Help needed for 1st day......

Well I lost 1lb so I guess I should be happy! Shame I didn't get another 1lb to make up for last week but at least it's a loss!! When are you going to get a chance to weigh?!

Hope it goes ok at the dentist today - annoying when something like that ruins your routine! I assume you are cooking up the usual today?!

I'm on EE today and I'm having soup for lunch and bacon and chorizo pasta for dinner tonight. I'm going to try and save up a few syns this week as I have plans on Friday and Saturday night this week so I'm aiming for a maximum of 10 per day.

What's your plan food wise today?!
 
well done on the loss! have you measured yourself? i bet you've lost inches too??

gonna try WI before i head out so within the next hour...prob won't be pleasant but at least i'll know why! lol

no idea on food plan for today..prob EE to be safe. gonna cook the usual stuff once i'm back but i've got some "muffins" in the oven just now - soaked porridge oats overnight and added 2 eggs like i was going to make magic pancakes...but i've put them in the oven instead. dunno what they'll be like but got 6 out the mixture so all of them woulde be my HEb or 1 syn each.

thought i'd give them a try cos they might be handy for a quick bite in the morning?

if they're edible, i might try them in a toffee yog and have them with banana....will report back lol x

No I haven't measured although a do have some old measurements written down somewhere so I could compare with those I guess. My friend told me I look thinner and she thought I would have lost 3lb so I guess the shred is making a difference even if I can't see it myself.

I worked out how many syns it would be for a chocolate cake mix last night and including buttercream it would be 46. So if I can make 10-12 cupcakes out of the mixture that would be 3-4 syns each which I didn't think was too bad considering. I've been struggling to find a SW choc recipe I like so seems more sensible to make a smaller version of something I already like!!

that doesn't sound bad at all for choc cake - shame it's not free eh! lol
what about crispy cakes...do you like those?

i picked up a bag of revels in the garage this morning...8.5 syns for the packet and i think that's pretty good...not had them for ages so they're in the fridge to syn in soon i hope ;)

cheesecakes are a big thing here and a few places are trying sw versions which are 6 syns a slice...not too bad but i'm yet to try!

1 on today...not too bad and hey, i've had more on for being 100% 7 days lol.
so i'm ok with it really...i had indian on sat night and * week is due tomorrow so it could have been a lot worse and i'll get that off ;)

was thinking about weighing on friday morning if i'm not working, seeing a total weight loss for the month of january then maybe weighing every 2 weeks or once a month instead...what do you think? i suppose it would be a good reflection rather than weekly but i know i'd be miffed if it wasn't 3 or 4 lbs a month which shows a steady loss?

chasing my tail now but the porridge muffins...don't taste a thing like muffins lol, took some in the car with a yog to eat this morning cos i knew i would be starving and i suppose it's something different.

still not sure whether it's green or EE today...was gonna do another red but i "tested" the savoury rice before i mixed it together for the dahl loaf lol.

saw a quorn roast someone on the sw facebook page had asked about syns and its meant to be syn free...thought it looked nice so might look out for that when i'm shopping next x

yeah i like crispy cakes - i think i still have the magazine from easter last year where it talks about all those sorts of treats and how many syns they are.

I'm not a cheesecake fan at all - just cant stand the texture - but I cant see how they can make them lower syn? unless you can use some marscapone cheese as a hex maybe? That could work i suppose - or use quark?? Would that taste awful?

I'm not sure how weighing once a month or fortnightly would work for me tbh. I know some people do it and i can see the reasons for it, but i think i would let things slip since i wasnt weighing for 3 weeks for example. i think the weekly weigh helps to keep me on track. It could potentially work for you though as you are very disciplined and rarly deviate from plan so i suppose you could give it a go?

Would you change your weigh day to Friday then instead of Monday?

quorn roast sounds good - do they do joints then? havent ever seen them around.
 
i've thought about changing to a friday...but i'm wary that i'd eat whatever over the weekend thinking "aww it's ok...i still have 5 more days until WI" and that isn't ideal lol

i get what you mean about the risks with monthly...i wouldn't want 3 iffy weeks then a good one to try compensate...hmmm...i'll give it a think

i dunno if quark would be any good but really, i could syn the ones i make by counting the biscuits for the base, the philly and say white chocolate. 10 choc digestives for the base would be about 850 calories for a start! oh, plus butter and i guess the philly could count as HEa?

what will you and your OH do for valentines...anything special?

i've just asked my OH if we're buying for each other...i've already got him a huge box of thorntons but i think it's silly to buy when we don't need anything after xmas!
we've got a wedding the week after so that'll include dinner etc...valentines would just be another excuse for a day off plan when really, it doesn't need to be!

