Jim's lazy Atkins diary

She's settling in and if we don't find out where she belongs she's going nowhere - she has shocking timing though - we have a few things booked in the next few months and we can't have her injected for 7 days as she still officially belongs to persons unknown. That means we can't put her in the cattery for at least a month as she has to have two injections before she goes in - we will be going away for a couple of days in that time and will have to recruit someone to come in and see to her as both our previous cat sitters (we haven't had cats for about 3 years) are away too x

Morning all,

Gem, that is a pretty little cat, I like her markings. I suspect you've just been adopted love.

NTR here, might go to my Mum's later.

If I'm honest, I suspect I've been adopted too. Have a good day Jim x

Hi Gem

what about using the service I've used a couple of times? It's called Trusted Housesitters, costs £30 to join, but is free from then on. You post your house/cat sitting offer and both times I've done it, I've had loads of replies - and from really experienced people.

A lot of retired people seem to do it for free trips away.

She is a real cutie :)

Thanks - she's a sweetie x

Thanks for that Susie - I am really fussy who I trust in my home and even fussier who I trust with my pet. I have some nice people living next door but don't know them well enough to be sure if I want to leave my house keys with them. I'm one of those people who likes to lock up the house when I leave and know it will be the same when I unlock it again. I have a friend down the road who may be able to step in - I won't expect her to do it for nothing but I trust her with my keys. My mate is coming in this weekend to look after her so it's not so bad x

I do understand hun, it's hard to know who to trust - but I can honestly say I had two great house sitters who left the flat than I left it (not very hard lol0 and more importantly they loved Orbit as much as I do - just in case you get stuck :)

They are also rated - so if they did a bad job they wouldn't get another gig...

Thanks for that - glad you had a really good experience x

Morning all,

The play park was fun Lisa, we have a new game, she saw it on CBeebies, I sit on the bottom of the slide, she slides down, bashes into me and knocks me off, :) cue gales of shrieks and laughter.

Looks like you may have the cat sitting sorted then Gem, have a good time away love.

Nothing planned for me today, Colleen is having a big house cleaning day so I'm out of here.

She's got you sussed Jim and you've got it sussed with the house cleaning day. Hmm.... like Grandad or what?

Morning all, need to get my kit sorted for the parade on Sunday, shoes to polish, shirt to iron, and I'd better check my blazer and slacks for beer stains from last year, may need an emergency dry cleaner run.

We had 2 mins at 11am at work today. The chap on the tannoy must have been an old soldier as we were told to stand and they don't usually do that. But quite rightly so. When I was a chorister we used to walk to the memorial in town for a service on the sunday and it was an honour to carry the church flag but oh my was it heavy when you're only 14! Enjoy the day Jim. Hope your memories are all happy ones.

Morning all, kit all sorted and ready, I just hope the weather is dry, nothing worse than parading in the pouring rain.

That's nice to hear Lisa, I honestly think so many people have forgotten what sacrifices they made for us.

It was a lovely day for it - we were in Warwick at 11am and the turn-out was really good x

Morning all, my feet are killing me.

Out of practice Jim - hope it went well x
