Help needed for 1st day......

aww i know everything you've said makes sense...i dunno why it's bothering me so much lately - i think it's cos through december i obviously gained and i'm "expecting" results where as before, i never knew what to expect. i think i'm looking for the losses when i'm on plan cos it was a bit on and off for a month...but now it's not

i wear the same thing to get weighed but and looking back at my meals, there are lots of fruit/veg in and where i don't have any/too much with my dinner, i'll have fruit salad so it's there.

it's 2 weeks after * week which is when i'd usually have the gain but really, i wouldn't expect it to make a difference when i've kinda gone from one extreme to the next.

i did save more a few days last week and always measure/count my HE's...to be honest, last week was pretty much like a "normal" week except i made sure i had lots more fruit and veg, and water, cos i thought i'd get a decent loss with being back to work etc.

i've made a few of the usuals and have a big pot of broth on which is new...it's full of barley, pulses etc, lots of carrot, turnip, onion and leek, some cubed ham and i'm meant to add pasta too but i've no room....my pot's not big enough! lol

it's def gonna be a good meal instead of just soup so will see how it turns out.

i've been posting pics of all my stuff which has been helping cos i make that wee bit more of an effort to make sure what should be on my plate for plan is...and that's been keeping me going a bit i think

i'm gonna stick with it as always, but i'm just miffed. need to sort my head and stop the expectations but it's disheartening :( x

Tried the croquettes, they were nice.
Didn't use butter or cheese in the potato, instead I mashed them and added some chive cottage cheese then rolled them in the cous cous

Nice for a change ;)

Pleased to say I've had a good food day today...1/2 syn roulade with fruit for breakfast, gammon broth for lunch and this for dinner....

Yay! 10.5 syns will be had by the end of the day...was borderline en route to 105! Lol

Hope you've had a good day...thanks for the pep talk this morning x

Ooh those croquettes look lush!! Nice looking plate of food missy :) how did you like the broth?

The lamb kebab went down ok. Not sure if bf was overly keen and next time I would put some chilli in as we like a bit of spice. But it was nice for a change.

image-1781289824.jpg

I'm not sure if I can fit any syns in after it lol.

And as for the pep talk - that's why I'm here and I'm really glad you didn't let it ruin your day. It could have been a lot different so good for you keeping things in perspective :)

What's on the treats menu tonight then?

i've just posted on your diary with a link to the kebab recipe i use....it includes more herbs and spices...he might like that one better?

lets face it...it's never gonna be a patch on a proper kebab..but it's as close as we'll get plus we actually know what's in it hehe

loved the broth! didn't add the pasta but it was so filling! i've not snacked at all today and there's lots of it left so will have some tomorrow after work then think i'm going to nando's before the concert which is great cos i'll get the butterfly chicken, plain and cooked without skin, corn on the cob and some rice(2.5) so it's a great meal for a few syns and won't feel left out but be able to stay on plan ;)

it's a shame the broth is so thick cos i can't take it to work in my flask (would end up with all the barley etc stuck at the bottom) so one of those food flasks would be perfect.
will need to see how i go with it tho...hopefully i'm not farting like a trooper (bound to be tho eh lol) or bunged up (TMI) but my OH loved it....i felt like a proper wife making that for him to come home to lol

treats tonight are funsize crunchie and beef space raiders (yum!) and although i'm still miffed, i'm really glad that i've stuck to plan - it didn't seem like an effort...i'll just do the same again this week and hopefully see a difference next week?

best of it is, i thought my jacket felt much better on today than it had over xmas and i definitely feel less bloated, my skin is better etc so i just need to get past this wee bit and get back to where i was before....

meant to say, i bought a wee jar of honey to try a sticky chicken recipe. have you had anything like that? think it's just honey, balsamic vingegar and soy sauce but meant to be lovely?

how was your day? x

My day has been pretty good. Dinner was good - thanks for the other recipe. It def sounds like he would like that more so ill do that next time.

I haven't had much sticky sauces since doing SW. I did it once but it came out wrong (I think). I didn't like the taste that much anyway so I have been out off doing it again. I haven't even tried the diet coke chicken or anything. Have you tried that?!

Argh I'm SO jealous of you! Tomorrow will be amazing and even better that you have planned it all out so you will be on plan :)

That's the missk I know. Back with attitude and determination lol ;)

hope she stays...cos she was AWOL this morning! almost lost her lol

yeah i've done the diet cola chicken a good few times...not for a while right enough but i def prefer the fanta chicken.

if you like sweet and sour then get this on your list...don't tell your OH and see what he thinks of it... ( if he's a fan?)
it's really easy too and if you can grab a can o fanta zero (or diet orangeade) then you'll prob have the rest of the ingredients in already

i'm finishing work a wee bit early tomorrow so i can come home and prepare the lunches/dinners rather than do it when i get home.
finally managed to find one of tescos butternut squash and falafel salads (well, my OH did cos my local one doesn't have them) so i'm keeping that or work on wed when i do a green day cos they are listed as free!
hope it's nice...i see a few people on here have them so finger's crossed!

did you end up having any syns in the end then? x

I'll give it a go when I see a can of diet fanta around and see what it's like. Tonight I haven't decided what to cook yet - might do a jacket potato as I'm on green today. Either that or Linda mc sausages and mash is always a winner for me lol.

