JanD's Maintenance Diary. Into the 2nd year :o)))

looking good still Jan (even with the odd wee blip)...I did that with the dates...just love dates, AND they lived in the freezer for weeks AND, yes, the usual AND one day when I had one of those heads on (a few weeks ago mind) I ate them all.....as hard as rocks but MOREISH..hehehehhhehehe..tut,tut..

Dates are very high re: GI and cals as they are quite sugary! I remember being gutted when I found this out as I could eat a whole tub of them!!! ah, wel...never mind, like you say maybe one day! They are better for you than loads of chocolate.

Tell John I am very disappointed; with all this lovely sunshine you should be sitting out there with v&c and enjoying the lovely flowers, etc!! TUT, TUT.....

I hope all goes well in Cyprus Jan....I am sure you will cope admirably, just bite your tongue and remember that this is mum's holiday....cause you know there will be many things that bug you ;-)!!! But you are made of better stuff and will make it all ok for your wee mum..bless.

Well I'll certainly be doing my best Iris and I'm sure my tongue will be bitten to death ;)

I'll be sure to tell John what you said ;)

Friday 9th July

When I left work I was really hungry so I knew I'd have something at Mum's. When I got there I was pleased to find there was some left over stew on the stove so I had a few spoonfuls of that. Much better than what I COULD have had!

Breakie - 1 weetabix, berries & skimmed milk

Bed

Tea - Pilchard salad

Mum's - A nectarine & some strawberries

Work - Phili light & salad wholemeal wrap, pear. xx

Quick question though - does 1 weetabix fill you up? I would certainly need 2 weetabix, plus the berries as I would still be hungry after only 1.

Thanks Mary - I felt okay about the stew and then only had 1 weetabix. I don't know why I was so hungry, usually when I have something at Mum's it's a want rather than a need but it was deffo a need this morning  xx

No 1 weetabix wouldn't normally be enough but because I'd had the stew it was to sort of make up for that. And I WAS going to bed so even though I wanted something else I managed to resist and got myself off to bed instead! xx

Aint it strange how we are all different eh!
You can't go to bed after nightshift unless you eat something, and yet I am completely opposite, I very rarely have something when I get home, just straight to bed, then I have something about 1pm.

The only rare time I eat in the morning after work is if Phill is up and going somewhere, then I might have a cuppa and a piece of toast or something.

I know it's weird isn't it? I'm always really ready for my breakie when I get in and couldn't go to bed that hungry. But then I don't get up till about 5-6pm.
It's breakfast I want too - not an evening type meal even though it's the end of my day. I've noticed Tan has breakfast when she gets up in the afternoon. When I get up, although I couldn't face anything immediately, when I am ready for something I want my evening meal, not breakfast. :D

If I didn't need to eat before bed it'd sure help with the weight control ;) xx

Like today, I got up at 11:20 (I sleep terribly on nights) and I had some honeydew melon straight away, then I had my porridge about 1pm and then back to bed.

I guess if I slept like you, then I would probably be after something too, I just wish I could sleep from 7am until about 3pm on nights, but I cant.

I did go back to bed this afternoon and managed nearly 2 hours, but at least its only one day with me, as tomorrow I get up about Midday with it being the first of my four days off.

I couldn't survive on sleep like that. Obviously there are exceptions when I HAVE to get up for various reasons but on the whole I get about 6-7 hrs, usually with 2 interruptions for the loo ;)

I'm convinced that's how I've been able to stay sane through 24 years of permanent nights, making sure I get my sleep! :) xx

I suppose if I did more than 2 on the trot it would put me in more of a pattern, but with only having to do 2 shifts of nights, its different I suppose. Like tomorrow, I tell Phill to wake me at 12, so I dont lose out on my day off, but if he didnt wake me, thats the day I could sleep probably until about 3.

I will be up about midday tomorrow, take me an hour to come too, couple of cups of tea, shower, then I begin to feel more human. Should be on the voddie by 6 ;-)

Yep nights is all about the sleep! And I always have brekkie as soon as I get up (unless it's run day) as I'm always hungry first thing :)

You must be mad surviving on so little sleep Mary. Weekends I get up early as to not 'waste' it but otherwise I'd sleep for hours :giggle:

HaHa - love it Mary ... Wine for me tomorrow ;)

OH! Just had 4 squares of choc  xx

When I was younger I could sleep forever, but since having kids, my sleep has been much lighter - unless Mr Smirnoff comes to visit me :)

Enjoy the wine Mrs D :D
Chocolate - now I could just eat a little bit of chocolate, but thankfully there is none here.

Wine for me tomorrow too jan  .... You joining in too Mary?!!

I do believe Mary's on the V&Cs tomorrow (see above post) ;)

It's no good we'll have to get Iris up to speed .. or maybe we're better with someone to 'keep an eye on us' LOL!! :D:D xx

Ah yeah I see now! By 6 - good going ;) :giggle;

Saturday 10th July

Had a shape zero at Mum's because I was going shopping and needed something.

Breakie - 2 weetabix, berries etc

Bed

Tea - I had a Morroccan Tagine kit in the cupboard that I got in Morrison's weeks ago so I did that :( ... Too hot for me :( - That'll larn me, I'm perfectly capable of making my own morroccan stuff without buying a rotten kit!! It was 240 cals + a chicken breast + half a small tin of toms so not bad fortunately. Actually it will have been less than that because I didn't have half, DH had a larger portion than me.

Got a packet of velvet crunch crispie things (83 cals) which I'll probably have later.

AND the wine is under way (surprise surprise :)) xx

Edit - Had the crisps AND a slice of corned beef & a tsp of egg & bacon sandwich filler  x
