Help needed for 1st day......

Argh god I hate sleepless nights. Get yourself tucked up early tonight hun and hopefully you will feel better tomorrow.

Mac n cheese was ok tonight but I think I put a tiny bit too much salt in there so now I'm thirsty as anything lol.

Today was loooong lol. Really pleased that tomorrow is Friday! Thank god for weekends :) what's your treats tonight?
 
Oh...was it ruined? Of edible but not as good?

Treats tonight were mini malteser bunny...still my stash from last year lol, but saw them out again for Easter so picked 2 bags up and will start a fresh stash lol. Love them for 3 syns!
Had crisps too and a Greek muller earlier do only 8.5 for the day!

Had a totally sh1t day at work...I just hate it but I'll never get hours to suit elsewhere for the same money etc...feel trapped cos i can't start early or finish late due to school runs etc so it limits me a big bit :(

Not to worry...needs must eh!

Ah it's horrible when you are going through a rough patch at work. Is there any way you could transfer over to a different department or anything? Maybe a small change in role would perk you up a bit!?

I love malteasters too! I haven't had one yet but I will get a little stash going too I think. It's 3 syns for the whole bag of mini ones isn't it!? There are about 5 in a bag!? Brilliant 'value' lol.

I had a mcvities cake bar, some crisps and a few syns on milk as I was on EE and had my hexa in porridge plus a few cups of tea so not a bad day yesterday.

I'm doing green today so got porridge again for breakfast with some grapefruit (for a change) and lunch is mac n cheese, grapes and 2 alpen light. I am debating on just having one and having the other half a hexb later as WM bread so I can have a chip butty :) I'm going to do SW chips tonight and probably have some Linda McCartney sausages to go with it. Always feels like a 'naughty' dinner lol.

It was edible and I think a lot of the extra salt came from the bacon on reflection. The portion I have for lunch hasn't for bacon in it so I guess I'll see later. It was fine but I just don't put a lot of walk on my food so when I do I notice it a lot!!

lol...nope, EE for me i think. took chicken out the freezer and bought the coconut greek mullers to try.
thinking of mixing some curry powder in with them and leaving it on the chicken for a bit before cooking...to make some kind of curry?

the mini bunnies are 3 syns each....god i wish it was for all 5! lol...but just as well you said that or you'd munch the whole bag plus another 12 syns hehe

can you imagine that every night for a week...we'd be puzzled at WI day haha

i'm going onto another line of business for a few weeks to help with the peak for january...but it's just a different type of abuse then lol, i've been struggling but had a total clown to deal with yesterday and it just got to me big time..very challenging and hard not to let them get to you all the time.

a few days off is bound to help plus my concert on tuesday so not in the full day...looking forward to that!! ;)

i want to try and make some sw friendly fish fingers using cod soon i think...if i bought the frozen cod pieces, and coated them in either breadcrumbs or smash, do you think it would be nice?
really fancy fish & chips so that might work?

woke this morning feeling much "flatter" before i got out of bed....ha, that sounds mad...but i always feel my tummy in the morning and can def tell the difference for being back on plan :D x

ahh ok - glad you cleared that up for me lol. I like the big ones which I think are about 7 or 8 syns. I think for syn value penguin bars are still my favourite. I can make them last ages lol.

I thin kyour curry idea sounds really nice. You could also make the curry with a passata based sauce and stir the yoghurt in at the end? I am sure I have seen variations on this type of thing but either way I am sure it will be lovely. How many syns are the greek mullers?


I reckon your fish and chips idea is perfect too - you can serve it with some mushy peas and make it just like the real thing. If it was me, I would probably go for breadcrumbs over smash - and i think there are some you can buy that are a hexb actually. I worry that smash wouldnt crisp up enough to make it seem like the fish is coated properly if you know what i mean. Def one to try though - and please let me know if it works as bf would love this lol.

is this the concert you booked for your sister as a surprise? Did she love it?? oooh I am jealous!
 
Yeah, she got her ticket on Xmas day so I was finally able to be like woo hoo! Lol

I couldn't get cod when I was out today, but think I'll def try it at some point.

Dinner was lovely, the yogs are 0.5 each, it was a throw together but I mixed curry powder with yog and left the chicken in that while I chopped and fried off onion and mushrooms. Added the chicken, put done chicken stock in, let it bubble then added some more yog to stir thru and warm before serving. We both loved it...I'm fussy when it comes to curries but this was nice and simple too!

