Help needed for 1st day......

Morning :) I'm so happy - still on cloud 9 from a brilliant weekend lol. I am not even feeling the tiredness yet but I'm sure it will hit me later.

Well....where to start!! I worked in the butchers again Saturday morning and the owners brought in a present for me and some bubbly so started the day well lol. We had a really nice lunch and night out on Saturday and there were tons of people who turned up. Me and bf didn't end up going to bed til about 5am (after a chicken roll from the takeaway place eeekkkk!)

My sister made me this amazing birthday cake....

She is so clever :) my work mates will be happy with the leftovers with their cups of tea today haha.

Went to my parents yesterday after breakfast in bed and a lazy day (just what I needed!) and had a Chinese takeaway which was also just what I needed hahaha :)

I got some amazing presents from my family. My parents bought me some beautiful opal earrings which I have wanted for years to match an opal necklace that was my mums. (She passed away when I was little so cried my eyes out when I got them lol). They also booked me a photography course and a day out at the zoo feeding the giraffes :) I have a bit of a thing for giraffes so I'm majorly excited about this lol. My sister is taking me away this weekend to Liverpool to do the Beatles tour and a tour round the football stadium - plus some shopping at the Xmas and vintage markets and a few drinks while we are there :) then I also got a photo book with pics from my childhood, school, graduation and up to now. It's amazing - I blubbed all over it lol.

Some friends bought me and my bf (who is 30 on weds) a three course lunch at the Ritz in London and I got so many other bits and bobs I can't even list them!! I've had a brilliant weekend and been thoroughly spoiled :)

And to top it all off......I lost 1lb this morning :) how on earth that happened I'll never know lol.

How was your weekend!?

awww that all sounds fantastic! i must admit i welled up a bit reading about your earrings x

the cake is fab! does she just do stuff like that in her spare time?

The Ritz....ooooh ;) lol

all your yummy food AND 1lb....what an excellent weekend...shame it's monday eh...sounds like it's been fab and you were spoiled rotten...what fab gifts you got! but i reckon you deserve it all...30 or not...cos you work your wee butt off the rest of the year!

my weekend was ok thanks...not a patch on yours lol, but all on plan with another red day under my belt yesterday :D x

She just does it in her spare time. She has set herself up a group on face book so hopefully will get some work out of that but mainly she just really enjoys it.

Food today is EE and I'm having Thai rice and veg for lunch and stir fry for dinner lol. I'm not terribly prepared so I've got to defrost and heat it lol.

I'm trying not to get distracted by looking at what we can do in Liverpool this weekend but it's tough lol :)

aww just look! ;)

whats the name of your sister's page and i'll have a wee look...there are so many fantastic cakes now but god they're not cheap!
huge market for cakes, cupcakes etc and the latest thing here is cheesecakes (yum!)

i was gonna do another red today but i was too hungry when i woke, that i had a few spoonfuls of savoury rice when i was making it this morning. i did 3 last week and as long as i'm prepared, they go ok.

i've cooked a chicken so we'll have that tonight with some sw roasties and veg i think x

Think I'm gonna stick to EE for a few weeks to try and work around all the Xmas lunches and bday parties etc that seem to be filling my diary up. Didn't have time to bring anything in with me today so I'll pop to tesco and get some fruit for breakfast I think. Lunch is out again today so will just pick as sensibly as I can from the menu!!

Slept so well last night - really needed it after a busy weekend :)

How was your treats last night!?

totally get what you mean re the social things...i've got a few on too but will just see what happens at the time. not gonna give myself any pressure.

2 off last night at class for me and star week made an appearance this morning before work but thankfully, i had a chance to eat practically all my food i'd taken to work, take tablets and eat some dextro tablets to try and avoid the faint/sickness thing and it seemed to help.
at one point i felt a bit worse for wear but my friend at work had chocolates and i had a few....didn't have lunch and prob over my syns but to be honest, i'm not fussed...i managed my full shift without running to be sick or almost passing out so....so be it i guess?!

my treat were good thanks....as always lol.

not long home...hate that it's dark so early :(

got quorn chilli out for dinner so think i'll have that with a baked potato and the mac and cheese i had out for lunch today will do for tomorrow...yay...less preparation lol

what's on the menu for dinner tonight?x

Hi, i have just joined SW online and wondered if its worth buying the books off ebay ?

they're probably over priced on ebay?
is there an option to buy the books online from the website?

you'll get loads of recipe ideas on here...it's fab and there's always someone about with a new idea or who won't mind sharing their recipe or checking online etc for you x

Thank you, I am registered online but not sure if to do red days or extra easy, what do you find best as I don't eat potatoes, pasta or bread

i do them all...but mostly green or EE for me.
have a look at my diary and it'll give you and idea of what things i have (its on the link here at my signature)

there's also a red day thread which will give you loads of ideas.

red might be best for you if you don't eat potatoes, pasta or bread?

what type of things have you been having? how are you finding it so far?x

I ended up having some chicken soup for dinner tonight as I don't feel too great. Got a bit of a sniffle today and a headache so fancied something small and warm. Did the trick I think - feel a little bit better now :)

Gonna jump in the shower soon and get an early night to hopefully kick it before the weekend.

How was your day hun?

