Kat1e's Diary - 7 years low carb - still learning!

You rock lady.x

Thanks for all the good wishes folks xxxx

I've been doing some reading and thinking - i am soooo tempted to drop the carbs, drop the inches and be "finished" for christmas! BUT re- reading atkins he is really clear that pre-maintenance is the most important part of the whole "nutritional approach". This is the bit that teaches you how to keep it off - not just gain it all back! Having watched DH - he was at target by june but has had some real issues of carb cravings and a bit of yo-yoing - only my eating plan and main meals have kept him on track. Also altho i went onto OWL and added some yummy food back (including houmous;) ) i still havent explored all the different food groups or found my Critical carb level to lose and maintain.

So as of today i'm moving to pre- maintenance phase, upping my carbs to 40g to start with and targetting teeny losses of weight while testing as many different foods as possible. In the tesco order today - carrots, grapes, kiwi fruit, apples! Will be looking for anything that causes cravings or gain. Obviously large quantities of alcohol will hide the details so will try not to get too carried away. My plan is to do PM over the xmas hols and if i can get through that relatively intact then that will be great!

Hope you are all having a great weekend:D
Xxxx

You are so focused, I have no doubt that you will get through Christmas relatively unscathed compared to the rest of us!!!!

Morning Katie... What losses did you get weekly when you were on induction and how have they changed now ... And what will you be happy with on PM ... Sorry for all the questions ... You have such scientific focus! Lol ... It's so interesting to see how you're doing it...:)

Evening all:)

A nice day today - DH and i went with my parents to a garden centre and they bought me an expensive japanese maple tree for the front garden - think it's two birthdays and christmas all rolled in one pressie lol! Then after a nice lunch at theirs, we came home and DH planted it for me:D

Unfortunately had to do some emails this afternoon but then shook the kinks out at zumba:D. Now at last time to catch up on all the threads - wow we have a lot of diaries going!

Hey Di - good question on the losses. Looking back at my stats i would say i have consistently lost 1-2 lb a week except for holidays, partying and some totm (altho often then get bigger loss following week). Probably should do a 3 month rolling average or something....nah sounds like work! So i guess on PM i want to average 0.5 a week? Let's see!

Anyhow, food diary for today:
B bacon eggs half slice burgen
S pork cracklng
L cold meats and salad, berries and cream
S celery and houmous
D 2 tuna steaks, cauli mash, courgettes
S - still to be decided as a bit nibblie....that's the problem with exercise!

Have a good evening all:D
Xx

Morning Katie... The maple tree sounds lovely ... A pic would be even lovelier! Lol :)

Morning Katie,

Yes it's getting to be hard to keep up, most morning I have over 40 posts to read and write on

Morning Katie :)

Morning Katie :)

Morning all:)

Ahh at last a day to catch up - plans include email and prep for tomorrow, dancing and then a nap and read a book this afternoon:). Yesterday was fun but a bit manic - combination of two dance classes, charity meeting, seminar in town (that i was talking at:eek: ) and then a 121 training session and all in different places. Will aim for a different pace today!

Weigh in this morning was sts - not too concerned as feeling more toned this week. Dont think it's a carb issue as although i'm targetting to increase my carbs to 40g I am actually failing miserably and tending to about 33g;). Probably just body getting used to last weeks loss plus have done loads of exercise this week - either muscle or extra water? Although tummy size hasn't yet decreased again, it's definitely firmer - i can actually imagine that the wobbly baby belly has a chance of getting better!

Susie - bread is Burgen Soya and linseed - 11g per slice and very yummy. I just have half with brekkie as that gives me crunch, taste with butter and marmite and DH eats the rest. He also has for snacks etc

Sun is shining, email calling - see you later:D
Xxx

I used to love that bread Katie - my favourite along with Vogel! Hope you have a good day :)