Ahh your curry sounds yummy! I made the spinach and mushroom cannelloni from the new mag tonight and it was lovely. Really nice and probably will freeze well so will do for lunches. Would def recommend it.

I had a green day today and it's been really good. Still got a hexb left so I'm gonna have some of the ryvita mini things in a bit. Managed to find some on sale in morrisons for 94p for 6 packs.

How had today been for you!?

I've been working from home today but my friend came over to work with me so it wasn't too bad. Over to bf's Mum for dinner tomorrow but they always have a serve yourself policy so I'm planning lots of veg and meat with just one or two roasties :)
 
hiya :)

today's been fine for me thanks...almost decided to have a day off when i wanted to order in for dinner but i didn't....polishing my halo lol

my wee one had a sleep over last night so i took them swimming and for a mcd's today, i got noodles and some chicken in black bean from a little noodle bar which was nice. it's just like a spud u like in the sense that it's a tiny wee bit where you get noodles/rice and the choice of toppings.
i know it's 5 syns for a portion from the chinese so i'm counting 2.5 which should cover the 2 spoonfuls and the noodles i think? if not, i've saved plenty of syns thru the week so not gonna stress ;)

had tuna mayo with spring onion, hasselback potatoes and salad for dinner and going to have a mini malteser bunny with my hifi and some crisps soon
so all good :D

i dunno if i like spinach...but i always think a lot of the recipes look nice. and your dinner sounds ideal tomorrow - better that you can take what you want than be served a huge plate and not want to leave anything!

yep, the curry was lovely...just right for me and will def be making it again

i'm gonna head for a shower soon then settle to watch the tele - taped The Americans from last night but it's the 3 episode and i can't get the 1st two at all...not online or on demand so dunno whether we'll be totally lost if we start from this point?x

Ah yeah how did teeny get on? Was he ok at the sleepover? I bet he loved it!! :)

This evening I'm just chilling on the sofa watching rubbish in the tv :) perfect night in for me lol.

Argh I totally forgot all about that programme and bf didn't put it on series link! Doh! I've put it on now so we will give it a try next time it records and see if we can follow it lol.
 
he got on fine staying there last week (slept til bloody 9.15am???!!!!) ....this was another one at my house...all was fine (again) but they were up too early! lol

did you watch the 1st 2 episodes? maybe you can fill me in, i'll watch the 3rd then tell you about that one? ;) x

I watched the first episode but haven't seen the second one. Bf is gonna try and find it so if we do I'll let you know where you can watch it.

I've done the 30 day shred the last three days - aching but feels good to be getting some exercise in. Making a SW quiche to have for breakfast to save a hexb which I will use for oil that is bound to be on my roast dinner later :)

What's your plans for the day?

I just made a mini one with mushroom, pepper onion and eggs so just enough or breakfast really. I haven't made a big one for a whole (since the salt incident with the last one lol) so I must do one soon.

Need to plan meals for the week tonight so I'm prepared. Tomorrow will be a red day for me and I'm going to try out a recipe my sister recommended for kebabs! You cook mince in a loaf tin and then thinly slice so it looks like donner meat. I've got some WM pitta breads and loads of salad so hopefully it will taste as good as she says it will. Other than that I'm stuck this week so I'll look through my magazines tonight for some inspiration.

Other than that tonight is ironing for me *sigh*. It's coming out my ears at the moment. :(

aah the salt incident...made me chuckle (NOT funny tho - sorry) and i do remember it :(

i've done the sw kebab before...you can make it free by using e/l beef mince which i've tried...but it's worth the syns for the better taste if you get lean lamb mince (cos getting extra lean is IMPOSSIBLE!)

my day's been ok...made synfree pancakes for breakfast and had those with fruit, went shopping (and discovered i no longer have any access to SW or the app now:( ) and just had dinner.
cooked the chicken and i'm also doing a red day but i wasn't too sure what i wanted. had cooked sausages earlier and had a sandwich earlier but had 1 left so made a wee "picky" plate up with a bit of chicken, some seafood sticks, chopped sausage, cheese cubes, pickles and beetroot...it was lovely, really enjoyed it and i'm full up! got fruit salad to have afterwards but too full now lol

also made the 1/2 syn roulade for the 1st time too....hmmm...it's no swiss roll lol, but it's edible but making the pancakes and this today has made me think that surely that's gotta be classed as food abuse? i know there are lots of opinions on the smash pizza/cous cous cake/lasagne sheet crisps but if i eat the whole thing...it would only be half a syn...yet when would i ever sit down to 4 eggs?? (not to mention the 2 from the pancakes this morning?)

obviously it would impact if you had these all the time which i haven't...but do you get what i mean?

found a recipe today for potato croquets where you mix cheese and some chives in with mash potato, shape them and coat them in (already prepared) cous cous (ainsley harriot's roast veg one..don't suppose you know the syn value for that?)
i thought they'd be worth a try...i love potato croquets and not had them for ages so think they'd be worth a bash...and surely a wee coating of cous cous for a few of them would be ok every now and again?