Finishing work early to get prepared for weds is a great idea since you will prob have had a late night tonight by the time you get back. What time you finishing?

Not heard of that salad but it sounds nice. I've only had falafel once and it was in the fresh cabinet in balls that were like coated in something I think. I wasn't too keen but I've heard that the flavoured stuff is nice. Is it made out of chickpeas?!

I did in the end. I was snuggled up watching a DVD in bed with a cuppa so I had a pack of Special K biscuit moments. Have you ever had them!? You get two biscuits for 5 syns and they are really sweet so def hit the spot when you need something. I had those so finished on 14 for the day. I tend to use all my syns if I can - usually between 10 and 15 per day!

Morning!
I've not had them before...are they a bit like the mcvities yog breaks you get?
I'm not too keen on those but do like the choc orange ones lol

I think falafel is made from chickpeas...but don't quote me!

Finishing at 1 so plenty time to get sorted, to be honest, I could prob cancel it and still have time to get sorted but I've not prepared lunch, figured I could have the broth again once I'm back I. The house.

Woke half an hr early today (so annoying lol) but just gonna grab a bite of something and get on my way

Should be on later but enjoy your day....don't work too hard ;) x

Haven't had the mcvities things before but they sound similar. Really yummy!

I am so hoping you are sitting down with a glass of something alcoholic in front of you after having had a lovely nandos. :) hope the show is as good as I know it will be!! Can't wait to hear all about it!!!

not long back...i'm shattered but buzzing - i've had a fab night!

Maroon 5 with a side order of Robin Thicke...not too bad for a school night ;)

Adam, however had clearly taken part in Movember and forgotten to remove it....gonna let him off with it this time seeing as he's a bit of a hottie underneath it...and also cos he sang "she will be loved" acoustic TO ME (lol) at the end.

stuck to the plan in Nando's...butterfly chicken, plain with no skin, spicy rice and corn on the cob. reckon the chicken might be free as it's 3.5 with the skin, the rice is 2.5 (although it's literally a teeny wee bowl so not sure if that's right!) but counting 3 for it all cos i had no sauce or anything.
had a mini bunny and now a wee pkt of space raiders while i unwind...not eaten since about 5 ish so if dinner was any more, i've got 6 left to play with

probably gonna wake up with a sore throat and full of the zzzz's...but it's been a long time since i've been out the door on a week night...really enjoyed myself and it was good to spend some time with my sister as we just don't usually.

hope you've had a good day huni :) xx

Ahh I'm so pleased you had a great time. Bet your sister enjoyed it too. Fan present in my opinion. Would love to do it for my sister as she loves Adam lol. (Apparently he is her next husband lol) shame about the movember look though!

Had a good day thanks - went green and had a massive jacket potato for dinner with some butter (4 syns but def worth it!) and some roasted veg on top with a mountain of salad. It was really nice for a change actually. I didn't have any treats last night as I had some cake in the day (someone at work was leaving) and I didn't miss having it so it all worked out fine.

Today is another green day. I've got grapefruit and yoghurt for breakfast and a cheese salad sandwich for lunch with some cherry tomatoes and crisps to munch on as well. Got friends coming over tonight for soup so I am saving a hexb and 4 syns depending on which one she can get hold of. I have already looked up the Covent garden ones that are low syn or a hexb. So it's either tomato and basil (4) or carrot and butternut squash. Both of which I'm sure will be lovely! The other Covent garden soups were really high in syns!! Think the next lowest was 11 so I hope she can get one of the above. If not I'll have to make up the syns later in the week.

How you feeling this morning?

oh your food sounds yummy today!

eurgh! i'm shattered and my throat is ever so slightly fragile lol....but to be expected!

i'm also running later & stupidly decided to wash my hair (to save me time tonight) so i have my hair to dry too!

hope it's a quick day!

will post later chick...need to dash x

how has your day been missy?

i survived lol, and thankfully, work went quite quickly...phew!

done all the duties and gonna get pj's on soon and settle. kinda glad that i washed my hair this morning and don't have to do it now....although i was flapping a bit this morning!

had the butternut squash and falafel salad (from tesco) for lunch today - loved it! it was really really nice, and great for a wee change.
it's listed as syn free but unfortunately, i can't get it at my local tesco...my OH picked it up at a tesco metro near his work in town the other day...i've hinted that he can pick those up for me as and when the fancy takes him ;)

had quorn burger and sw chips for dinner and pencilled in a funsize mars with space raiders to have soon - yum!

not had a green day since last thurs...it's not like me ;) x

Morning hun! Yesterday was a rushed but otherwise ok lol. I was meant to finish at half 4 but then my boss put a meeting in at 5. I managed to negotiate it back to half 4 to follow our away day afternoon (zzzzzzzzz) and told him I had to leave at 5 as I had plans. So at 5:15 I jut told him I had to leave as we were still meeting. So then I had to run for the train, walk home and do my DVD before 7 when my friend was coming over for dinner!! Managed to do it (just lol) and im pleased i didn't skip it just because I had plans.

