IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

Come to Cambridge it never seems to snow much here! Of course you'll be wading through snow drifts *on the way*... :)

we wont get any settling snow ...you can all come here

Eagerly opened my curtains this morning hoping for snow and... sleet + lots of wind. hmm... black ice forecast for half the country, but ever hopeful to get to my country haven without too much trouble.

Likely to be a MEGA busy day at work today (replacing absent colleagues) so wishing you all a good weekend.

1lb up on last Fri weigh in but two BAD lunches this week (which, while I enjoyed them at the time, caused me lots of problems afterwards as I just wanted to eat and eat and eat! "Voices" shouting loudly...)

This does worry me a lot for the Christmas period cos, despite the best laid plans... I easily gain a stone in a week... 12 days could be very damaging (hence my alternate day idea IF I can stick to it!)

Just stay strong - you really are a woman after my own heart - I could put on a stone in a week too!! In fact it is quite scary when I think of the weight I have lsot over the years and put back on again - what if I had never lost any - would I really be 25 - 30 stones now?
I won't let you have any cake in Neros!

im another easy gainer ....thats why i have a 3 day off limit and then back on the treadmill

Thanks Mouse! I rely on you to keep me on the straight and narrow! I've probably eaten my Dukan muffins in there surreptiously before!!

So now it's out! Mouse and I are going to meet! Now that she's said where, I won't say which day or time else we might have all sorts of weirdos coming (and I don't mean you lot!!).

x

morning Jo :) or have you finshed work?

morning Jo :) or have you finshed work?

She'll maybe not get into work, Vicky - snow is bad in Paris, apparently. As the cities aren't used to it and there's no room for snowploughs, etc, because of parked cars, the snow doesn't really get cleared. It was bedlam in the wee town near us when we had loads of snow a couple of weeks ago.

Hope that you're safe and warm, Jo. I imagine that the pavements aren't salted either?

Hope you get over to the UK safely!

Ah right thanks laura. I think she comes to the uk tomorrow?

hello quickly!

I'm here but manic at work replacing everyone and meetings...

Lunch in a mo with two of my bosses... somewhere "nice" (read "high calorie"!).

Coming to UK tomorrow night yes hopefully. Snow in Paris fine now. I was in Burgundy (minus 12°C when we arrived Friday night, 20cm snow in the village Saturday). Lovely! A bit hairy to get to the supermarket in the morning as snow falling (and some idiot in a 4x4 overtook us when visibility zero, the prat!)...

No probs getting back to Paris, where all had melted last night... been snowing all morning but doesn't lay for long here.

I'll be appreciative for any UK travel news, particularly tomorrow end of day... Dover to Hampshire overnight!

hope you get over ok ....news at mo is snow heading that way this morning but should die out ...other have gone from Devon to reading and coming back wednesday , so roads still just about usable

Oh lunch sounds 'nice' Jo.
do report back on the yummies :)

Well the main roads are ok in Hampshire Jo. I am working from home today because the roads in the village are very icy, and I can work from home so why bother going out. My colleagues living around Andover and Swanmore have all go into the office ok. OH works in Dorset and it seems worse the further west you go, at the moment.

Thanks ladies! I'll appreciate more news tomorrow... I'm not crossing until almost midnight tomorrow (I'll be the one curled up zzzzzzzz'ing in the corner somewhere on the boat... cos I'll have been up 18hrs by then!)

Lunchwise I went with the flow and the others chose Italian... so Calzone for me, and tiramasu. Calorie free I'm sure cos no guilt felt.

Any of you like foie gras? (even if you don't think about how it's made?). Well it's a big thing over here, particularly at this time of year, so I ordered some special stuff from someone with a family member in the catering business (ie good and cheaper than usual stuff). This morning, she told me that with lorries being prevented to move at the moment cos of weather, family member had told her it was unlikely she'd receive it in time. I just heard that she's got it, woooooooo!! So tomorrow morning I must go and collect! lovely jovely...

Right... back to work...

oh sounds nice Jo. And oh yes didnt you know guilt free + not paying = calorie and carb and fat free :) happy days

Oh yes yummy foie gras. i love the stuff - enjoy!

Morning Jo, no more snow here overnight and the M3 is clear. It does look as though there is more white stuff forecast for tonight in the South East - sorry. - but that may change of course.

Yup, I love foie gras. I reason that it's less cruel than keeping animals in bad conditions - most of the foie gras birds have great lives wandering outside. That said, we're not having any (here) on 24th as daughter wants frogs' legs, the icecream yule log is bought (for the kids - I'm having Christmas pud), and nobody can decide what else to eat. We'll be having soup/light meals on Christmas Day because our Christmas Day is happening on Boxing Day (SIL:mad:) so at least we'll escape indigestion!

Meal sounds good, Jo. Absolutely no carbs if you eat it with no guilt!

Hope the snow stays away for you - we're still snow-free and mild outside - lovely!

morning Jo. Hope you have a safe journey back and lok forward to having a chat on the phone :) when do you go back to france?
