Laura's Summer Slimming!

LOVED that danio yoghurt I had this morning, picked one up to try and wasn't sure if they were free or not, turned out not, they are 1.5 syns each but are LOVELY for a little change and tasted very creamy and yum! I wouldn't use them all the time but will definitely buy again as a treat!

I am going to buy coconut flavouring (seems can only get it online though!) and make my own coconut yoghurt with natural greek style stuff, because the Mullerlights are getting so expensive all the time and it's the coconut one I love the most - this week I am doing my own with vanilla flavouring as we had run out of other free yoghurts for me and it is much cheaper to do and I like that I can change the flavour intensity and the sweetness with a bit more sweetener if I want.

Should have said too, a wee extra easy day for me today too as we need to have pasta for dinner - rather skint this week in the lead up to pay day so didn't do a massive food shop! Saving the pennies for holiday too :)

Chicken and bacon pasta sounds yum though, will make it up as I go along and hope it turns out ok! Going to make it creamier with black pepper soft cheese and also some passata too for tomatoeyness sauce...and will serve with a big salad for me!

I sometimes like to spend a few syns in a nicer yoghurt, tend to be creamier and not have that twang that some do.

One yummy dessert I have discovered courtesy of the SW USA group, is fat free white choc jell-o pudding made up with syn free yoghurt instead of milk, it is quite good, a bit like angel delight texture. I am thinking I might try and make a cheesecake with it.

Yeah me too and since I somehow managed to not have any syns yesterday(!) I figured it was fine to spend on it ;) They are lovely.

Oooh cheesecake, yum! Look forward to recipe :)

Mmm yes I am going to get more to try and have as just MY special treats lol! Raspberry sounds yum.....

So got out another run last night, week 5 day 1 of C25K....went ok! I think the pasta for my dinner beforehand helped.....

However last night even though I had the choc philly on my ryvita later on with a cuppa, and injected my insulin as normal, I reduced my basal by a unit too cos I had been out a run, I had a night hypo at 2.30am - arghhhh!! I normally eat 5 fruit pastilles to treat one, but I couldn't stop at 5 as I felt so awful, and I ate the whole packet except 2 which were left this morning! Must have been about 10 sweets then, so I expected to wake with a high blood glucose reading (as overtreated hypo) except I woke to an almost perfect 5.8 reading!! Which was nice, but does mean tonight I need to cut back further as I am planning another run tonight when home! Argh, never simple :(

Feel pretty crud today, a night hypo makes you feel a bit like you have a hangover (as your liver works harder releasing it's glucose too is the theory there!) but without the fun the night before!!

Also had a super hectic morning with the kids, couldn't find my daughter's glasses just as we were about to run out the door and so had to leave without those then I had to come back to the house to search for them, finally found them so had to run them round the our childminder's house before I could get to work which meant I was 10 mins late too!

Meh.

Today can only get better right??

Dinner last night plus snack later on!

Breakfast - 35g bran flakes with banana and koko milk 200ml (1/2 HexA)

Lunch - ham and cottage cheese salad with pickled onions

Dinner - veg layer lasagne (HexA cheese) with salad, red pickled cabbage, pickled onions.

Snacks - milk in cups of tea (1/2 HexA)

HExA - 1) 30g cheddar 2) 200ml koko milk & 125ml ss milk (1/2 HeA each)
HExB - 1) 35g bran flakes 2) 2 hifi bars

Total syns = 0

I rearranged my syns/HexA's about with what I ended up having today and again no syns - again not really intentional but due to having to eat for my hypo last night I did have some really so wasn't going to eat any just for the sake of it tonight.

Oh bless ya!! It'll be the exercise hun - usually catches up with ya in the evening .. Maybe reduce insulin by 2 tonight if your running again - I went to the gym yesterday and hypoed straight after my tea - so annoying coz I was full .. Exercise is a bit hit & miss with diabetes coz sometimes it can make your sugars rise or drop - depends what kinda mood yer bodies in! Hope the hypo hangover doesn't last all day :) xxx

Made these for tomorrow lunch I think, possibly dinner not sure yet. Mung bean wraps! SW would prob class it as a tweak, so you could syn the beans or if happy using as a free food on green or EE, or as a hexb on red.

I'm happy not to syn them I think because its not me overeating the food, it's the same amount of beans I would eat in a salad or similar?? I used half a cup dry mung beans which made 3 wraps.

Think I'll fill with ham, salad, tomatoes...houmous would be great but I have none, gah!

I really like them! They're not exactly like a wrap but still yum! I soaked half a cup of mung beans for a couple of days until they start going a bit whiter & skin comes off them a bit, then drain off water, blitz them up with water, I just kept adding little by little until I got a pancake batter consistency. Add some garlic & onion powder (about 1.5tsp of each) and a pinch chilli flakes, salt & pepper and blitz again.

Heat up a pan, spray with fry light & cook like you would a pancake!

Voila! :) I had mine warm with low low cheese spread & ham & lettuce rolled up. Yummy!

Weekend was fine, you shall be impressed by my dedication - out a run on a Saturday night!! also been running about the shops, trying to get last bits organised for holidays as this time next week I want to be mostly all packed - we are leaving at midnight on the Monday to drive to the airport and I do not want to be a headless chicken at the last minute (as I normally am!!)

Also the scales were DEFINITELY my friend this morning....11st 1.6 showing!!! :D Even I was very surprised and shocked - nicely.

It prob won't stick about for weigh in as I do need to eat today (and I am starving just now, need breakfast!!) but something close to that would be AMAZING! I was due a week of a whoosh I think, and have upped the exercise again this week, plus just finished my * week so that's probably helped.

Happy monday morning! x