Well the lamb mince I got is from the butcher and I minced it myself so it's pretty lean :) I'm funny about all the fat so I didn't mince it all lol. I'll syn it though as I know I'm supposed to! Do you know how many syns it is?

I know what you mean re food abuse and I agree if you were doing it all the time you would need to think about it carefully. I don't think that you do though so I wouldn't worry too much. It's def food for thought though. For example, sometimes if I am cooking a roast pork dinner I cut up and apple and chuck it in - technically syns! I'm not synning that as I don't do it often but if I was doing it all the time I would rethink.

Your food today sounds yummy. My friend made some low syn cakes and says they are ok for 2.5 syns each. I think I would just prefer some 'proper' pudding and syn it though to be honest. Give me a bit of chocolate over a flour free cake any day :) lol.

I like the sound of the croquettes as well. I would def give them a go and see if they come out any good. I've got some plain couscous in the cupboard so I would use that instead of flavoured. His couscous is usually about 1.5 syns for the whole pack I think. So barely anything considering how much you would need for some croquettes. (I'll check the syn value for you online if you remind me tomorrow as I have my sisters log in details lol).

Wonder if they would freeze ok as well!? Then you might be able to cook from frozen to have a quick dinner!?

You're in a great position to get extra lean lamb if you only mince the actual meat? But it's 2 syns for 100g of lean

Morning. Hope you enjoyed your treats last night. WI this morning and I've lost 2lb. Good start I think.

I'm having a red day today and have lots of SuperFree for breakfast (mango and grapefruit) and a yoghurt. Lunch is soup and a slice of bread (half hexb), crisps and grapes. Plus I have a hifi bar to make up the hexb.

Dinner is going to be these lamb kebabs in pitta with salad. All planned out but I can feel a hungry day coming on lol. I do have some food at work but not really suited to a red day so if I cave in I will have to skip the pitta tonight and have an EE day. But it's doable.

Didn't sleep too well last night so already feel like I've done a day's work. :(

cooker isn't on yet :-O lol, it's not like me but we snoozed the alarm so cutting it fine...we'll need to leave in about 15 mins so i'll just wait til i get back.

i was the same re sleep last night...feel really sleepy but once i hit the cold, i'm sure the creases will straighten out a bit and i'll be wide awake! lol

food sounds good today...i'm gonna try a broth recipe i got on here, so it'll need to be EE i think.

WTF?

gutted...absolutely gutted and p1ssed right off :(

can't work it out...cooked mega last week, was 100% on plan with syns saved every day.
back to work meaning little but often, drinking more water, and looking back at my food last week there was lots of fruit and veg, every meal was on plan and included soups, scan bran cake, salad etc

eurgh! feeling so much better for being on plan but just gutted and not sure why it would be a gain :(

did i come home and open the cream egg biscuits i got my my OH...no.....i ate the rest of the 1/2 syn roulade with fruit salad like a good girl....i'm so off it :( x

What were you wearing? Your usual sort of thing for a WI at group?

You have always saved some syns since you started - you never use 15 do you? Did you save any extra ones than normal this week? Some people find that not using the syns hinders them so if you did that could contribute.

Or are you near * week? Or it could just be one of those annoying unexplainable weeks!

Yyou have always been very pragmatic and took the rough (gains) with the smooth (losses) and said 'it is what it is'. Gains have never phased you before but recently they seem to be. Why do you think that is? Could it be because you have decided to stop going to group and you are worrying about making it on your own? Don't be! You know you are sticking to plan - you KNOW you are doing what you should be doing.

The main thing is not to let this throw you off track - so well done for avoiding the creme egg biscuits when you got home! keep going hun - I am sure it's nothing you have done wrong. Maybe read over your books again and go back to basics - make sure you weigh everything including hex's and have lots of superfree. And maybe try having your 15 syns a day and see what happens? I know that worries you a bit but its an option to think about?!

Can you throw your anger into planning some new meals or something to keep you focused?