So we had soup for dinner (hexb) :) and she also brought some fruit over and some low fat angel delight. (Have you tried that stuff? It's like a flavoured mousse?!) anyway i had never tried it and split between her, bf and I it was only 4.5 syns so I thought I'd give it a try. Bleurgh!! Gah it was horrible lol. I forced about half my bowl down but wasn't keen. Bf loves it though so he was happy lol.

It was nice having soup but I was pretty hungry by the time I went to bed. I was about to have somehow which would take me over my syns but bf had some leftover pasta so I chopped up a bit of salad to have with it and ate that instead. Probably shouldn't have eaten so late but i know I would have woken up hungry and didn't want to do that.

I've done two green days and one red so far this week. I find green days a lot easier than I used to - I used to favour red really but it does get expensive with all the meat you have to buy. Today I'm doing EE and need to get some fruit on the way in from somewhere. Are you back on green today then after a few days break?!

Phew...you were a busy wee bee right enough! Hopefully today is a bit better for you?

I did 2 EE, a red then 2 EE so yep, green today :)

We watched the first episode of something called hostages last night, was on channel 4 and quite good....look it up

And the following is back next week - yipppeeee lol

Need to make mac and cheese for the freezer today, notice the yog for it is up today so I'll cook that then it won't go to waste ;)

Other than that, nothing new to report, off to work in 5 so I'm away to get sorted...hope it's as quick a day as yest was for me! Lol x

I got mac and cheese out the freezer last night to have for my lunch today and bf asked if he could have it (guess its a winner after all!!) so I will be making that again over the weekend to store up for lunches. Now that bf is back at work I will need to make double the amount of lunches so that he doesnt go hungry. Sandwiches mostly I reckon but if I make a chilli or something he will want that lol.

I have got lots of spinach and mushrooms in as well that needs to be used up so I might make the cannelloni again over the weekend to do for a few days. I've bought the packet of cheese sauce from Morrisons that is 5.5 syns as well so I might make a lasagne next week and freeze a couple of portions of that as well. My lasagne makes about 4 servings so it only works out at about 1.5 syns per serving which i didnt think was too bad.

Luckily I am not too busy over the weekend so will have time to cook some bits. I might even see if I can pick up a can of the chickpea dahl and give that a try! What do you put in yours when you make it into a loaf?

I get mines from asda cos I've never seen it in morrisons or tesco and didn't like Aldis one

I make beef savoury rice as instructed, stir in the tin of Dahl, add 2 eggs and cook it in the oven...it's a staple as you know lol

A while ago I'd make a smaller one from half the mixture and with the other half, add onion, spice and some smash flakes to thicken then have onion bhajis too :)

Hope your day's been ok xx

Had a good day thanks hun. Bf made his amazing salmon dish for dinner and the best thug about it is that without even adapting the recipe it's only about 4 syns!! Amazing :)

All snuggled up in bed now. How was your day?

mines was ok thanks...nothing exciting - work was bearable, then i was zipping about here and there afterwards.

popped to morrisons then came back to make the mac and cheese...ended up having some of that for dinner and freezing the rest (got 3 portions out of half the recipe) but i dunno what i missed....it doesn't taste the way it usually does....will do a trick for lunch tho

just been watching "the undateables" awww...bless lol, have you seen it?

managed to get a bag of cod fillets today so gonna have fish for dinner tomorrow (wwwwoaaw, ANOTHER EE day for me! hehe) but thinking i could coat it in cous cous like i did with the croquettes? either that or maybe smash....i know the debate but it would be minimal!
should've just picked up proper breadcrumbs but i'll give it a bash....don't think i'd season the coating though so that i don't lose the taste of the fish?

they're cook from frozen but i've left them to thaw in the fridge - figured it would be better to coat them rather than when frozen, and if i cooked them first then coated them, they might crumble?
who knows but i'll give them a bash....looking forward to that with some sw chips...and vinegar...mmmm

what you got planned for tomorrow? x

Your fish and chips sounds lovely. I would defrost and coat before cooking as well. Dip them in beaten egg and then the coating (won't mention food abuse pmsl). If yours turn out ok I might try it next week and make some mushy peas to go with it :) bf will love that. I have some plain couscous in the cupboard that will work a treat. I so hope it works for you as I know you don't really cook fish all that often.

For me today is EE. I'm having leftovers from last night for lunch (yummmm) and my hexa and b is porridge for breakfast. I'm off to the gym tonight with my friend (after I have shredded first!) and then she is going to cook us a stir fry for dinner. I've brought an emergency mugshot to eat at about half four so I'm not too hungry when we go to the gym but I'm not planning a huge workout since I've been shredding and don't want to tire myself out too much.

Haven't seen the undateables but I've seen the adverts. Not sure if it would be my kind of thing or not but my sister loves it lol. We ended up watching some masterchef while we had dinner - now that's my kind of programme!! ;)

You up to much this weekend?
