LJ's Journey to be Slim by Sixty

BBC2 Tuesday at 8pm Allotment Challenge. Im not sure what the programme is but there might be ideas you could use.

Hi - glad work went quickly - it's a good feeling to clear the backlog isn't it?

And yes as we've said before, the synned stuff goes down too easily but so hard to return to free and superfree!! well ur food today looks great and u'll both be able to have a smooth smoothie in the morning with ur new gadget!!

Sorry to hear about Snoopy - they're so trusting aren't they and so reliant on us to cure them!! Get well soon Snoopy!!

I'm sure u'll all love getting into allotment life - I've started sowing seeds in trays and pots:

* tomatoes and asparagus for the first time (fingers crossed they germinate!)
* peas which are easy
* purple sprouting broccoli which is easy & leaves came up quickly but the 'heads' took a long time - will try the leaves as veg or in soup I think
* spinach, salad leaves, herbs - easy & I think salad leaves and herbs are the best money savers!!
* hope to plant potatoes & onion sets & sow more seeds this week

I don't have a big garden but squeeze in what I can - unlike ur allotment - u'll be spoilt for space! I'm having 2 raised beds put in soon - so that'll be a new 'toy' - seen ppl do them on allotments too. I'm going to have a go at square foot gardening - they say u can grow things more intensively this way - I'll experiment this year and let u know!

Well it was all going well yesterday but the call of the frozen pizza and remaining chocolate orange was just to loud! All gone now and have managed today on plan! Phew!

Ooh oh look at all your crops! Yes I think the salad leaves will be the best! So expensive and I do eat a lot of those.

We are going to use raised beds to. We are going to get started on Friday! I think Friday and Saturday will be putting up the fence. Then hopefully we can get our potatoes in.

Tea- Shapers Jerk Chicken wrap and 3 tiny pieces of sushi. Blackberries. About 300 calories in each and 6 g of fat. At least they didnt need cooking. hope everyone has had a good day. :)

Snack - cereal bar (hexb), banana

Lunch - cheese pasta, peppers, sweetcorn, ham

Snoopys eye is looking worse, and the medicine is making her sick! So I haven't stopped giving her that and will take her back to the vets tomorrow. See if we can get eye drops instead. Poor little thing. I think she was happy I was home, she followed me about until I sat down then she curled up on me. So cute!

Hi - not that odd - sounds nice to me apart from houmous and sushi which I'm not keen on! A very low calorie and low fat day then!! I'm quite envious of the convenience of it - my flipping freezer needed a spare part and I had to defrost it last night - so gave half away and decided to cook the rest - still need to do the pork chops and mince which I turn into a casserole and spag bol - cook the salmon and a soup with the petit pois - I'll be up till midnight!!

Hope u'll get back to home comforts soon!

Hi everyone - hope u've had a good day - weather here was good - so on top of cooking freezer food like a lunatic - I started to clear out the shed - I can hardly fit another packet of seeds in there!! But lots happened here today but finishing the shed didn't - so a lot is left on the lawn!!

Caught up with CJ and Mo's news - hope Doreen and LJ are fine!

Here's my food (taken at irregular times!!)

B: berries and yog

Snack: Satsuma

Lunch: minestrone soup

Tea: made a salad with defrosted prawns but they tasted funny so just ate the salad then was hungry so had a chicken sandwich (2 x HEBs)

Syns - 8.75 on choc

Exercise - 65 mins walk

Fab food day Linda ! :p Well done hun and on the body magic, looking forward to your post on the other side :D.

Kay xx

Thx Mo - altho my garden's a fraction of the size of an allotment - I'm going to watch that - it'll be interesting to see 'ordinary' ppl (as opposed to the professionals I mean) growing stuff!

Hello Everyone. I had a lovely surprise today. I needed some new trousers as all of mine seemed very loose and baggy. I ended up in size 14 trousers!!!!! I was so pleased I wanted to shout it from the roof tops. I was amazed. I then went and bought a top and jumper also size 14. Its a long time since I have worn that. :)

Hello Everyone. Food today- 2 toast. Lunch- m&s spicy vegetabe and lentil soup with 2 bread. Dinner- trout with peas and 3 rice cakes. I have blackberries and mullerlight ready for supper. Tomorrow will be my last day with a cooker and fridge. Ive kept my food going but next 3_4 days will be tricky. it may be sandwiches.

Congratulations on the size 14 trousers.!! Also good luck with the takeaways. Chicken byriani (spelling) is not bad if you have an indian nearby.

Thanks Doreen - it is a pain but trying not to get too het up about it - but not happy that he hasn't replied to the e-mail I sent on Tuesday (he always uses e-mail to us unless he's sending a document!)

PPI has been one big scam isn't it - my husband is just looking into his claim - the bank charged payment cover on his credit card for 5 years but he didn't sign up for it - he's not eligible as he's self employed - and yes u've guessed it - our personal, business & credit card accounts are with the same bank!!

Hope ur cheque arrives soon - I suppose the 2 Bank Hols coming up will be the next excuse grrrrrrr!!

I had a call from the company yesterday (in England I might add) they said that they have cancelled the cheque because it has not been cashed, ...............and I should receive another no later than Thursday even tho` they have to quote 7-10 days. We will see.

That PPI has a lot to answer for. This particular one was the AA,..ooh post, hang on...nah rubbish.
carrying on, I also had an Evans card and they are saying I knew about it so will not refund. Of course I did not so the company dealing with my claims are going back to them.

As for self employed not being eligible that is really bad.

Snoopy sounds lovely, Sorry to hear she not good with her eye - naughty mummy - What colour is she? I used to have cats, I love them, but not practical now that I go further afield to look after the grandkids a lot.

Hope the vet helps.

Am trying to catch up but so many pages since I have really looked.

CJ, if I give you a hand back onto the wagon, will you give me a shove up too? 2 bad days.
Good luck with the allotment it sounds like you really mean business. The allotment challenge programme Mo mentioned sounds interesting. May have a look at that and see if I can do anything with my little patch.
