats are from New Look and cost about £40 each - thats much more my budget although i am going to wait til nearer xmas.
ooh if you get the chance to watch the other 24 series you def should - its so addictive. my favourites are season 1 as you get to know the main characters, season 3 and season 5 as the storylines are brilliant and involve some surprises. thats the whole charm of 24 for me - its never ending action and twists :)

lol..that and "what'll be will be" ;)

i would watch the first lot of 24 but i kinda feel like watching the very last one means i know what happens? but my OH said it would give me the background on all the charachters? might have a think about it.

did you watch the following too? think i asked when it was on...cannot wait for that to start back!x

just back from WI and i put 4lbs on...yes....4lbs...eeek!

if i'm honest, i'm really not that ar$ed about it and i think the reason that i feel so ok about it is because deep down, i don't think that's a true reflection.

i don't think for a second that it's 4lbs of fat that's clinging to my body and that by going for dinner and over indulging a bit put 4lbs of lard back on to me...i think it's a reflection of how my body's reacted to the foods which i ate and to be honest, i've been totally p'd off and gutted over putting 1lb or less on when i've been on plan.

you have to eat so many thousand calories over your daily intake to put 1lb on so for me, this isn't realistic and yes i know the scales show i'm 4lb heavier...and i fully accept that tonight, i was the weight i was, but i don't, in any way, feel like i've failed or blown it or whatever else comes with a gain sometimes....i just think oooft....i didn't think it would be that much! lol

really glad that mentally, i feel ok with it. of course if i have another 4 on next week there would be a problem but as i said, i've felt so bad before when i've had unjustified gains even though i know that i've been on plan so as usual, it's down to our bodies and clearly, i'm not one of the lucky ones who can gorge on junk foods and treats more than usual and get away with it...and that's clearly a decision my body has made to prove a point ;)

awww well...off now to see how my quorn burger on wm roll and sw chips are getting on...so hungry, can't wait and i know i'm going to enjoy it for a few hundred calories while my OH tucks into an 800 calorie chicken korma "ding" meal....skinny b*gger that he is lmao.

hope your day's been ok chick :D x

Reading your last post has really cheered me up- you're so positive and realistic about things it's made me look at my crap weigh in in more perspective. Like you said, we know we haven't eaten all those thousands of calories to justify the gain so our sodding bodies are playing tricks on us lol.
Good on you!

glad to have helped hun ;)

it's always disheartening and you know i'm pretty much always on plan but get the odd gain but what it's taught me is that it's not always down to us eating bad or doing wrong and although i expected one this week (plus it was due to be gain week anyway), i didn't think it would be that much.

i didn't have my meal and think oh god, i've ruined everything...i thought oh god, i've eaten too much, i feel ill lol and then more a case of oh god, the bloat and fluids will well have an impact on the scales.

i totally get how you're feeling though...i've had gains which are unjustified and been gutted! but you had a whopper of a loss last week and i don't believe for a second that you've eaten stuff that's had a negative effect, it's these bloody bodies and their mind of their own sometimes lol x

You are both very positive in the face of unexplained gains :) I think sometimes everyone faces this and it's all about how you deal with it that counts. It's either throw in the towel or sigh, shrug and carry on right?!?! Don't beat yourself up too much!

I've just had the beef curry and it was really nice. I'm so full up now though and just realised that there was no potato in it anyway so today is technically red although I have only had one hexb. But I'm so full that I'm not sure I want another hexb? Do you think it matters?!

I might want it later on and I have alpen light in so u could have it but would it be doing it for the sake of it?!

lol...if only it was potatoes that meant it was a green or EE day eh lol.

i got the magazine tonight at class, there's a butternut squash lasagne recipe in there. never paid too much attention but saw and it thought it might be something you'd like?x

Yep I probably would. I love my BNS lol :) I can't wait til it comes out in the shops but I think it's another week for me to wait!

I've planned to have red tomorrow. I've got a funeral and we are stopping for breakfast on the way so I'm planning poached eggs and bacon (ill cut off the fat) with toast (hexb). Then at the wake I will have another hexb for sandwiches which is what I expect to be the food. It will be buffet type food so none of it very SW friendly.

So I can have sarnies, salad, and then I will have syns to play with. Cocktail sausages are 1.5 each so maybe a couple of them. Mini sausage rolls are 3 so I'll try to steer clear of them. Hopefully I'll manage ok. :)

I want to save some syns up as I'm at Alton towers on Saturday and got a feeling my options will be limited.

can you take some stuff with you?

i've just been browsing through slimming eats and saw the recipe for cheese burger quiche...looks yummy and might need to give that a go one time!

there are lots of nice things but i look at the ingredients and if i don't have the spices or whatever, i instantly switch off lol. all the recipes that got my attention in the mag had one thing or another that i don't have and i just turn the page.

no wonder i'm getting stuck for ideas eh haha x

It's quite a journey to get there so I don't really want to take food with me. I'll probably take an alpen light for 3 syns for the way home if I'm hungry but I don't want to seem insensitive by taking food. I'll just do the best I can I think

I love slimming eats :) I'm the same as you to a certain extent though. If I need more then two ingredients then I go onto the next. But it's great for ideas if you have stuff to use up!!

Bf has just made me a lovely cuppa and I'll be off to bed after. What's on the treats menu tonight?!

treats tonight were a mini malteser bunny (still rationed from easter lol) and a pkt of hoops and crosses. those and a wee squirt of ketchup sees me using 8 syns for the day...not a bad start to the week ;)

heading to bed soon myself i think x

Well today wasn't too bad (as well as a funeral can go anyway). Food today has been scrambled egg (hexa), bacon and toast (hexb) with spread (4). I also had one triangle of cheese and tomato sandwich (so half A and half b is prob over generous but no idea how else to measure it?!)

I had one bite of cake with frosting (2.5?!) and three foam strawberry sweets (2.5).

So I'm looking at half a hexa, half a hexb and 6 syns left?!

Do you reckon that is pretty much what it would be?!
