Not sure what's going on with Katie - she has been so busy with her charity, and is happy maintaining now, so I'm sure it's just lack of time

Hi Jim - Kindle day by the fire sounds more sensible than our morning trying to go swimming and being turned back by floods x

Morning all, I had a lovely day yesterday, turned out just as planned, sitting by the fir watching the rain and reading. perfect day. I did overdose on Swiss chard last night though.

You have floods Gem, I hope not in your house.

No Jim - not our house - but we passed two houses that were being pumped out - awful x

Hi Jim, just burning the candle at both ends as usual lol - only one night home this week which was Monday - then a gig every night and a photography job on Saturday night at a charity gig - unpaid of course lol xx

All good here too, thanks Jim - unlike Bren (who has more energy than 10 of my friends together ) I'm falling into bed early - but not before I download loads of free books onto my e-reader - bliss to have some quiet time and a good book or four

I can't see how any house would ever be the same after being flooded.

Bren, it tires me out just reading your post. LOL

You have to get the floorboards redone and a lot of the electrics, so it's not cheap, but both my uncles houses have been flooded and theyre actually nicer for having had all the work done. It's the huge cost and inconvenience that are nightmarish, not to mention all the stuff you have to throw out if you can't get it out of the way in time.

Morning all, wet here again, looks like were in for another day of rain, shame as it was rather nice yesterday.

Moonlights, hi, but what about the smell from the damp and mould? i went into an old house in Worcester many years ago that had been flooded by the river, and it stank. I suppose that would go once it had dried out maybe?

The smell went with the new floors and things. It just sort of smelt like a new house afterwards. They dry everything out so there's no damp left, although in a very old house it might be different?

It was a lovely day yesterday Jim - I had to wear sunglasses driving the car! x

Morning all, sorry I've been awol, I found my Mother collapsed on the floor Saturday morning, she's been in hospital all weekend. They discharged her last night. She has a urine infection and was badly dehydrated, so I think I need to start seeing her daily and making sure she is drinking enough.

We've got the little one today, not sure what we are going to do, it's very dark and dank out there this morning
