Licking the Lid of Life....my esoteric diary

Apparently most go up to 22kg and madam only weighs in at 2st 6lb. 22kg is nearly another stone more than she weighs so hopefully at least a year or so if not more. Clearly doesn't have my heifer genes. Haha.

Lunches

I bought a soup flask too. Not as good as JVBPs bit of kit but its half a litre and has a nice wide neck for ease of cleaning. Some of the ones I looked at were just like a normal thermos at the top despite being called a food flask and cleaning them would be nothing short of a nightmare. I also got, from the seasonal picnic area a little cutlery kit in a case. Knife, fork, spoon and chopsticks (??) that come apart into halves. £2. Bargain. Together with my posh multi compartment lunch box I'm good to go for home made lunches this term!! :)

That looks good Sam, just the job. I made my husband go and collect mine. It is quite small, but I think it will be a perfect size for my lunch. I'm not sure if I'm paying for the brand but it is well made I am pleased with it and the reviews were good re keeping the food hot. Hubby said, "I don't want to know how much that was do I"? "No, it's best you don't", was my reply. He's learning, bless him. :D

A lovely idea about the child seat - a good way to get Madam to school and you get your exercise at the same time. Win win!

After a while you could get one of those bars which attaches a child's bike to the back of your's so that she 'cycles' with you. I don't know what they're called, but I've seen them in Halfords (and in use) and thought what a good idea they seem to be.

Going back to the music conversation of a couple of days ago - will you all have to arrive at your Minis meet in decade appropriate clothing and carrying a trannie/ghetto blaster/Walkman?

My stock reply is always at 50% less than actual cost. I call them "lady pounds" much like "man inches" except we deduct rather than add on.... ;)

i was pleased with the flask. They only had one on the shelf and I nabbed it. It's still a thermos but I think their less rugged range (and less attractive) but at £12 I was won over :D

I know what you mean, like a towing type thing. I might be a bit scared to use that on real roads though! I'm a bit nervous as it is as I haven't cycled for years! Quite liking the idea now though.

The clothing thing....hmmm I'm up for that. I'll dig out my shell suit. Mwhahahahaaa

I want this bike. Can you imagine it with a munchkin on the back? Of course if husband asks its £150

Sam... Last year we walked round to our local retail park to buy a new Tefal frying pan, we popped into Halfords, her indoors spotted one of these ( very similar ) and guess what ny on £500 later she's riding home on it but she had to have a wicker basket on the front AND a frying pan handle sticking out the top of it... We still laugh about it....and...........I had to walk back home !!!!

That's hilarious. I just need to wait and see what birthday spends I get now :) this is perfect for the summer months and when little one starts school. Plus it would help with the fitness levels. I hope!!

So I put 2lb on this week. I'm not surprised. There is a little niggle of disappointment but to be honest last weeks 3lb loss just felt too surreal to be totally genuine and I was expecting a STS this week even without Easter. If not worse. I take it as my body readjusting and taking account of the Easter indulgence and this week will deal with it. I'm going to whip up some more soup later. I couldn't eat the curried parsnip. It just tasted wrong. I'm not sure what I did that was wrong but it was just a no from me. I made the super speed tomato soup from on here and that was nice so I may go for another round of that but may chuck in some red lentils for depth and added fibre effect. Bearing in mind I eat mine with scan bran it could be....interesting haha.

Well if poo thrills and excites you :happy036: ....who am I to judge? :giggle:

Where are you based Sally? I want to make sure I stay well clear!

Talking about 'lady pounds' (a lovely concept) reminds me of one of my favourite reasons for owning a Kindle: the OH has absolutely no idea how many books I buy or, perhaps more importantly, how much they cost!

Yes me too. I download at whim, again it comes back to amazon making it a little TOO easy....they know what they are doing the sneaky blighters

Like it! :D My husband often says women are devious. I tell him that's because we're intelligent enough to be so and men and daft enough not to figure this out.
