Help needed for 1st day......

aww what a shame re the plumbing thing, but as you say, you're probably in a better position than most when it comes to the repairs side of it.

i use the quorn for my chilli and i really find it ok. i use about half the bag and i get about 5 portions out of it - all the other stuff bulks it out so that's a bonus!

still haven't tried the meatballs so i'll need to soon!

i'll need to make the mac and cheese tomorrow and freeze them portions which i'd planned anyway, but the natural yog i have to use for the "sauce" is out of date on fri so i'll def do it tomorrow...hate to waste it lol

treats tonight will prob be crisps and a chocolate orange segsation chocolate. just the one cos i had a wee taste of some walnut cake at a taster thing today and whilst i don't think it would've been 25g, the book says 5.5 so i'm just going with that.
had some ketchup with dinner so that's 6 altogether so another 7.5 max will take me to 13.5 for the day :D

hope you get away from work at a decent time...sometimes it's a blessing when systems are unavailable...and sometimes it's just a bloomin' nightmare :(
x

well i am def willing to give it a try. I know you love the burgers too so think ill have a look see what they have got and pick up a few things to try. I bet i like it and bf doesnt after all lol. we always bulk out our chilli with things like peppers, onion, mushrooms etc so it should be tasty as long as we put enough chilli in it!

i really liked the mac n cheese but have only made it once. when i go shopping ill pick up the stuff for that as well - its always good to have stuff like that in the freezer for lunches. todays lunch was the primula risotto (only one more portion left) and it was nicer this time around as i heated it longer than lsat time and it made it all a bit less 'sticky'. Bf has just called and said that he wants to try doing a moroccan style lamb so no idea what that means or what i will get with it lol! But at least it wont be my turn to cook and i can relax once i get in. I have some leeks left over that i will need to use in the next day or so but found a nice recipe for salmon pasta bake with leeks and a leek and potato soup so that will do me for lunches i think.

im just waiting for a call from someone and then i can leave - im literally sat ready to go :D an hours journey so need to get out the door as soon as i can or ill end up raiding the biscuit tins at work from hunger lol.

Your treats sound nice - i might have a mini twirl if bf cooks something without mash or to many syns. i need to get another pack of these mini things. its the first time ever i have managed to resrtict myself and be disciplined enough to not gorge the lot so im pretty pleased!

yay! go you!
sometimes aldi and lidl have those packs for way cheaper than supermarkets

i have a pack of the cadbury mini things (fudge, chomp etc) and a tub of celebrations which still need to be opened. i'm pretty good at making things like that last a while.

i've not tried the quorn sausages but the burgers i get are a pack of 2 from the chilled section. (think they are beef style with sweet red onion) and are syn free. they're £2 + but i really like them although i don't buy them all the time.
i've seen their "cold meat" style stuff on offer for £1 sometimes but yet to try that and you know i like the chicken pieces and the peppered steak things.

sainsburys are doing the 500g packs of extra lean mince, 3 for £10 which is pretty decent considering those offers don't usually include the extra lean stuff.
i was there last week and got 6 chicken breasts and the mince for £10 which is 5 dinners for my OH and i cos i split the chicken in to 2 breasts portions and halved the mince.
it's crazy that a 500g pack of normal mince is £2 in asda but yet the extra lean mince is £4.50 for less than 500g...madness...no wonder the uk spends millions on health issues caused by weight...there is no incentive to eat more healthy!
i got blueberries yesterday - £2.25 for a wee tub and picked up 4 double deckers for my fella...for £1??!! makes no sense to me :(

wonder what your dinner will be like? wish my OH cooked for me...he prob would but its the sw stuff that he's like eeeek! at the thought of where to start lol x

Oh god my dinner was scrummy!!! We had lamb rack with a crust made from breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, rosemary and thyme. Then mash with peas and carrots. The best thing is that I've worked out the syns and the whole thing was only 7.5!! More than I would usually use for dinner but it was so tasty and great to have something different for a change. Def worth the syns!!

So that's me on 11 for the day and I'm full up so won't have anything else now :)

You are so good with your tins of celebrations. I would def fail massively on that one. I am def going to keep up with these ones I have been using for treats though. What you having tonight!?

It always amazes me that junk food is so cheap. There are always deals on rubbish and the supermarkets always put them at the front of the stores as well - never for healthy stuff though! Is so easy to eat badly...no wonder we have an obesity epidemic!!!

totally agree!!
dinner sounds good (even if i wouldn't chose lamb myself lol) and great that you enjoyed and are keeping a few syns aside too ;)

i had 1 choc orange segsation and some crisps so total is def 13.5 for the day. that's higher than i'd usually use but i only had 5 on monday and 8.5 yest so well covered!x

Morning. EE day for me today as I am making cottage pie for dinner with some veggies. Can't wait - proper winter dinner lol.
Got soup for lunch and porridge for breakfast to warm me up!

Hopefully the plumber will come nice and early this evening so I can have a soak before an early night!!

