Help needed for 1st day......

Well 10 weeks would be a good test to see how you are doing going it alone wouldn't it!? Why don't you reevaluate once that is over and you can stay properly to class!? Sounds like the best idea to me! I love all the support on here - wouldn't be without it really!

We have gone for quorn burgers and chips with salad and mushrooms so I gained an extra hex which is good. Quorn burgers are also something on my bucket list so that's another thing ticked off :)

Tomorrow will be EE for me. Bf hasn't mentioned going out with his dad for steak so I'm not going to mention it and plan to make kedgeree (which I have never made before but is in the latest magazine). Hoping it turns out nice :)

I've got in and had a bath already as bf is cooking since I feel rubbish. After dinner I shall be getting lunch ready for tomorrow and heading straight for bed!!
 
yeah...i think that's what i'll do - if i haven't rejoined already lol

think my friend is starting back on sw today too - she goes to another class and no one really knows i'm doing sw (still! lol) but if she's going to class, she can be my access to hifi's lol

hopefully a bath and an early night will sort you right out!
what quorn burger are you having?
i get the 2 pack from the chilled section (beef style with red onion i think) - those are free and they're yum!

thinking a mini milky bar and some hoops and crosses for my treats tonight. if i have that with a hifi light (other part of my HEb) i can savour the milky bar and it doesn't seem so teeny hehe x

Ah it's good your friend will be able to get you hifi bars. My sister is getting them for me as well. She lost 3lb last night in her first WI after Xmas so that's great for her. So pleased she went back to group.

The quorn burgers were just plain ones I think but bf melted some hexa cheese on them and they were yummy! I would def have them again - prob be a regular in my freezer now.

How were your treats last night? Have you got a plan today?

I feel absolutely shattered which it's great since it's first thing in the morning lol. Feeling a bit better though so that's good. Hopefully if I can get a good sleep tonight I'll be back to normal tomorrow!!

Haven't tried the frozen burgers but I did see them the other day, how many syns were they?

Great news on your sister, have you WI since Xmas get?

Other than shattered, how you feeling with the cold etc?

The frozen burgers are half a syn each so not too bad. I didn't realise that there were syn free fresh ones so will have to give those ones a try next time if I can find them in my local shop! I was thinking about shopping earlier this morning and how much money I have saved by changing my main shop to Aldi. There are still some things I can't get hold of in there but I don't mind nipping in to Morrisons or Asda in between to top up on things because the savings at Aldi are so good. Shame they don't stock quron products lol. (And still no sign of the cereal bars in my local one either!!!)

I weighed on 1st and yesterday and put on 6lb over xmas! Quite a lot but I did enjoy myself so i'm not going to feel guilty about it! Between 1st Jan and yesterday I stayed the same which I expected as I had a few off plan meals while I was in bed with my cold and it is due to be * week this week. So back on it properly as of yesterday and aiming for a loss next WI.

Cold is feeling much much better today - my sinuses are clear and the strepsils I ate before bed meant that I slept straight through instead of waking with a sore throat like the night before so think it's on its way out now thankfully! I am having a berocca at the moment for a vitamin c boost (not sure on syns of medicines etc but I am not going to count this regardless).

We have been chatting for a year now! :) That seems to have gone pretty fast!
 
aww i know....a year today since my 1st day ever on plan :D

great news you're feeling a bit better and rested better last night...always helps!

aldi do have some quorn products in the freezer (mine does) i saw the chicken but didn't pay attention to the rest cos that's all i was looking for...but asda have 3 for £5 just now and i got my chicken from there on sunday.

the burgers are about £2.25 for a pack of 2 so not the cheapest...but i like them better than the meat free burgers i'd tried before (from morrisons) and those were 0.5 each

thinking of using yet more quorn chilli up for dinner, had it last night and today for lunch but thought i could try to do a pasta bake with it and use my HEa cheese in it for dinner....can't face it again tomorrow tho lol,so whatever's left will def go in the freezer!

