Kirsty's pregnancy and new Mummy diary- from 30 weeks onwards!

Sounds like this Oliver loves his sleep. It's good that he is getting in a little routine. Makes it easier for you to plan your day. Hope you are all sleeping well now x
Thanks he had a good night :)
I've told him to have words with your Oliver :) x

Oliver had another good night- we were all in bed by 11:45!!
First time we've been in bed the right side of midnight since he was born!!
Up at 3:45 for milk, back down within the hour and woke again at 7 for more milk.
Currently trying to settle him in his basket- the eyes are getting heavy!!
Little man is 3 weeks old today!!
So hard to believe that this time 3 weeks ago I was having contractions but had no idea I'd have him in my eyes by the end of the day :) x

In other news- I weighed myself this morning and I've put on 1.5lbs taking me up to 13st 1.5lbs.
That indicates to me that my body has got rid of all the fluids etc from pregnancy and what's left is fat!
So I've decided I need to start doing something about the excess weight before it goes the other way!
Seriously considering re joining SW very soon- I need to have some control over the volume of chocolate I'm eating and going to group every week always used to stop me from overdoing it (well not always but most of the time lol).
I want to get down to at least my previous target of 11st 3lbs but I'm considering lowering it to 10st 7lbs.
I want to be there by Oliver's first birthday do plenty of time :)
And it might be that I'm going back too soon but even if I just manage maintain my weight for a few weeks/months I figure it's better than gaining!
So that's the plan! X

It's tough Hun. I ate rubbish in the first six weeks. Mainly to keep me awake and energy levels up but also because we had visitors so that often meant chocolates or biscuits. Also didn't have much time to prep food so often had toast or biscuits which I could eat whilst bf.

Going back to SW may refocus you but it's still early days so don't be hard on yourself. It's really difficult to stick to it when you're tired, as I'm finding out right now.

You've done amazing to lose so much already. Perhaps try to eat healthier at home but don't be too strict? Xx

Yeh I'm guessing it's not going to be easy but I feel ready to do it and I always said I wouldn't do it unless I felt ready to commit to it.
I won't be too strict on myself, just try and stick to it, if all I do is maintain for a few weeks that's better than gaining!
And I've picked up the latest copy of Reveal mag which has a coupon in for free membership until June 30th so I feel it's a sign!
Plus I have an advantage in that I'm bottle feeding and he's sleeping well so I feel quite energised most of the time. I'm under no illusions that the sleeping part could change at any point but I'm craving healthy food!
Will give it some more thought and maybe attempt a few days of SW this week to see how it goes x

Being in the right frame of mind is half the battle. Sounds like you're there x

Yeh that's right- I must admit I didn't think I would be so soon, but after not following the plan for 9 months I've missed it and I'm ready! X

So I've decided to give SW a try tomorrow- planned a Green day, mainly cos I think I'm gonna struggle with just one HEXB!
I always used to find that a struggle but after being off plan since August I think I'd find it even harder so need to ease myself into it!
I am a bit limited on what I've planned as I don't have a major amount of SW friendly stuff in the house until I go shopping on Thursday so I will be using stuff up and 'tweaking' the plan a little- example, I will use Quaker oh so simple sachets as B choice simply to use them up (I don't think they are a B choice anymore??) then I'll buy the multigrain ones which I know are a B choice.
I'm really gonna try tomorrow and just take each day as it comes and hopefully I'll be rejoining next week!

Sounds a good idea. Take it one day at a time and tweak what you need to to gradually get back in it. You may find it invigorating to have a plan vaguely in place. Could even allow yourself more syns, maybe 20 to start with, if you need more chocolate then gradually get back down to 15. Good luck x

Yeh 20 syns of chocolate a day is definitely needed!!! X

Another good night by Oliver- I've been keeping track of his feeds and he's really getting unto a nice little routine.
He's having 6x5oz feeds a day and generally starts at 3-4am for the first one, then 7-8am, then 11-12pm, 3-4pm, 7pm on the dot! And then 10:30-11:30 for the bedtime feed.
He's napping for about 2 hours in between feeds, although he's more unsettled in the evenings and it can take longer to get him down.
And he's gone from not being bothered about his dummy to wanting it before a nap!
In fact it really settles him nicely :)
Today we are going to pop into town- something I've been meaning to do for a while now.
Want to have a look in H&M seeing as I have a £40 gift card :)
Could do with some bits for myself as well as Oliver (well he doesn't really need anything but I can't resist :))
Pop to M&S for a few bits for dinner and may go to Subway for lunch.
Was planning a Green day but I may change to EE so I can have a tuna Subway salad :)

So here's today's current plan for food:

Extra Easy

B: Quaker oats so simple sachet (HEXB tweak) made with 180ml skimmed milk (HEXA)
1tsp Nutella (1.5 Syns)
Coffee with milk from HEXA 1 allowance
L: M&S oriental style tuna salad bites (2 Syns)
D: Jacket potato with beans and cheese (HEXA), pork loin
Strawberries, blueberries and grapes with a 0% fat Greek style yogurt
S:

HEXA: 350ml skimmed milk ( only used 180ml and one coffee so going to have some cheese with dinner)

HEXB: Quaker oats so simple sachet (tweak)

