Stay upbeat, keep the goal in mind hon and you'll be fine. xx

what i dilema, but imo i think i agree with the others about going ahead. Your uncle sounds as though he's thought this thru quite comprehensively & fully understands both his side of things & the need for you to have this done.

Morning, thank u all so much for all ur posts, sorry i cant respond individually as i can barely manage to sit here at the pc:cry:  as my sciatica has been so bad for the past 48 hrs and the i had to drive for about 3 hrs yesterday all in all and my legs and ankles are so swollen:cry:
Anyway Mr H my consultant was such a lovely man made me feel so comfortable and i felt the right vibes with him.
He was absolutely horrified to find out that i had a gastric balloon 8 yrs ago and never had it removed and said i must of been one of the first peeps to have the surgery done as it was a new op 8 yrs ago.
He also said that he was shocked that my gp had not referred me to a specialist to get checked up for breast cancer and said he is going to talk to me another time about going to see a specialist unit and partake in gene study tests to see if i have the unfortunate genes to have breast cancer becuase of my family history.
He aggreed a bypass was right for me and asked me how come i did not go along the nhs funding route as over 90% of his patients manage to get funding from their local pct, he then asked me which borough i live in and i told him Enfield nand he said that he is still fighting with them for a few clients to get funding as they r not an easy pct to grant funding for weight loss surgery.
He then said to me that i have to have an xray to see if the balloon is still there in my belly and if so i will have to go on his endosocopy nhs list and have it removed which would take around 5 weeks then wait 2 weeks for my tumy to heal then have my op, well i felt gutted big time, so off i went for my xray at around 7.30 pm, lucky it was a private hopsital as they had really top notch equipment as i have been told b4 because of my size it might be difficult for a xray machine at my local hospital to see if the balloon was there, but at the wellington the subject was not even bought up.
So i had my first xray and i said to the radiographer can u see anything yet she said no but will do another xray bit higher up and then she said she can see the balloon but i should wait to see the consultant to be double sure, i said to her pls can u tell me its my birthday and i am dersperate to have the op and the consultant has gone home plssss can u tell me and she then took it to her boss and after around 10 mins they said there is def no gastric balloon there, god knows where it has dissapeared to as they said it is made of sillicone so it cant really rot but mine has gone
so no endoscopy for me
So to cut a very long story short my surgery is booked for the 8th may
and i start my pre op diet on friday which is a liver shrinkage diet its atkins diet and i have to follow it to the letter as if my liver has not shrunk enough then they wont operate also protein helps u recover after major surgery.
Well i am shattered and although excited am in alot of pain with my sciatica and could not sleep get 2 b4 3 am as i had so much going on in my head, so many emotions, am off back to bed after aaron leaves for school, just wanted to come online and post.
Thanks 2 all of u for soooo much support and although i have not been posting much recently as i have been having hard time phyisically and emotionally u have not forgotten me and thank u so much for that.
Take care xxxxxxx