Don't buy them from eBay. They are free from class so I would recommend trying to go it alone with help on here until the new year. Most women's magasines do a voucher for free membership in January so you can go to a class to get the books and not go back if you don't find it useful. That's what I did this year but a lot of people rely on the classes to help them through. If you don't eat potatoes or pasta then extra easy or red days are best for you. There is a red day thread that you might want to sign up to for inspiration. Good luck with it!!

my day's been ok other than the chocolate consumption...which really was for medicinal purposes lol.
it's silly but i feel today was a massive thing for me....1st day of star week and me managing to get to, and stay at work...you know how bad i can be so re the chocolates, not bothering my backside! it's not like i ate them AND my lunch then continued to have a blow out cos i'd had them.

had quorn chilli in my cheesy baked potato for dinner followed by fruit salad and it was yummy!

off now to cosy up with a hot water bottle....no goodies i don't think tho seeing as i've had more than my quota lol

hopefully your soup did the trick and you feel ok tomorrow x

I think you did amazing today to get through it without throwing up or passing out. The dextro sweets are great for blood sugar issues so maybe an idea to keep a pack in your desk at work.

Really think a trip to the docs is a good idea too hun just to see if there is something simple they can advise you.

I think im gonna do EE again tomorrow as I'm taking bf out for a meal (his 30th tomorrow). Got some hifi bars for breakfast and lunch is chicken with a jacket potato. We haven't decided where to have dinner yet so that will be a surprise :)

aww that'll be nice :)
i know i should go to the dr's....but i'm wary they'll investigate the whole diabetic thing when really i feel it's nothing to do with anything other than mother nature herself (b1tch that she is lol)
i get annoyed cos i never go to the dr's and any time i do (it takes a lot) i always leave feeling like it's a waste of time! i know they're under a lot of pressure but it annoys me when i leave feeling like that!

wonder where you's will end up for dinner?
december's def a hard month between birthday's and xmas stuff....i'm kinda happy to follow plan as much as possible but slack off a bit ready to start 100% after new year...when all the social things have died down.
lets face it, not socialising from january until round about now is the main reason i was able to be 100% for so long....but i'm relaxed in the fact that i know what to do and what i prefer so don't panic now about blowing it for days at a time...cos the truth is, when i try to be off it for more than a day or 2.....i'm desperate to get back to it lol x

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I'm away all weekend so have been more relaxed this week knowing I can have a really good week next week with nothing in my diary until the weekend and even then it's nothing too big to worry about. My sister and I will try to be a bit sensible while we are away anyway.

I think we will end up at either our local curry house, or out favourite posh restaurant depending on how bf feels. He thinks we spent too much money this weekend and maybe we shouldn't do it but I want to as it's his 30th. We will see anyway.

What's on for you today?

aww you's can't not do anything....it's his birthday but financially, december's hard enough without birthdays eh.
it's mine next week and i've asked my friend to come for a meal with us but i know she'll let me down at the last minute and on one hand, i get the money side of it....but my birthday's once a year and we do nothing together so it would be nice...and to be honest, i'd much rather she came to that than buy me a present.

we're nothing but trouble us december babies eh lol

today is green, DEF having the mac and cheese for lunch and NOT a handful of mis shapes lol (they were nice though!) and for dinner i need to use a pack of syn free singapore noodles i got from M&S at the weekend so might do those with some veg, quorn pieces and maybe syn some curry sauce?
not sure but that's the plan so far

you got a busy day today?x

Thanks Sparty, thats a really good idea, will have a look at your diary as well, hopefully keep me on track. i was thinking that a diary is a good idea as its makes you more focused

I think my boss has a busier day than me technically but as he is just back from his 3 week holiday and i have been covering his work i think i will end up helping out a bit. The next three weeks are pretty critical for the work we have been doing so it will be pretty high pressured but hopefully a successful outcome at the end of it!

Yeah I have a lot of december birthdays (me and bf plus 3 of my nieces and about 6 friends - all of whom are 30 this year!!!) Cant see us doing much on NYE - we will be too tired and skint haha! I totalyl understand what you mean about you would rather see your friend than have a present. I feel the same completely. And i also get annoyed when people let you down last minute - why cant people just be up front and say 'really sorry but im so skint...why dont i cook for us instead/go for coffee/get a takeaway/have a day out together or do something big in the new year when you first ask them instea dof not turning up!? Really winds me up becuase i would never let anyone down once i had agreed to do something.

Oooh your dinner dounds nice - i have some stir fry veg in the fridge that desperately needs to be used or i will have to throw it out (or freeze it i guess - i never know if its ok to freeze fresh veg still in their packets or not so i tend to try and cook it up first). Think I will cook that tomorrow night or it will stay in the fridge til i get back from Liverpool on Sunday lol. Need to have a good old tidy up at home as bf is likely to bring people round at the weekend while i am not there to kick them out at 4am hahaha.

I use my diary off and on but its a great way to get me back into the swing of things if i have gone off track at all. This week isnt a good one for me and it had been mine and bf's 30th birthdays so we have had lots of social things on and I am going away for the weekend too! I am planning some meals to get me back on track next week and ill try to post some up. Another thread that is brilliant is called 'delicious meals with minimum ingredients' by Chocko. Its a really great thread with lots and lots of ideas so check that out too!!
