IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

My inlaws used to live in a flat like your one, Jo - ie 27° with the windows open. They live in a ground floor flat (individual heating now) and it's still too hot although they seem to think it's fine.

(Wouldn't like their gas bill).

We have about 23° in the kitchen where the range is, 21° in the living room which is next door to kitchen. I don't think I'd like it any hotter.

i went in the lads room last night and he had the oil heater on ....it was like an oven in there i turn it off .....our heating is on for 2 hrs morning 3 evening and has been on 22 this week got a really cold wind blows through ill fitted windows though

It's funny but while when I first enter the flat in the evening it feels warm, by mid evening I'm putting a cardigan on if I'm just watching TV...

I'm preparing thick jumpers for my Dad's place, mind, cos he doesn't feel the cold (so doesn't think anyone else ought!)... and it's not as if I can just put another log on the fire alas!

Get a blanket cardi wrap thingy, I love mine and have bought a few as chrimbo pressies, great for an extra layer over clothes and no size issues.

But, at 27°C, ought one to need one?! Anyone would think my bones were really near the surface!! (Good idea though for at Dad's place!)

its mild as here today but been told to expect the return of ice by Sunday night

as promised...

last night... guess where!

Those photos are gorgeous! It's all so pretty. I've steered clear of the Leeds german market this year telling myself it's too overpriced anyway, which it is but it's still fun. I'm glad though overall - it would have ruined my good start on the diet, and there's always next year once I've lost it all!

Great photos Jo ! :) Lovin' the chocolate stall :D....ooh yes

and you look so pretty in your gorgeous coat :) great cut and colour! :) it REALLY suits you! x

wow amazing photos

Beautiful photos thanks for sharing. Agree about the chocolate stall! :D

I just wanted to record this in my diary cos it annoyed me...

NB for anyone who doesn't know me - this menu is not Dukan.

Sat
40 mins walk at 8am - to market round and back!

breakfast - 1/2 grapefruit + Dukan muffins

lunch - lean ham, salad

1hr walk

snack - bowl homemade pumpkin soup

Dinner - beef (which had been pressure cooked with mushrooms, fat free stock cube, onion and frozen) served with steamed white cabbage and home grown carrots

evening - pear + orange

Result on the scales? +600g (over 1lb)

That irked me. Will teach me not to weigh each day as it's probably a gain from Friday's carb evening treats which only cost me +100g yesterday morning!

I am ever concerned at my ability to gain weight, mind...

I bet the excess weight is gone when you weigh in officially, Jo.

Love the photos - you're looking great. Had a bit of a drool over the cheese stand and seeing kilos of nougat piled up is quite impressive too (mind you, I had the equivalent of millionaire's shortbread piled in my kitchen on Friday!)

ah Jo thanks for the pics - you look stunning :)
and im sure the cheese stall one was for me.
looks magical wish i was there :( xxx

Morning diary... and thanks girls...

My day yesterday wasn't as bad as some Sundays and I did walk loads (including 45 min walk alone to the market at 8am! Never normally do this but was mega motivated!)... but I stayed off the scales nonetheless.

One thing I did buy at the Christmas market were some magic scarves. Heard of them? Excellent idea! Here's how to use them if you see them anywhere. Nice and cheap gift too!
