Licking the Lid of Life....my esoteric diary

Well done sounds like you had a lovely time. Did you guys know each other pre-minimins? How lovely to build that kind of friendship :) I'm quite envious of you guys all meeting up oop norf too. Too far for me unfortunately

I ate a lot of chocolate today this weekend was a write off but I have a batch of super speed soup ready already for tomorrow and I'll be scan bran munching. A couple of days won't using it all but it feels like it may right about now!! X

We had a brilliant time thanks hun. No we met on minis - a few of us met up in Leeds last year for the day, me and my OH stayed at Kathryns in February, then about 2 weeks ago we met up again in Sheffield and this weekend Kathryn and Kev stayed with us. When there are plans for other minis meets threads are set up on here for anyone who wants to go. Keep an eye out there may be one near you hun.

Ive not had any choccy, I may have some hot choccy before bed :D xx

Goodness you are good :) I feel a bit bleugh so will detox a bit tomorrow to perk myself up and then carry on business as usual :)

I followed the sheffield thread and saw your pics. Couldn't help wishing I still lived in t'midlands and could have gone along.

I half wish i had just had the hot choc, as always, it wasn't worth it haha

I'm not too far from you Sam (well a straight through and fairly quick train ride :) ) If you're up for it in the school Summer Hols, I could pop down with the littles and have a day on the beach with you and your daughter :D

Happy Easter everyone! I've spent virtually the whole weekend paper cutting, which has kept me happily occupied and not thinking about chocolate, so I've stayed on plan (though i did eat far too much lamb for dinner  ). WI at 9.30 tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed!

Yes! I would love that :) where abouts are you then Molly? It would be lovely I have a beach picnic day :) :D

I have just spent the last 20 mins bashing my Easter eggs up into 5&7 syn bags which have all been put away now. Then I am off to sainsburys for my soup flask. I am detoxing today with fruit and veg and LOTS of green tea and then back to usual. I feel bloated and sluggish and the scales show a 4lb gain but that's not possible in 2 days and a lot of it is water related as I have not had anywhere near enough fluid over the weekend.

Back on the horsey.

Oh oh and I'm thinking of investing in a bike for the summer with a child seat on the back. Madam is nearly 4 but is very petite so from research I could get another year of her on a bike seat. At least :) plus she starts school in sept and the bike is a better way of getting her here as there is no parking and its a little bit far to expect her to walk both ways, at least for the first year, although we are upgrading her scooter for her birthday so that may help.

I'm in Luton Sam (though I'm East Sussex born & bred lol) ... there's a direct train through to Brighton from here and it's a nice journey that I've done loads of times :) My Grandson is the same age as your little Miss, so hopefully they will enjoy meeting someone new :D

I wanted to do it whilst I felt a bit yuck so there was no danger of picking and starting off a third day if indulgence. I have learnt something about myself both over Xmas and Easter and that's that as soon as I have licence to go a bit off the rails I do it to extremes. Nothing compared to days of yore but still too much!!

Oh yes that would be fab! :) maybe we could open it up to other mins with their own minis too :) x

A bike is a fab idea, I had a child seat on my bike for Nathan & he seem to enjoy it, once you get the balance right it's ok.

Until what age did you use it? Madam is quite petite so I'm hoping it will last a while!

Ok its an (unspecified) date! Looking forward to that already!!

Ooh, if you're opening it up to others I'd be up for that. I live in cambridge but my in laws live just outside Worthing so I could easily make a Brighton meet :)

Monday 21st April

Lunches

I bought a soup flask too. Not as good as JVBPs bit of kit but its half a litre and has a nice wide neck for ease of cleaning. Some of the ones I looked at were just like a normal thermos at the top despite being called a food flask and cleaning them would be nothing short of a nightmare. I also got, from the seasonal picnic area a little cutlery kit in a case. Knife, fork, spoon and chopsticks (??) that come apart into halves. £2. Bargain. Together with my posh multi compartment lunch box I'm good to go for home made lunches this term!! :)
