Kez's struggles and troubles! 17th June Restart!

Your right CD is great if you can stay on it, but it's so disheartening when you try hard for days but still don't get to where you want. It really is all or nothing, and I struggle to be committed to anything!
 
so how was wi hun? i cant but think that sw is the answer if its food you crave but cd is the way forward for fast weight loss though its just sticking to it which i personally are struggling to do :(
 
I lost 4lbs! So so chuffed, but know it was down to CD. Got slimmer of the week and my first half stone certificate. Woop woop!

Did a ketostik before I went and I am 'moyen'. So sat through weigh in and didn't eat anything. No even the yummy alpen bar in my good bag for being slimmer of the week.

I knew I recognised that haleketosis!

Well....where do I go from here, at the minute I haven't eaten any carbs. Haven't had any shakes either, so I think I am going to try to stay in ketosis for as long as I can but following an atkins diet. Think I will run out fo things to eat though? Cheesy scrambled eggs for tea! Yum yum :)

And, back to the weight I got to with CD before I went off the rails. So anything from here is new!

Wooo hoooo well done chick that's fab, who cares how you got there, our secret. Well done for Slimmer of the Week too. You'll be able to stick in ketosis following an Atkinsy red day type thing.

Your haliketosis comment made me laugh, it made me think about what happened at work yesterday, it's prob a bit TMI but it's funny in a sick kind of way. The first part isn't funny at all but I need to tell it for the funny part to make sense.

Our first patient of the day was very poorly and had incontinent bowels, they were with us for over 2 hours the whole time the room smelt very strongly of poo.... the poor patient had no control and it really wasn't their fault. After they'd been cleaned up, the room aired and cleaned, we got our next patient in.

This time we needed to wear hats and surgical masks. The box of masks had been sitting open in the room all morning, and I grabbed the first mask and put it on and the smell was deathly my first thought was 'Oh god my breath is evil, why did no-one tell me:eek:?' But then I thought a bit more about it and realised that the top mask (my mask) had absorbed all the pooey smells all morning and THAT was what I could smell, not my breath. I changed masks and all was well, but for a minute there I could've died with embarrassment. I told my friend, she sniffed the mask and said 'Trust me if your breath smelled that bad I'd have to tell you!' Phew!!

I could've died, it was so bad, at first I didn't dare say anything in case it really WAS my breath lol.
 
That would be nasty! If I'm back in ketosis, I'll have to watch who I'm breathing on.

If you can have a poo this week, then you should have a super loss. I want to eat my alpen bar soo bad, but it has 17grams of carbs in it and 0.7 of protein. Bad, bad, bad!
 
Ha ha after yesterday I think my body has decided against pooping lol. Horrible!! I should be okay in a day or two and then I'll see what the scales say............
 
I had to strain earlier, but needed that extra bit of ose before wi! Haha, must stop. I'll give myself piles :eek:
 
Morning everyone! It's miserable weather here, but I am feeling fairly cheerful and optomistic. It seems like my diet is taking over my life again, occupying my every thought.

I am trying to research atkins/low carb diets. I want to stay in ketosis for as long as possible, but don't want to be eating super amounts of saturated fats, as I guess I still need to be eating a less calories?

Weighed this morning and I am a couple of lbs down from yesterday mornings wi, which has spurred me on to do another day in ketosis.

My breath honks! Am I right to think that as long as I am in ketosis I will lose weight? On the atkins, you can eat as much as you like as long as it is the right stuff and still lose weight? Or should I be following the SS 410kcal rule??

Guess I'll just keep muddling on for as long as I can, once I go out of ketosis this time I don't think I am going to be in a hurry to get back into it. It's murder going through the headaches.
 
try an atkins bar instead. 2g net carbs. not bad. they're higher in fat but won't take you out of ketosis.
 
I looked for them the other day in Boots, but they didn't have any 'Atkins' food. So the only other place I can think to try is the health food shop? I can vaguely remember seeing it in Superdrug a while back?
 
Hey, well done Kez.. thats a great loss, and yeahh who cares how you got there, you worked for it!! Atkins, i used to do that and it was no more then 15g of Carbs a day. They sell Low carb bars in the supermarket, if you can't see them in boots. They are costly though £1.20 - £1.70 each!! But one a day will be fine, just like the CD packs, and that will be a third of the cost too.

Have a peep in the Atkins threads and ask a few questions in there, there are a few pplon those threads and all loosing weight too.

My mate lost 3.5 stone in about 3 months on that,just before she got married. So it does work. Maybe try a week on that and see how you get on. You can get the new atkins books in whsmiths, about £7 each, but it tells you exactly what you can have and how many carbs etc too.

And thanks Nikki, 15grams! If I had given in and eaten my apple earlier, then that would have been 17grams. I'm definately going to pop into Tesco Extra tonight to look for the bars. So what if they are £1.20, I wouldn't bat an eyelid at buying a couple of Boosts or Mars bars in a week or a couple of packs of Doritos! You have to put it in perspective, don't you?