Big boss is out of the office today so I am going to try and leave half hour early for a change :)

good for you..i think you well deserve a wee early finish! ;)

planned green today but only had 1/2 a HEB so might change to EE if i decide to use up the sausages i have in the fridge...also have a quorn burger there too so need to decide...then freeze whatever i don't have.

what's the update on the plumber...is it all sorted now?x

Ahh the plumber has been, all fixed and I've had a lovely soak! Dinner was yummy and I've had a mini twirl to treat myself tonight. :)

How was your day? X

my day was good thanks, but my little one is choked with the cold so i'm hoping it doesn't come to too much....you know how men like the "milk it"...well he's learning that role just fine...all by himself lol.

i'd taken one of those cup a pasta things for lunch today but didn't fancy it so nicked to the canteen for a jacket potato and beans. stuck to green today and had the quorn burger on a wm roll but just on it's own cos i didn't want to have more potato (even though i could've)

so glad to hear you're all sorted...bet you really appreciated the soak more than usual ;) x

Lol yeah it was a brilliant bath!! He didn't want any money either - said bf's dad was sorting it out - so we gave him two nice bottles of red wine. I sent bf out for a curry with his dad and we paid as a thank you. He helps us out all the time :)

Bf and I are getting a takeaway tonight - we are both shattered. He got a msg saying his sister had her baby in the night so we were both woken up!! Bless him it's is 8th niece/nephew but he was so happy :):) little girl and all is well with mum and baby.

So we are thinking Chinese or kebab. If we go Chinese I need syns for chow mein and beef in black bean sauce (8 in total for half a portion of each) and I'll make some plain boiled rice (or egg 'fried' rice if I have time) and 7 for a kebab so it can be done as long as I don't syn too much in the day.

I've got cottage pie from last night for lunch :) was really tasty in the end. What is your plan today!?

aww lovely news on the baby. and how nice that his dad does that...my mum's like that too and sometimes it's just such a big help!
We're going away today and i'm so looking forward to it. now my OH knows, i'm able to speak so much better...was having to watch what i was saying lol.

he wants to go for breakfast this morning but not sure if we're going yet. so no plans as such...just gonna have a really nice weekend...it's been a while since we've had some proper time on our own and i cannot wait until he opens the HUGE bar of fruit and nut he got for his bday lol

chinese will be nice....i like chicken chow mein. making your own rice will save you money and syns...but somehow,it's always better from them eh lol x

Oohhhh yeah your weekend away! Hope you have an amazing time. Eat and drink to your hearts content and have a bleedin good time!! :)

Can't wait to hear all about it! X

hey mrs....
how's you?

how was your weekend and how did WI go this morning?

i'm back after having a lovely weekend...it was really nice to get some time just the two of us, be silly and have some giggles and of course, be waaaay off plan!

starting today off with what i'm hoping will be a red day...haven't cooked any of the usual stuff cos i'm planning my 1st red day whilst working for tomorrow so i didn't make my things - maybe do some tomorrow.
avoided it today cos as i make it, i nibble away so if i don't do it then today will be able to be a red day too ;)

cooked a chicken earlier so planning on taking chicken salad to work tomorrow for lunch and will have fruit salad for the morning instead of the rice and fruit.
also bought those wraps which are now a HEB (bloody £2.80!!) so thought i could try the pizza out of those and maybe even make one tomorrow to take for wednesday's lunch?
they def won't be getting wasted at that price lol.

i've got some wee quiche type things in the oven just now - just little muffin ones with pepper, onion, mushroom and some chopped ham so i'll take a few of those to snack on when i'd usually have a bite of my dahl loaf.
started the day off with a very much needed bowl of fruit salad with yog, there's also some left to have later which is a bonus and i'll def need to up the fluid intake.

how's the new baby? does she have a name yet?x

My weekend was off plan due to early bday celebrations with a friend who I won't see this weekend and a school reunion! It was great fun and I'm back on plan today with an EE day to ease me in. I'm working at home so on one hand can put something on to cook but I also find it harder to stick to when I'm at home lol.

I've had some syns with butter on toast for breakfast and I'm making a Thai type rice dish for lunch. Dinner is salmon pasta bake so that will all be ok. Need to get some fruit as I only have one apple left lol.

WI this morning was 1lb gain. Sort of expected after two weekends off plan and hopefully I can rectify this a bit with a good week. The trouble is that next weekend is bday weekend so that will def be off plan lol. This year I am determined to enjoy myself on the days I have things to do but stick to plan the rest of the time. So if I have a few weeks where I gain 1lb at least it isn't more!!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed yourself :) what was your favourite off plan food!?!

Xxx

that's exactly what i've done the last couple of occasions i've had....but i really shouldn't give myself the permission that i have been now (or as much) cos it will only lead to trouble!