Syns: 1tsp Nutella (1.5)
M&S oriental style tuna salad bites (2)
2x Waitrose chocolate brownies (7)
1x Waitrose chocolate mini roll (4)

Oliver loves the bus!!
He really kicked off every time we stopped in a shop and wouldn't settle until we was on the move so the bus was perfect for sending him to sleep!!!
We went to M&S for a few essentials and I managed to avoid the bakery counter yay!!
Went to H&M and got myself 2 maxi dresses in their sale and got Oliver some cute Tigger sleep suits, socks, scratch mitts and a cute little cardigan that looks very similar to one hubby has :)
And the best part? I still have £6.50 left on my gift card yay :D x

My SW on plan didn't happen sadly...
Oliver was very unsettled all afternoon and once hubby got home, I was in desperate need of a nap!
Before you know it, it's 7pm, Oliver wants milk and hubby is in the office working.
By the time he comes downstairs it's half 7 and we agree it's best to just order a takeaway so we do.
Dominos which was yummy as always and hubby then popped to Tesco for beer and cider :)
I don't feel guilty about it, I think it was well deserved after spending all afternoon trying to settle a crying baby!
Just before dinner came, Oliver had a very explosive nappy, it was everywhere!
So he's been very upset since then and is only now settling.
Hope he's going to make up for the lack of sleep tonight, fingers crossed x

Oliver really wore himself out lady night and as a result settled straight after his bottle and we was all in bed by midnight!
He woke at 3:15 for milk, and settled pretty much instantly so back asleep by 4. He then woke at 6:15 for milk, which is slightly earlier than usual so I was expecting him to want more feeds but he slept straight after, all the way round Waitrose and didn't stir until we got home. As a result he had his next bottle at 10:40 so 'on time' as such.
He's awake still, in fact wide awake!
But it's funny, when I put him over my shoulder for burping, he tries pushing himself up to have a look around and then headbutts me in the chin!!!
With hubby, he tries to suck his chin!!
Little monkey!
We've raised his basket to help with him so being so unsettled and it seems to have worked, that and after feeding, burping and changing, putting him on my shoulder for a good half hour in case he brings up anything.
It seems to work, as he falls asleep and I can put him in his basket without disturbing him :)
As for food, I've done well so far today and if Oliver behaves himself I should be ok for the rest of the day!
Here's the plan:

Extra Easy

B: Quaker oats so simple (HEXB tweak) made with 180ml skimmed milk (part HEXA) and 1tsp Nutella (1.5 syns)
2x Coffee made up milk from HEXA

L: 4x Jacobs cream crackers (8 Syns) with 25g reduced fat Brussels pate (2.5 Syns), 2 slices lean ham, cherry toms and celery
Muller light skinny cappuccino

S: grapes

HEXA: 350ml skimmed milk

Syns:

Total so far: 14.5

Just had a Muller light skinny cappuccino- OMG its amazeballs!!!
Thinking it would work well in a low Syn tiramisu!
I shall be digging out my SW cookbooks at the weekend :) x

So I fell off the wagon again!!!
Must have eaten my own body weight in chocolate today
This is mostly down to lack of energy and Oliver screaming for over an hour this afternoon, for no apparent reason!
I think, as well, I've still got a lot of rubbish food in the house and it's not helping- so I think I'll just make sure it's all gone before I rejoin SW next week.
I really need the group to help with my eating and I really don't want to be gaining weight now my boy is here x

Try not to put too much pressure on yourself hun x it took me 8 weeks after having Amelia to finally feel able to crack on with losing weight. Before, I just tried and failed with dieting every day. I'd do great in the morning, come lunch time I'm eating chocolate and all sorts!! I think it takes a while after having a baby because we require so much more energy than what we're used to. Try not to panic :) You've just had a baby :) xxx

Same here- I do fine until the afternoon, esp if he's unsettled, I just reach for the choc!!
I'm not going to try and follow it until I actually rejoin group and I'll be focused. I need the group structure to get me on the wagon x

So Oliver had an excellent night's sleep- he had a bottle at 11, fell asleep at 12:30 and didn't wake until 5:45!!!!!
He was so unsettled yesterday evening I imagine he was really tired!
Anyway he's made up for missing a bottle by having one at 5:45, then again at 8:30 and currently having another.
He has settled in between tho.
Really hoping we don't have a repeat of yesterday where he cried for hours, slept for half hour here and there and then kicked off again.
It really stressed me out and I got very upset.
After a long chat with hubby he's agreed to take Oliver to work with him tomorrow (he's working at the office, which is his mum and dad's house!) so I can have a 'day off'.
It'll mean his mum gets to have a whole day with her grandson and I get a day to catch up on sleep!!
I will miss him like crazy but it'll be nice to chill out, sleep and not have to fit everything else in around him.
I really need a break and it also means I can give the dogs some undivided attention with a nice long walk that they deserve :)
Need to sort out Oliver's clothes too- he's starting to grow out of his 0-1 months already and a few 0-3 too!!
Off out to Waitrose once little man is burped and changed as we need more nappies for him and a few bits I couldn't get yesterday :)
Food wise- I'm not even going to try, I'm just gonna eat what I want until I go back to group next week and that'll give me the focus I need to stick to plan :)
Not sure what group I'm going to- I'm spoilt for choice, there's so many near me! Just gotta decide on a day and if a morning or evening suits me better :) x