1st day back was ok...i got there this morning and thought EURGH! lol...the usual! but i kinda liked being back in the routine foodwise...grazing and having it all planned and i always drink more water too although i'm quite good cos i have squash in the mornings, when i come home, with dinner etc so get my 2 litres in esaily if not more!

I haven't seen any in my aldi but I'll have more of a look next time and see what I can find just in case I missed it.

My day has been ok - meetings most of the day so I'm tired now lol. On the train home now and gonna cook dinner and soak in the bath before bed! Another early one and I'll be back to normal.

I'm intrigues about having this kedgeree for dinner. I have only had it once and never cooked it. Hopefully it turns out ok :)

my day wasn't bad...what's this working malarky all about eh ;)

just making dinner now, i'm hungry...mixed the chilli with pasta, bunged it in the oven with some cheese but def not on the menu tomorrow!
not sure if i've had kedgeree before...hopefully it's yummy!

as for treats...not sure yet, will think soon though so i can post my food for the day..not used any syns so got lots to chose from :D x

Well i would recommend picking up the magazine and trying the kedgeree out. It was really tasty - something really nice for a change. Here is a pic;

I have used 7 syns so far and have some 5 syn treats that I could have but at the moment I'm waaaay too full from dinner lol. :)

Yeah I would def make it again - maybe not one of my weekly ones but it's great every now and then and serves four so leftovers too :) bonus!

I'm gonna have a shower and get in my comfies with a cuppa and treat. Ive got these new Club cake bars that look a bit like a Milky Way to try out so that's my plan for the evening :)
 
oh i've seen them...i pick that kinda thing up for my OH for work etc

have you tried the mcvities temptations? like a mint or orange slice with a biscuit bake?
they are gorgeous - mint one for me especially and i'm not sure i'd ever have one to count when i'm on plan....but had one over xmas...nom nom nom!!

i'm weary and def should try to get to bed at a decent time tonight...it's tricky cos this time is the time where we can chill ourselves so i don't really want to rush straight to bed...but it would make sense most of the time!x

Well the cake bar was nice but not amazing. I will happily have them but wouldn't buy them if they weren't on special offer in my local spa for £1 per pack. Nice and soft though. I also picked up a pack of blue ribband for £1 so my treat tin is looking full at the moment (until bf raids it!!).

Did you get to bed at a reasonable time? I should have gone earlier because bf then kept waking me up by putting on DVDs. We have never had a tv in the bedroom in my flat since we moved in but he set one up for me over the weekend so I could watch tv while I rested in bed with a cold and now the temptation to watch tv is tough to ignore for both of us lol. We are big fans of a boxset as well so it's hard not to just watch one more episode. At the moment I'm watching One Tree Hill and he is watching 24. (Seen those?)

Ooh I meant to say as well that we watched a new programme the other day called The Americans which was pretty good. It's about a couple who are Russian spies living in America. Looks like it will be a good series which is good since the blacklist has finished lol.

I've it leftovers for lunch today and porridge for breakfast. Dinner is chicken thighs, veg and roasties. I won't have time to do a whole chicken so this will have to do :)
 
oh i haven't seen that advertised...will def look into that - sounds good!

the early night didn't happen, ended up watching something on immigration and me and my OH put the world to rights lol, then i tossed and turned most of the night :(
never drink red bull or anything but was lying thinking "i must check syns for energy drinks!" lol

i've only saw the last series of 24!!! loved it and wished i'd watched all the rest! it was on over a full day last new year so we watched it then but i can see why people loved it!

love blue ribbands...but not sure they're worth the syns...too easy to snaffle it up in 2 bites lol, classics are a pretty good biscuit...always say i'm gonna have one when my OH gets them but so far, haven't!

today is green for me, mac gonna have some fruit soon then rice when i get to work, lunch is mac and cheese from the freezer and dinner is quorn burger

hope today's fast for us both...you especially cos i know you have to put the hours in! :) x

Words cannot describe my love for 24! i think its awesome and have watched all of the series several times. you will def love the earlier ones if you liked number 8 - ask around and i am sure someone you know will have a boxset to lend you. it is a commitment to watch it all but its worth it!

