Karenlou's diary - Hello, I'm home!

Hey guys. Sorry I've been incommunicado for a few days. Finally starting to turn a corner with this fluey thing I think. Went to the doc on Tuesday cos my throat was so painful and I have a tendency towards tonsillitis but she says its viral and there's nothing she can do for me. I feel a bit limp-raggish and very very queasy for some strange reason - can't even brush my teeth without heaving (sorry for tmi).

So glad Keith is back though although we're both too under the weather for more than cuddling (although I did laugh at your post about performance-enhancing drugs, M). I need something to resurrect me from the dead I think!

Still, Christmas is not far away now and I intend to be festive if it kills me ha ha.

I really hope you and OH are feeling better before Xmas! Hope your throat isn't too painful now. Take care. xxx

Well I've wrapped up all the presents and they are in a festive pile in the living area - the dog is looking intrigued by them - and I've wrapped tinsel round the blinds. Bought a 3ft fibreoptic tree which is just the right size for the little table next to the futon and I have the lights down low so we can see the colours changing on the tree.

Off to see my mum tomorrow and take her presents. I'm taking her beloved grandson with me so hopefully she'll behave herself; she was quite difficult last time we went to see her and I struggled to keep my temper with her.

Only 4 more sleeps though and we're going to Keith's cousins on Xmas eve for a carol service in their village church and a buffet meal after, which should be nice. Then I have to drive to pick my son up from work at 3am and bring him here, so we're going to open presents straight away (it'll be about 4am by the time I get him here) and then go to bed and have Christmas dinner at about 3pm.

I'm finally starting to feel festive :)

I laughed at the thought of your dog watching the gifts. Proberly wondering, mmmm which one is mines :p. Good luck on your visit to your Mum's (hopes she behaves:))

Hi Karen, just popped in to catch up. Hope you're feeling better really soon and your OH - you cant possibly be poorly for chrimbo - just isnt allowed! Have "fun" at your mum's ;)

Good luck for your WI tomorrow hun :) xxx

Thanks all. Well, I STS, which considering I had two xmas meals out this week, I'm perfectly happy with. If I can maintain that over the xmas period, I'll be a happy bunny.

We'll gloss over the visit to my mum except to say that I'll be visiting her GP in the new year and also trying to persuade her to let me have enduring power of attorney as I get more and more concerned about her with every visit.

Well done on sts Karen. Good work!
