IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, try try try again and again (and again...)

mmm what else can we leave in here !!!! creme egg wrapper anyone ?

opps quick hide the evidence

Mmm I'm always up for a party even at this time of morning :)

Jo arrives <licking her chops in case any evidence of creme egg consumption remains>

Ladies - there are PHOTOS of the meet in an album attached somewhere to my profile if you can find them! There are more, but have Tan and Mouse's men in them, so I'm awaiting permission! Mine stayed behind the camera!

So I've read Tan and Mouse's reports of the meet. We arrived a little early, so drove around checking out ponies... and Mouse introduced me straight away to the chickens! Rich even stroked one! It was lovely! Mungbean was a little frightened of us though!

Holiday - well I stuck to some of my resolutions, and have some positive and some negative comments. On the positive side, I made a point of going out early each morning for at least an hour's stomp around the streets (I found 8am a good time to disappear with my muffins in my backpack, while others downed toast, butter and jam <aaaah> and then I'd meet them an hour later somewhere en route for wherever we were going!).

I weighed in this morning - drumroll - 500g LIGHTER than when I headed off (if the scales are ok, cos OH was surprised also not to have gained more!). How did I manage that? Basically, by staying away from anything sweet, carby, alcoholic and/or "fun". That's part of the negative - I ended up getting myself rather upset/annoyed/irked by people constantly pushing food and drink on me. Not getting the message and just generally getting on my nerves! (My other half says I need to be firmer, and just tell them to b** off! But I tried explaining on day one. Then day two... and again and again ad nauseum.).

I sat through people eating delicious looking desserts my first Saturday at a pub beach at a restaurant, while I drank black coffee; then those same people ate starters at my birthday meal, while I preferred waiting for main as did one other person, then they promptly all (but one) announced they were too full for dessert. That REALLY pi**ed me off. I refused to be the only GREEDY person. I think I had a tantrum (aaaah), cos a second person suddenly found room for some icecream. BOO GRRRR..

But, basically, for me not to lose the plot, the only method I dared try, was to eat Dukan only 99% of the time. I had my birthday off and (another negative) stuffed as much as possible in when no one could see me when I got home that evenin... I then PP'ed or PV'ed right to the end when I took Saturday "off" for a friend's BBQ; thoroughly enjoyed the food (some Dukan ok, most not), and had a glass of bubbly... and ate some of chocolate... then got home at 10pm and polished off three slices of WHITE (aah!) bread and jam, thickly buttered. I even went out into the garage, where our stuff was packed up ready for packing the car yesterday morning, so see whether I could FIND ANY FOOD! NAh! All was packed neatly, despite my best efforts to find something - ANYTHING - to eat. I did also "inhale" at midnight the last two creme eggs I'd given OH while he cleaned his teeth, much to his amusement when he came to eat one himself the next day! PATHETIC.

In the car yesterday, rather than my usual UK --> France binge, I opted NOT to go for a last shop at Dover (knowing what I'd buy) and instead ate PP only stuff...

So success on the weight front; pathetic on the behaviour as per. I'm such an all or nothing person!

PHOTOS IN THE ALBUM under my name.

My cousin sadly died on the wedding day so I'll be back for the funeral... whenever they can get though to someone to get one organised!

will defo check out the photos - so jealous!

sounds like you've done a really good job on the food front Jo, well done, and i wouldn't worry about the odd temper tantrum, it sounds like you managed to remain calmer on the whole than i would have done. a massive congrats on having LOST weight over the break, when you were so sure you'd end up with a gain.

so sorry to hear about your cousin though, that's really sad - my deepest sympathies.

overall though, a hearty welcome back - it's been so quiet on here, and we've really missed having you around!

Welcome home Jo - lovely to have you back. OH fine about photos.

So sorry about your cousin.

Well done on the food front - that is brilliant!

<whispering to Mouse> Mouse, what do you think Tan means when she says "Jo is Jo"... :( Is it that I'm so shy and retiring? :D It's funny really cos I always get nervous before meeting people, so then bluff it out with seeming confidence!

I'll wait for Tan's response re OH before posting him all over internet!

Your garden looks lovely! it IS lovely!

We actually had a nice meal in the end in a very Dukan friendly Harvester on the way to the pub we talked about but the traffic was horrendous around there so we turned round and went back to the Harvester we'd seen (unlimited salad with a TINY portion of salmon, buttered new potatoes which I donated, and no sauce. Sounds sad really!!) No pud either!

Welcome back, Jo. Sorry to read your sad news though and hope that some comfort was gained from being with family.

Off to have a peek at photos.:)

Sorry about your cousin Jo.

Well done of minimising the off the railsness, going back to pp/pv days and not saying sod it the whole time.

<whispering back> not sure - just that you are you - uniquely lovely - but not sweet -that 's me :D

It was lovely to meet Richard properly - I was very taken with him despite the butchering talk :D

Wonderful photos, Jo. Thanks for posting them. You ALL look fantastic! I especially love Scrumps' t-shirt.

You've behaved far better than you'd feared, from the sound of things, Jo. You even managed to lose weight - how fab is that! The bingeing sounds very like something I used to do, almost as though it's impossible to stop yourself once you start and makes you feel so bad afterwards. But you've managed to get through all that and come out well. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. Your family seems to be having a particularly bad time recently.

Hello WELCOME back!! We missed you.

thanks for sharing the pictures - glad you had a nice meet!

Sorry to hear about your Cousin :-(

And finally - well done on the food front! So please for you with the outcome.

Hmm not the most understanding people you were spending time with :-( and good on you regarding the ??tantrum on YOUR birthday meal. Next time lay down the beforehand rules for them - "I would like us all to share a nice meal so leave space for pudding!!"

Hidden food - been there, done that. I completely see the attraction of buttered bread... If DH goes to bed before me is always dangerous... Not this week ;-) I'm on 'strict' rules...

Anyway just wanted to say hello, not sure how much time I'll get tomorrow.

what to say that hasn't been said ? :)

well you've done fabulously with the foods/weight, in the real world we'll all behave just as others do at feast times....scoffing down something we shouldn't and then feeling the guilt afterwards....seems part of life for most - definitely for me!

I've not been an angel this easter/wedding/bank hol time... better some days than others but once again taking back control of the only thing I can food....when all else goes to pot around me....find me with a face full of food and a house in mid-cleaning uproar...it's some sort of OCD....

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss, did you know your cousin was unwell? Is your Gran any better?

To echo what has already been said, you've been missed and it's great to have you back :)... was nice reading about your encounters with Tan and Manda....:)

hope you have a good day hun x