Annoyingly I weighed out my porridge this morning but didnt actually bring it with me so today is likely to be a hungry day *sigh*. i have ahd my lunch and all i have left to eat is an alpen bar but i think i might try and wait to eat that and just have a cuppa now. might help me last the day lol.

I think energy drinks are likely to be super high in syns - you might be better off getting a skinny cappucino from somewhere and having a caffeine hit rather than a sugar hit. i always count that as a hexa since i dont do it often. i thin kyou are meant to count it as a few syns as well as a hex.

I have been asked to share a part time job in the butchers :) I will be working one saturday out of three so that will help us out this year to get our finances a bit more straight. think i will take turns in saving it and paying it off bills so that way i get to enjoy some of it and some will be spent sensibly :)
 
oh that's good....you'll prob get some meat deals too or some freebies so that will always help!

think i'll be able to get some overtime this month too...not that i want to be there but i do want the extra money so will keep my eye out on that!

it's bitter cold here today....just want to snuggle up with the heating on but too many things to be done...at least it's the middle of the week tho ;)

typical about your hungry day when not prepared...i've not long had my lunch which was awkward trying to eat it whilst not on my break but didn't see the point in eating it when i wasn't hungry!

i always hear good things about 24 - my OH's watched them all so not sure he would again? and grey's anatomy - everyone raves about that but again, i never watched it.

the following is due to start back too so i'm well looking forward to that!

Yeah that's what I am banking on lol. I can get some bits here and there so I won't spend too much but what I do get will be great quality and a brilliant price. I like working there too - Should be really good. :)

How are things at work now? I seem to remember you having a change of hours or something a while back? Overtime always comes in handy doesn't it. I'm gonna use mine to treat myself now and then since I'm going to put more wages towards credit card bills this year and try to sort my finances out a bit.

It's quite mild here at the moment - I still have a feeling that we are going to get a really cold snap though but right now it is just a bit wet and windy.

Greys anatomy is not one I have seen either but I used to like ER so think I would probably like it. Dexter is another one I want to try - reckon that would be really good.

My day went ok - managed to survive without my porridge lol. Roast chicken for dinner tonight and I'm gonna make bf start it and I'm gonna do my 30 day shred DVD eeeeekkkk!! Promised I would get back on it this year and haven't felt well enough up to now. But can't keep putting it off (or can I!? Lol)

you might save money on food when you start there too...cos you'll be too shattered to eat! lol

my change of hours didn't go ahead in the end so no increase for me. overtime was few and far between but seeing as they won't employ any more people when others leave, its super busy so it's becoming more frequent...it's just a tricky one for me trying to make it work on days i wouldn't usually be in for childcare/school etc

just had my quorn burger and cheesy chips....it's sooooo my fav green day dinner ;) x

Children must be really hard to manage. But the option of overtime is always handy I think just in case any nasty unexpected bills are lurking round the corner.

Dinner tonight for me is mac n cheese but I'm gonna throw some bacon in there as well as I'm on EE today. Got kedgeree for lunch again today to use it up so I can't do green as per my original plan.

Feeling really tired again today - guess my body is still getting used to being back in the rat race!! What's your plan today?
 
totally agree with being shattered and trying to adjust to normality....i was shattered last night and attempted an earlier night but i tossed and turned, was up through the night and then my OH's work phoned twice at 6:30 this morning waking us (he's on holiday!) so i was frightened to go back to sleep cos i knew i would feel worse!

plan today will depend on dinner. i'll need to give the mac and cheese a try with bacon cos i bought a tub of that diced bacon from asda which needs used up...and i picked up yog for it last night to get some made for the freezer for lunches.
aiming for green but don't have both HEb's planned so it could change if i fancy something meaty for dinner

i'll need to look at the recipe for that and see if i have the stuff to maybe try it...yours def looked yummy!

hope your day goes ok today...i'm just off to get organised x
