JanD into the third year of maintenance :-D

I know I am Bev :D

LOL! Tan - you're right of course!! :D

Gained 0.6lbs .... I guess not too bad considering all the meals out etc last week .... I'm not completely decided about how to go forward this week but it'll probably be another week of 'food' and see how it goes with no outings!

Here's my latest painting by the way ... it's my sister & bil's house in Cyprus. I've done it for them for Christmas but I have a feeling she won't be particularly impressed .. she's very critical ... Ah well  xx

I'm glad the small gain has kept you incentivised to continue the good fight. Here's to a good food week for you.
The painting is a nice pressie to get. I'm sure they will be pleased.

That pic is great Jan! I thought it was a photo when I first saw it attached!! She should like it, it's great.

If she doesn't like it then what an ungrateful cow! That pic is fab, i love it! :D x

OMG!!! I'm flippin' worn out !!! What a 24 hours!!!!!!!!!

Last night I got a phone call about 9.20pm. My daughter had been taken ill at work and was being driven to a&e ... the hospital she works at doesn't have one. Her heart was racing and she felt very light headed and as if she was going to pass out and this feeling was worse sometimes than others.
She was taken into 'minors' in a&e - was transferred to 'majors' soon after we got there and then was transferred to resus as her heart rate kept spiking to about 180 and they needed to keep her on a constant monitor .... it was a bit concerning to say the least :(

To cut a long story short it was/is either SVT ... Super ventricular tachycardia or ST ... Sinus tachycardia ('scuse spellings) apparently ST is preferable ... ??
She was kept in for observation overnight and was discharged this morning with medication and an outpatient appointment. I've insisted she stays with us for the time being - she's accepting but not entirely happy .... I don't care, I could never forgive myself if anything happened to her when in her digs on her own!!!!
I don't mind admitting it was pretty scarey ... especially when her heart rate was spiking and she was panicking coz she felt so awful ... pins & needles all over, as though she was gonna pass out, she couldn't move her arms or legs and was really scared ....

One thing to come out of it was I got to do something I've always wanted to do ...... ;) ... I do a CPR refresher course every year and one of the things you have to practice is calling for help .... well I've always wanted to do it for real (in an odd way )

Well last night the first time jenna 'spiked' when I was there - she was getting really scared ... which in turn made me really scared though I tried not to let her see of course, so I quietly went out of the cubicle and said to 3 people sitting at the 'station' (admittedly they were all doing things ... screens, notes etc) .. 'my daughter's struggling - could someone come and see her please?' ... They sort of looked at me, smiled and carried on with what they were doing ... I went back to her cubicle where she was getting worse and worse .. I tried to gesticulate to John for him to go and get someone (without Jen seeing) but he didn't get the message so in the end I said ... very loudly! .... "Excuse ME, can we have have some help here please!!!" :)giggle:) ... the 3 of them ran over and she got the attention she needed and deserved!! (TEEHEE it felt sooooo good :giggle:!!)

She seems okay just now but I'm a bit wary - obviously .... Why is my family so dramatic??!!!

I'm flippin' worn out with it all ... I've taken Mum out to christmas shop and to sainsbury's in between going to pick Jen up, to her flat to pick 'stuff' up and put her to bed here ....... :sigh:

Food???? Suffice to say i haven't been bad but i'm having a good few V&Cs tonight. It was 3am by the time we got to bed last night ... tbh .. I don't really know where I am!!! Not moaning ... I'm v v v v v v v happy that she wants me and I'm able to help :D:D xxx

Oh Jan what a dreadful experience for you! In such situations, even though common sense tells you all will be well, it's natural to fear the worst. You are right to insist she stay with you till she is recovered.
Hugs hun and hope you get some rest tonight!

Thanks Molly .. I should do, as her girlfriend is staying too so will be in closer proximity than me .... KIDS!!!!!! ;) xxx

Aww what a scary experience Jan. I do hope she is ok now though! And you're 100% right to insist on her staying. No questions :)

Hope she gets better soon. Is the thing they said she has something for life? Or just a one of thing? I've never heard of it before xxx

Apparently it can just happen ... for no apparent reason .. and then never happen again ... though there are those who get it regularly .... here's hoping Jenna is one of the former!!!! xxx

Oh wow well fingers crossed she's the latter :)

Eeeeeeeeeerm .. well .... if it's all the same to you Tan I'll wish for the opposite ;) xxxx

Oh dear Jan sorry to hear about your daughter :( Hopefully its a once off xxx Big hugs xxx

Omg soweeeeeeee I meant the former!! xx

Oh Jan, what a 24 hours!! Must put your mind at rest a little having her back at home, don't blame you for insisting on that!

Hope she gets better real soon and hopefully you had a deserved night's sleep.

Oh dear, what a scary experience it must have been for all of you. Happy to hear she has been discharged though, and good luck to her for her out patients appt. Poor thing, she must have been terrified.

PS, the drawing is beautiful Jan :)

Thanks for the kind words ladies :). She had one episode in the night and another this afternoon. They were scarey, but not as bad as the worst ones she's had. Hope she gets appointments through soon and gets it sorted!

Last night was a dead loss food wise :(

Today - Wednesday 16th Nov

No breakie - got up V late with starting work tonight

Lunch - turkey ham salad wrap with el salad cream.

2 bitesize chocolate brownies (85 cals each) at art

Tea - Pan fried pork shoulder steak with carrot & swede

banana

Work - wafer thin ham salad wrap with scraping of ww soft cheese & el salad cream. 2 boiled eggs. x

Oh that's a pity that she has had more episodes. How long will she have to wait for an appt? It's a worry in the meantime.
Hope she is enjoying Mum looking after her!

Don't know how long it'll be Molly, they're sending it in the post. I haven't actually done much 'looking after' as her girlfriend's stayed with her but it's nice to know she's close. GF has to go back to work tomorrow (she threw a sicky today!) - but then I'll be in bed, but at least 'there' if she needs me, and John will be around. KIDS!!! ;) x

Ah she's lucky to have so many who care for her. I hope she gets answers soon.
Take care xx