1lb on wasn't bad...god i can put 3 on without even being "off it" lol

fri morning we went out for breakfast...it was a "help yourself" type one and i had a couple of sausages, an egg, some potato rosti stuff but enjoyed the toast on jam the most!
fri night we had a meal at the hotel. i picked tuna salad but there was nothing healthy about it....prob about 2 tins of tuna worth (!!) with loads of mayo, coleslaw, chips, cheese etc....enjoyed the chips the most but it really made me think that no wonder some people don't lose weight when they think they're being healthy picking stuff like that! lol

fruit and nut chocolate and crisps were consumed that night and the following morning, i had some alpen muesli (yum!) some fruit salad with yog (full fat) and when they brought the breakfast, i didn't fancy it again so ate the 1 sausage and passed the rest (fried bread, bacon, egg, etc) to my OH and ate, again, more toast on spreads than necessary.
snacked on some mcoys and a flapjack in the afternoon and we had indian for dinner that night

yesterday i woke hungry and ate some cashew nuts (double yum...it's been sooo long lol), had a fillet of fish meal from mcdonalds then nothing really for dinner...picked at a few chips from my OH but ended up with weetabix lol and finished my weekend off with a chunky kit kat and a packet of doritos.

i think i didn't really want the cooked breakfast stuff as much cos we can have that all the time on this....i enjoyed the junk the most, the toast on jam, crisps etc but i don't even want to think of the damage!

got another doo to goto in 2 weeks but i'm def not talking myself into the "have what you want" frame of mind...i've done it twice now for the stuff that was planned for a while and i don't want to start giving myself excuses willy nilly!
i'm just going to see how that one goes and have a xmas lunch with work but a few girls mentioned going to a carvery which would be good for me and as for my birthday....well i'm not fussed about doing anything special and if my OH wants to....a chinese or something might be tempting...but def no full weekends off and no cake etc!

so no superfree to be seen really, lots of white floury stuff and generally a weekend full of junk...sending myself an SOS SW signal now for sure!! hehe x

Ooh it sounds like you had a fab weekend :) u ended up having cottage pie for dinner instead of the salmon pasta so I could get more SuperFree in. As a result I have eaten too much and am well and truly stuffed lol. At least it was syn free :)

Did you skip WI today!?

ooh i haven't had cottage pie for ages!
no goodies for you tonight then?

i'd booked a hol for tonight when i was there last week...remember i was stressing cos i was off then there then knew i'd be missing it tonight too?

managed my red day today..
fruit and yog for breakfast, HEb wrap pizza for lunch and chicken with carrot/suede mash & sprouts for dinner with left over fruit.
snacked on seafood sticks throughout the day and my goodies tonight were some "ferrero rocher" which i made today (bloomin disaster cos i didn't use enough nutella so i struggled to keep them together) and some crisps.

not bad for an amateur red day-er lol, tomorrow's red day food is sorted....but i'm worried i'm not gonna want my salad at lunch...or that i might be hungry.
will just need to see how it goes but i'm funny with salads and never take one to work for lunch as it instantly makes me feel like i'm "On a diet".
fingers crossed it goes to plan...worst case scenario is i have to change it to EE but hope not...surely a day or 2 with not a bit of rice, pasta or potatoes and plenty fluids will be a good kick start after my weekend! lol x

I had a packet of monster munch earlier in the day so no treats last night. I was thinking of trying a couple of red days this week too because I know the weekend will be off plan. I'm also thinking of having a few days where I use syns on things other than crisps and choc....like avocado and cheese!? I'm also going to try and eat more fruit than usual.

I haven't got much SuperFree in at the moment so need to do a mini shop this evening for some salad (which is essential if I'm going to do red days this week!!) and some fruit and veg. I love sprouts so might pick some of them up. Need to do a plan for the next few days so I know where I am!!

Today will be EE. I'm having turkey steaks with rice and veg for lunch which is leftover from yesterday. Dinner is going to be the salmon pasta i was planning to have yesterday but changed my mind on, veg and salad.

Are you back to owl today!?

yep....and i woke a million times last night so i'm far from feeling fresh this morning :(

not had monster munch in ages...but i suppose the hoops and crosses are quite close to them.

raring to go with my red day today...but need to make some stuff after work for the next few days...it'll be testing not scooping up my crumbling dahl loaf like i usually do lol

you working from home today?x

Nope I'm back in the office today, Which is annoying as it's cold outside but better for me diet wise tbh. I tend to stick to plan better when I have a structured day ahead of me.

I think ill do a roast tomorrow using up some pork loin that I have or a chicken (although that will take ages!) and roast some carrots and BNS instead of potatoes.

Stir fry is an easy red day dinner as I'll just cook bf's noodles separately so could do that one day. Plus it is packed with SuperFree. I also have pork mince which I was planning to make meatballs with but I'm not sure that's a good plan for a red day as I'll have to be disciplined with the pasta (hexb amount is tiny isn't it!?). Still I can bulk up on veg and salad I suppose :)

For lunches I can have sandwiches, salads or soup so I'm not worried about that. Now I just need to write this all down so I am more likely to stick to it!!
