Lil miss chatterbox's food diary

Thanks for popping by! been a busy weekend. it finally stopped raining, so have cut my grass on Saturday (1 1/2 hours of uphill & downhill hard slogging!) and then did my mother-in-laws yesterday (another hour of hard work cos it was so long, and her lawnmower is next to useless!). but unfortunately the sunshine doesn't look like it wants to stay. i'm so desperate to get out and enjoy the summer!

need ideas to keep kids busy for the next 4 weeks til they're back to school. all i've got on is my son's speech therapy every weds morning til they're back and no more. my plans did involve going for walks, picnics, playparks, football etc. but i really need some indoor ideas too.

Hello lovely, when my kids and grandkids were little we used to spend wet days in the hols baking....usually nice cheapie foods ...they can be sw friendly ..if you want ideas I have hundreds of recipes....we also did things like egg boiling and then cooling and painting them...I often went to cheap shops like poundland or something like that and bought loads of cheap papers, pens glue, glitter and even some card making products....some cheaper shops also sell reasonable priced plaster making and painting sets, which I found the kids really loved .
I found they liked to do things like planting indoor herbs that they could look after, or even small pots to put just outside the back door ...they find it thrilling to do things and look after them.
There are numerous colouring in pictures that you can download and print for free from the internet.
And then there's the tidy up game with a reward at the end, that was personally my favourite :giggle: and as long as they knew there was a reward they were more than willing to help lol

Have fun with them and don't worry about housework too much hun, as long as they have you, they will be happy :hug99: xxx

been struggling for a while now :( i don't understand how i can make an 'easy' diet so hard, or how when i do manage to stick to it i either get such small numbers or STS. i don't know whether to keep on trying slimming world, and maybe one day i'll get there in the end, or to give weight watchers a go. i prefer the SW concept, but find it makes it difficult to eat meals out, or to go to a cafe. maybe i just need to plan better.

Even though I haven't managed to sustain my losses I will be the first to say that if you stick to SW it does work. My prob is sticking to it though but I get despondent if I get a slow loss and fall off the wagon a bit.

I can't remember if you do all types of days or mainly EE. I know some who swear by each kind of day so I'm not sure if it makes a difference. Might be worth trying to switch it about for a but, like a green week or a red week. There's also those that say they so better if the cut out/back on the bread, it's just a matter of finding what suits you personally and fits in with the rest of the family.

Otherwise you might like to try Success Express just to give you a boost. I've not tried WW so I can't really comment on which is better.

Good luck making your mind up. :D

Thanks for that. i tried WW when i was about 12/13, and on their old plan i gained 1/2lb in my first week, and never went back, which is why i've always been a bit wary of them. i think this next week i'll have to give SW a really good go and have a 100% week, and see if i can get the scales moving. it feels i've been stuck playing with the same few lbs for ages now! don't expect miracles for tomorrows WI. will be lucky to STS. summer holidays are evil. i baked gingerbread with the kids, and they gave me loads! i can't believe i let myself slip into my old mindlessly eating habits! so p***ed at myself!

I've played with the same half stone or so since before Christmas and I too am sick of it.

Bet the ginger bread was fab though. Just imagine if it was a hot summer you'd be needing to avoid ice cream at every turn too. Although salads and fruit are easier in hot weather. How about we try keeping each other on the straight and narrow next week then and see how we get on. :D

That sounds good :) right WI this morning and gained 2lbs! although i will say my dinner last night consisted of a pasty and cupcakes following a trip to A&E, and not getting home til after 10pm. my 6 1/2 yr old son decided it would be a good idea to put 2 x 1p coins in his mouth, and accidentally swallowed them! he's fine, we've just got to wait for them to come back out IYKWIM! That's after yesterday morning we discovered my husbands email had been hacked, and have had to strip the computer back to basics again. i won't be able to go back onto games at facebook for a few days, as hubby's not yet installed flash player, and i don't want to interfere.

