Feeling on a bit of a downer 2day :( really i should be happy, have just got news that my sister in law will be getting married hopefully in June or July (which really is about time she did!), but am dreading looking like a beached whale at the wedding! nothing flatters my shape, and she wants everyone to wear purple! which won't help hide unsightly lumps and bumps! also why is it that all appropriate dresses are sleeveless?? no-one needs to see my bingo wings!!! i just feel like "what's the point? no matter what i do from now til then I'll still be fat and there's nothing i can do about it"

sorry for the down mood, but just needed to get it off my chest

Oh hun don't be down about this. It's good news. - You should view it as an extra motivation for you to aim at. It's still 3 to 4 months away and that's 1.5 to 2 stone even at 0.5 stone a month and you know you CAN and WILL manage that. Is the shade of purple chosen cos dark purple can be very flattering. I may be a bit biased as it's my fave colour but truly it can be lovely. As for your arms they will be smaller by then too but also there would be nothing stopping you from wearing a shawl or shrug for a bit of camouflage.

Someone on here has been doing an exercise thing on Wii and says she's lost from her bingo wings in a matter of days. If you like I'll check what "game" it was but I think it was boxing based.

From one who's mood has a huge impact on my eating and moods which are all over the place ATM try to keep your chin up. And fight this downer all the way. Let me know if you want to chat and I'll PM you my no or GULP if you want to meet up in Edinburgh (bum*er I'm only here today and tomorrow then I'm off for a week) but I can do any other time if you like. Main thing is keep fighting it. :bighug:

Thanks hun. would defo like to know which wii game that was! i think i'm just not feeling like I'm seeing any improvement. my weight may have dropped just over a stone, but my waist has the same measurement! so where has the weight gone from?!? also it didn't help looking at the clothes sizing guide. i wear a 22/24, but according to the sizing guide I'm a 32! so that didn't go down well with me lol. thanks for trying to make me feel better :hug99:

The game was My Fitness Coach:Cardio Workout for the wii, She says it's all boxing based but from the sounds of things it hurt all over so must have been doing some good.

Did you take measurements when you started? Cos more than a stone must have moved some inches from somewhere. Try not to pay too much heed to the sizing guide thingy. If your clothes go on and you can still breath then they fit. So ignore the tosh about being a 32, Have you ever seen the thread on here about what size at what weight. Even people the same height and weight are wildly different sizes http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world/237621-statistics-what-size-you-what-weight.html I have lost a bit more than you but it hasn't moved much from my waist either. I see it from my neck, jowls, and particularly from round my back at bra height. Had to go from last hook & eye to 1st then down a size & up a cup to get a decent fit.

We're all different and it will be coming from somewhere. If you keep plugging away at it I'm certain it will really start to show. And you really do still have plenty of time before the wedding.

I do want to help you feel better hun and really meant the bit about chatting or meeting up if you'd like to. Just give me the nod and I'll PM you my no.
You kept coming back to me in the last 2 weeks so I'd love to help you get back to it if I can.

Morning lovely LMC, awww don't be so down on yourself, doesn't matter what size you are hun, firstly anyone any size can look great if they have the confidence, so work on your confidence, I don't know how much you weigh, but my niece is close on 20st and wears mini dresses and looks fabulous really she does, cos she is confident and wears what suits her.
As for your bingo wings ...as someone who has lost an awful lot of my bingo wings I would advise you to do 2 things...firstly do any boxing games, there are plenty on a lot of the wii sports games and also do weights, now if you don't own weights a tin of beans or bottles of water will do , it's just knowing what to actually do to help get rid of them that's the problem so here is what I do :

Rosemary Conley - Banish Bingo Wings! - YouTube

Hope it helps, I'm not a huge Rosemary Conley fan but these actually do work and only take about 5 minutes a day, the chair dips I would do only once you have some good strength in your arms cos they are hard, but just a few each day will make a huge difference to your arms

