JanD's Maintenance Diary. Into the 2nd year :o)))

Silly sod ;) ... yes I know - I started it!! :) xx

How is your son now Jan? It's important he gets his rest in his line of work though and that he has enough time off. Believe me body armour is flaming heavy so he wouldnt want to be wearing it sooner than he should lol.
Iphone apps are great aren't they? I've got the ageing booth one, it doesn't bode well!
Your menues are looking good, especially now the colder weather is setting in, I'm sure it's tempting to eat more. Well done on showing such restraint with the haloween choccies too, you did so well not to clean them out hahaha!xx

He's doing okay thanks Jayne. He's off for 2 weeks and then 2 weeks of light duties so he should be fine :)

Thursday 4th November

Funny morning .. Had to take Mum to an ear clinic and hadn't eaten anything since 3am so had the crust of a small wholemeal toasted with some peanut butter. Then when I got home I still couldn't go to bed as I had a plumber coming to fix the uptairs loo so ...

Breakie - Porridge made with water with splash of milk, berries and splenda.
Piece of soda bread with hummus when he'd gone. (Does this mean I had 3 breakfasts?)

Bed

Tea - Half a tin of 5 bean salad with some turkey breast, tomato & cucumber, a splash of balsamic and a slice of soda bread

Work - exactly the same as tea and a pear.

I'm loving the soda bread - a bit too much in fact. The only problem is - when I checked - it should have been sourdough bread I bought not soda bread  ... Mind you, looking online I'm thinking it might actually be better GL wise than white sourdough. It's dark, it's heavy and it's bitty - the only trouble is it's a bit too nice!! xx

POO!! Gotta edit to add a trojan bar, a weeto bar and a toffee :( xx

Glad your boy is doing ok jan :)
3 breakfasts .... Lucky you!!!!! It's my fave meal of the day - especially on weekends ;) lol

Soda bread hey - what's the carb & cal content on it? Is it better than wholemeal?

Sorry for the million questions!x

I'll have a look for you me duck and tell you tomorrow :) xx

Looks good compared to the roll I had and was thinking of getting for next week. It has less cals and carbs per 100g but also less fibre! ...... Might give it a whirl ;)

Soda bread is a big thing over here :D. They have it with fry ups generally instead of normal toast (not that I partake in fry ups anymore )
What do you think of Soy and Linseed bread? I think it's nice - especially toasted with some banana on it nom nom nom!!
Potato bread is also popular here, it is yummy!! Prefer it to soda bread, however I seriously doubt it is healthy eating-friendly

The Irish do love their potatoes don't they :giggle:

Jan! Don't beat yourself up woman .... A day like this is needed sometimes I think. As much as we don't like it!

Hope you get to bed soon as I see you are k nackered :giggle: xxx

Aw jan it's not as if you ever really have many of those days tho is it?
You are generally very good and looking at what you've eaten its not as if you've gorged yourself on anything - nothing that can't be sorted out with a couple of days of being good at any rate.
soda bread is tempting - fruit soda is lush. Love it with lots of butter on for breakkie!!
Today (well when you wake up) is another day. Put yesterday behind you as a bad (yet yummy) day ;) xx

Awwww thanks guys  I'm feeling a bit of a ..... hmmmmm ..... was going to say failure but I know what you'll say - exactly what I'd say to you if you said it, lol! But I'm sure you know what I mean. I feel like I'm unable to control what goes into my mouth when I'm trying to eat 'healthily', for more than a couple of days :(. It seems I need to be on some sort of stricter 'regime' & right this very minute I'm a bit fed up and just wish I could be 'normal' (whatever that is!). I know it's temporary and I'll snap out of it but that's where I am right now.

I've put 3lbs on since last monday - if that doesn't shift by monday (highly unlikely) it'll be 4 wi's on the run that I've gained ... unacceptable, so I'm thinking what can I do to shift it? THEN we're making plans for tomorrow and we want to go to a Sunday Market in North Wales (where they have FAB breakfasts/bacon butties etc) and when we go there we always go to another little one on the way back (where they do GORGEOUS sunday dinners etc) .... I'm sure you'll identify with the assessment of places by the quality of the food! :(

So of course now I'm feeling sort of "every time I go anywhere I'm never able to enjoy what's there" which I'm sure you'll understand as well.

I'm full of cold which doesn't help  .... oh dear .. haha .. I AM feeling sorry for myself aren't I?

Ah well - confession time from this morning

Saturday 6th November

Mum's - piece of Parkin with clover, cookie, crust off nimble toasted with clover & peanut butter, teaspoon peanut butter, chunk cheese, 3 mini meringues with spray cream. (And I was only there for 3/4 of an hour!)

Tesco's - Bueno

Home - Vanilla & Almond danish, 2 slices soda bread with soft blue cheese, pkt yoghurt coated raisins.

Bed

Since I got up and got weighed I haven't felt like anything so I won't have anything until I do ... except the wine of course :party0036::(

Fed up :break_diet:

Awwwwwww Jan! :hug99:
We all have these days and you are right we would tell you that your not a failure exactly what you would tell us. You are doing brilliantly - please cheer up :D :D :D :D

Totally understand not being able to be 'healthy' for more than a few days (just look at my weekends) but I'm sure you would say this to me.... What is normal??!!!

Now mrs, bloody enjoy yourself tomorrow and when you are ready and feeling better I'm sure you'll snap back to it xxxxx

Awww fanks Tan ... Course I'm thinking 'how can I flippin' enjoy meself (ie EAT of course - which is psychologically questionable in itself!) when I've been such a pig and am dreading wi on Monday!'
But you're right - I WILL snap back into it - I just hope it's soon!!

Thanks honey xx

You will Jan :)
Enjoy yourself, face your weigh in on Monday and then hopefully you can get back to it :) xxx

small tin of ww beans at 11pm :4633: xx

Never fear Jan!! You rarely overdo things for too long. I am sure your weigh in will not be as bad as you fear. In any event, you always have such fab discipline and will row it back over the coming week.
Have a nice day to day at your market and all the lovely food stops along the way. You can make healthy choices and not do too much damage ( says she who is off to a buffet lunch today!!!)

Thanks Molly :) I hear what you're saying and you're right - it's just sometimes it seems like such an uphill struggle! I'm probably a bit weak because of this dang cold!!

Sunday 7th November

Breakie - Berries & ff from frais

Lunch - (out) Roast .... lamb, 1 roast potato, carrots, cabbage & about 4 tblsps gravy.

Tea - grilled salmon fillet, toms, cucumber, radish

V&Cs xx