Bf and I usually just buy a small token present and either go out for dinner or he makes a posh dinner and we get a bottle of wine! This year we are going out to our favourite restaurant in the town where we live. They are doing a set menu for £40 per person for 3 courses and you get a glass of bubbly (although I get two as bf doesn't drink it lol). I've bought him a top I saw that I Thought he would like and it was on sale so even better!

Bf made an amazing dinner tonight - a deconstructed fish pie (he has been overloading on masterchef lol) and it was really lovely. I know you don't like fish but check out my diary. I've put a pic up! And only 3 syns! Amazing!
 
Morning! Green for me today. I've got a cheese and pickle sandwich for lunch for a change and dinner is spinach and mushroom omelette and SW chips. :)

I did well saving up some syns yesterday for the weekend as I only ended up having 7. I didn't snack on anything after dinner but I woke up hungry today so I've brought some porridge to work for breakfast!! I never used to snack at night but I guess my body has got used to it now lol.

What's your day looking like?

i woke about 4 and my tummy was rumbling like mad! maybe we need bedside table snacks lol

green for me today too i think...
fruit and a boiled egg shortly then some rice and berries later at work.
got mac and cheese for lunch and not sure what dinner is...something with the pack of quorn mince i have in the fridge i think?

i was talking about spinach last night...don't think i've had it so was asking my OH what it's like - if he thought i'd like it.
it's really good for you isn't it? must give it a try some time!x

It's packed full of iron. Fresh spinach is really nice and literally takes about 30 seconds to cook. All you do is rinse it in cold water and pop it into a pan to wilt it. You don't need any water in the pan as what you rinse it with is enough.

At the moment I have frozen spinach which is a bit mushy. Bf won't eat it as it's a bit too gooey for him lol. But frozen is perfect in curries, cannelloni or lasagne, omelette and even on top of WM pitta pizzas! Worth a try if you see it shopping hun.
 
I might pick a wee bag up to try it...what's the best thing to try it with first do you think?

Just heading into work, feeling really queasy but ate my fruit and took some tablets in case Mother Nature makes an appearance while I'm here :( ah the joys eh! Lol x

I think the spinach and mushroom cannelloni is a good one to start with. Will let you know how my omelette turns out later (never tried it before). Its worth bearing in mind that the frozen stuff has tons of water in it so is not going to be any good for dishes that call for it as a side. it will be good for things that have spinach 'in' it like cannelloni or even curries. I really want to give saag aloo a try!!

My day has been ok. My boss has just got back from a long weekend in Milan and brought back a huge panettone for everyone to share in our team meeting today.

As you know I'm not one for puddings apart from choc so I don't like it but lord it smelt amazing. So full of cinnamon!! Yum!!

I have used 6 syns today and planning a free dinner unless I decide to use some cheese in my omelette for dinner (already had both hexa). I have some popping corn so I might have that as pudding with some sweetener. Not bad for a syn free snack lol!!

i still love the savoury packs from sainsburys for 2.5 - so worth it!

my OH picked me up one of the BNS salads today..it was reduced cos it's up today...i've told him i better not die tomorrow from food poisoning or i'll bash him hehe.
i also asked what i do if i open it and it's all smelly and off...he told me to go buy a pie and bill him...if only eh hehe

my day's been ok, made chilli from the small pack of quorn mince i'd picked up...it's made loads though (by the time everything was added) so it'll do the next couple of days or for the freezer - bonus!

* week arrived this afternoon but so far, hasn't come to much which means a good chance i'll wake up ill in the morning...if that's the case, i'll face the shakes, sickness stuff so for once, i'm REALLY hoping it does it's thing tonight...not hopeful but i might need those bedside table snacks after all - to stop the passing out feeling i get when my sugars drop...fingers crossed eh!

just set my alarm half an hr earlier to get up and wash my hair so the plan is to head to bed earlier tonight...that's THE plan anyway :rolleyes: x

Aww hun I hope you feel ok tomorrow!! (And here is another reminder to go to the doctors!!!!)

The popcorn is just the corns themselves. As they aren't popped yet they don't have oil or anything on them it's a whole food - so no syns. At least I've been told no syns - starting to worry now lol. I have just put a handful in a saucepan with fry light and then heated it til they popped.

Once it's done I mix in a teaspoon of syn free sweetener (the power kind that you can use in baking). I'll have to double check this on the SW website!!!

I bought a 500g bag of corns for 17p in morrisons so it's a bargain as well!

25g of popped popcorn would be quite a bit i imagine...i get 11g in the wee bags and i think they're great...not too bad really cos for a couple of syns you could half the amount and still have a munch?

i've been lucky the last 2 months that i've been no where near as bad as i can be...but i know it has a lot to do with the time of day, if i've eaten etc...i'm sneaking short bread to bed for emergency thru the night medical requirements pmsl!

got myself a date with "hostages" a packet of hula hoops and a mini milky bar so i'm away to get settled :D