Have a good day hun, I hope you feel better today :hug99: xxxxxx

:bighug::bighug::bighug:

ohhh boxing! i have that on wii sports and wii fit, so maybe should try hat, and maybe use some light weights (or tins of beans) with it. that will help with any frustration no doubt too. must try in a bit! i haven't seen that thread before, but might have to have a look in a mo or 2. i didn't really take my full body measurements at the start. just my waist. i kind of wish i had now!
the idea of meeting a real person is nice, but usually i find it difficult to get around as i don't drive! but maybe one day. i never say never!
feeling a bit brighter today. Thanks for being there. :bighug:

As usual you're right. i do lack general confidence. the very idea of not wearing jogger bottoms and a t-shirt scares me! i haven't really learnt what suits me yet. i know what suited me when i was slimmer, but as i got bigger i just covered up. i will have a look at the rosemary conley exercises. i used to enjoy her videos when i was growing up (my mum was always dieting) so i know it should be simple to follow.
feeling a bit better today. will exercise shortly, and maybe that will help too. :bighug:

Morning! Have watched the rosemary conley thing (and tried a bit of it) , and looked through the what size at what weight thread. Even sorted out an exercise plan :greenapple: Looks like we have a date for the wedding too - June 30th (only 13 weeks and 2 days away!!)

Off for a dreaded smear test this morning  followed by a fruit scone & jam!

Food for today: Breakfast: 2 weetabix (HEx B), milk (HEx A)

Snack: fruit scone (5 syns) and jam porion (1 syn)

Lunch: apple (SF), orange (SF), pear (SF), tomato 'n' herb pasta 'n' sauce (free)

Dinner: homemade lasagne (9 syns), SW wedges (free), carrots (SF), broccoli (SF) & peas (free)

Snack: mixed berries (SF)

Syns: 15

Ah yes smear - leave your dignity at the door. But a necessary evil all the same.

Your menu looks good and WOW at you with the exercise all sorted out. End of June you'll be a shadow of your former self. Take measurements now so you can see where all it comes from. Obviously do the usual places but do stuff like thighs calves and bingo wings too. I've even been known to do my neck and wrists. Know I lose on my wrists cos my watch is loose.

Hope you're having a good day. :)

smear  was worse than i remembered it being, but hopefully that's it for 3 years!:D good idea. will write down all measurements in a mo in one of my notebooks! (then try not to look at it again until the week before the wedding) really pleased with exercise i've managed today: 20 mins beginner zumba, 10 minutes fitness stepping, 10 minutes boxing, and 10 minutes tricep exercises with tins of kidney beans, and another 5 minutes bicep curls with 3kg weights. :D am convincing my OH to play on the wii with me in the evening, so we're doing lots of bowling and archery! better than just sitting watching TV! and the nurse weighed me today, and was pleased i had lost weight. let's see if i can shift more! it has to go!

Finally took all my measurements! They're hurrendous :giggle: but at least now I'll be able to see where the weight goes from. did my waist, hips, bust, under bust, belly, thighs, calfs, ankles, wrists, widest part of foot, neck and even my wedding finger! would be nice to be able to wear my rings again!!

Right, food plan: (bearing in mind there's next to no food in the house!) - shopping tonight!:(

Breakfast: 2 weetabix (HEx B), milk (HEx A)

Lunch: mixed berries (SF), tomato 'n' herb pasta 'n' sauce (free)

Dinner: chicken kiev (7 syns), green beans (SF), carrots (SF), potatoes (free)

Exercise plan: 20 mins zumba, 10 mins fitness stepping, 10 mins boxing, 10 mins tricep exercises, 5 mins bicep exercises, and a walk if i still have time. also cleaning out kitchen cupboards!

Syns: 7

2lbs off for me this week!:D:D:D off out for day!

Morning LMC

:woohoo: 2lbs is amazing hun, what a star you are :winner:

Just a thought, I always measure my calfs and upper arms as they will be places that will disappear quite quickly while exercising, so basically your bingo wings and calfs ....I have lost loads off of mine.

Have a lovely day out, and take care hun :hug99: xxxx
