Can u use it in desserts too? Xx

I haven't tried it but I assume so, it tastes just like soft cheese :) You may need a bit of sweetener though, I know my aunt's used it in cheesecakes before :) 85p for a 250g tub in Sainsburys/Tesco, it's usually with the shelf continental cheeses rather than with the cheese spread!

edit/ Meadow Churn Quark 250G - Groceries - Tesco Groceries - it says ideal for baking so I suppose you can :)

1. Creamy bacon pasta - nine ProPoints

Sauté half a diced courgette, two (20g each), chopped bacon medallions and some garlic in calorie-controlled cooking spray. Cook 60g (dry weight) wholemeal pasta, drain and return to pan, adding 80g quark and courgette and bacon mix. Serve with 2tsp (10g) grated parmesan.

Prawn and smoked salmon pasta

ProPoints(TM) Value: 11
Servings: 4
Preparation Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 15 min
Level of Difficulty: Easy

No time to cook? This delicious pasta dish will take you only 30 minutes to create.

Ingredients
300 g ( ) pasta, tagliatelle or linguine
150 g ( ) snow peas
125 g ( ) low-fat quark cheese
3 tbs ( ) Weight Watchers , Sour Cream
400 ml ( ) skim milk
150 g ( ) smoked salmon, sliced into strips
150 g ( ) Prawn, king, cooked, thawed if frozen
2 cup(s) ( ) cherry tomato, (halved)
3 tsp ( ) fresh dill, plus extra to garnish
Instructions
Cook the tagliatelle or linguine in a large saucepan of boiling, lightly salted water according to pack instructions, until tender.

Meanwhile, simmer the snowpeas for 4-5 minutes until lightly cooked, then drain well.

Put the cheese, sour cream and milk into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring with a whisk or wooden spoon until smooth.

Drain the pasta, then return it to the saucepan and add the snowpeas, salmon, prawns, cherry tomatoes, dill and sauce. Season with a little black pepper. Stir together over a low heat for about 2 minutes.

Share between 4 bowls and serve, garnished with a little more chopped fresh dill.

I recommend just using low-fat soft cheese for pasta because Quark has a bit of a yoghurt like taste tbh.

Made a cheesecake, tasted so good that I ate it without taking a picture/letting it set, opps :p It was very filling too!

The chocolate 'mousse' without the base would only be 3pp for a huuuge portion, definitely recommend it. You could use options hot choc to change the flavour and add fruit for a very indulgent tasting dessert :)

I wonder if you could use it on top of a trifle instead of cream? or is it a bit too cheesey for that? Xx

Yeh I like quark for deserts like cheesecake but for savoury I always prefer soft cheese which is pretty low in points anyway and doesn't have that strange tang to it! It's quite nice in a crust less quiche though just quark eggs and whatever else you fancy chucked it - nice hot or cold :) x

The cheesecakes and mousses sound really good Jaly. I haven't bought Quark for a while - might get some next time I go shopping - I have some flavoured Options in the cupboard which I don't particularly like as a drink, but think they'd go well in something like this.