Today's food plan:

Breakfast: 2 weetabix (HEB), milk (HEA), nectarine (SF)
Snack: banana (SF), apple (SF)
Lunch: brown rice (free), stir fried veg (SF), mixed berries (SF), fruit salad (SF), 4 cubes white chocolate (5 syns)
Dinner: chicken pasta bake (9.5 syns), broccoli (SF), green beans (SF)

Syns: 14.5

Glad littlie is OK. Bit of a scare though. Do you have to check the output so to speak to make sure the coins arrive eventually or pretty much sure they will? Hope nothing important was hacked. I'll see you when you get back on the games. ;) You'll be missed though. Tell hubby to get it fixed quick smart. ;) Just kidding I know how horrible an attack can be. Hope you have a great w/end whatever you get up to and look forward to hearing about it when you get back on. :D

well i now have access to games again :D and the coins arrived safely, and best of all it wasn't me that had to look for them! i've had a terrible weekend off plan though, so bang goes my 100% week :( far too many sweeties & choccies to be spoken of and 1/2 portion of chippy chips :ashamed0005::break_diet:

Please about the coins, pity anyone had to look for the EUUUUW. Don't worry about the wee topple from the wagon. Just clamber back on and keep going. We'll get there eventually. We are just taking the scenic route. :D

i think scenic route is right. maybe subconciously i'm scared to let the weight go? but still i guess i have to keep trying. after all no-one ever said it was easy!

so today's plan: 2 shredded wheat, milk, banana
oranges, plums, fruit salad, mixed berries
pasta 'n' sauce
sweet & sour sauce (6)
lean diced pork
stir fried vegetables
fry light
rice

spent the last 2 days climbing hills, and walking along the beach, so even if i'm not getting my food right, at least i'm getting my fair share of exercise! got a 3 1/2 mile walk on saturday. just hope i can manage it!

Wow I'm impressed by the amount of exercise. What a difference some half way decent weather makes. You'll be fine for your longer walk. Just take your time and have wee rests when needed.

Foodwise, just keep trying and one day it will click into place. :D I have complete faith in you. :D

well WI this morning and gained another 3lbs! i guess i didn't exercise enough to counter act the sweets! (which i shouldn't have had in the first place!)

so i lose my 1st shiny :( and am going to give weight watchers a try, and see if it works better for me. if not i'll have to persevere and find a way that does work for me.

right, according to ww i can have 46 PP per day, which can't be carried over (a use 'em or lose 'em thing) and 49 weekly PP's to use as I please. so my plan is to try to not use the weeklies, but i know they're there in case of unexpected treats out!

so today's food plan:

breakfast: 2 weetabix (3), 200ml semi skimmed milk (4), banana (0), mixed berries (0), fruit salad (0)

Lunch: 2 brown bread (4), 1/2 tin spaghetti (3), 1/2 tin mushy peas (3), apple (0), oranges (0)

Dinner: 68g chicken breast (2), frylight (1), peas (0), onion (0), garlic (0), 1/4 jar uncle ben's tikka masala sauce (3), 75g brown rice (7)

supper: plain tortilla wrap (5), 4 hard boiled sweets (3), 5 small chocolates (8)

Dailies Total: 46/46 Weeklies: 0/49

so do i! i've managed to keep in points all weekend :D, although had to use 40 of my weekly pro points, and i've been able to have sandwiches at lunchtime :D:D did 2 1/2 miles of the planned walk on Saturday, with relative ease, but was feeling the burn. only turned back for the last bit cos my little boy needed the loo. then attempted to walk the cheviot yesterday. didn't manage that! but i did walk around 2 miles uphill to near the summet of a slightly shorter hill, and then back again. my legs are killing me now, but i did enjoy it, even if i was a bit slow :( but i'm glad i tried :D

so today's plan:)
breakfast: 2 crumpets (4), butter (1), ww yoghurt (1)

lunch: baked potato (5), 1/2 tin spaghetti (3), 1/2 tin mushy peas (3), 2 choc biscuit bars (6)

dinner: spaghetti (7), kidney beans (3), chickpeas (3), lentils (2), mince (6), onion (0), garlic (0), peas (0), peppers (0), tinned tomatoes (0), spices (0)

dessert: sugar free jelly (0), fruit salad (0)

snacks: banana (0), apple (0), orange (0), kiwi (0), mixed berries (0), 3 choc drops (2)

daily propoints: 46/46

weekly propoints used so far this week: 40/49

Hello sweetie, well done for restarting :fingerscrossed: it will all go well for you, shame I didn't know earlier I have just this week sold all my WW's cook books cos I was sick of them hanging about..oh well whatever I know you will do just fine hunni and as for that walking, have you given yourself a huge pat on the back yet, it's really hard to walk on flat ground when you haven't done it in a while let alone uphill, and 2 and a half miles is amazing...you are amazing lady :bighug: ...really well done .

Have a fab day and how is it going with the kids being off?...very busy I guess lol xxx:hug99: xxx
