LRO...name needs to change, I think ;(

Ooooh, PS time :D It's thankfully over for me now, if you need any further advice then don't hesitate to ask - my PS got me into Imperial with some pretty terrible GCSEs (3A*, 1A, 4B, 1C, 2D!) - bear in mind that's terrible by Imperial's standards :p

Where's he applying to? One of my friends is (grades permitting) going to HYMS to do medicine.

Ooh it's exciting. Congrats to both of them, I get the impression that Highers are slightly harder than A Levels so doubly well done to your eldest :D

I have 12 days until my results! Very nervous, although I dug out my AS results this afternoon and found out I had a few more marks than I originally thought in Physics so it's not too bad :p

Long post, haha. I'm also intrigued by this bandage dress. Do tell ;)

Holy crap. I did 8.5 miles today and that nearly killed me. I think my bum is bruised! How did you do 33 miles?!

You build up slowly and gradually Jess - and if you want to do any real distance, then you MUST buy a pair of ladies cycling shorts - they are padded VERY differently to the men's so make sure its ladies.

My bike is only a cheapy from decathlon - think I will be looking for a lighter, hybrid bike for christmas - will make it so much easier.

I really enjoy it - although that last 10miles back from Stafford was an absolute killer - didn't enjoy that bit much.

Thighs been ok today - went to Cannock Chase with little un and took our bikes. Did a 10 mile ride which was actually quite hard cos it was mostly off road - bumpy and stoney which makes cycling up the hills a bit challenging to say the least.

Thanks for the offers of help on the personal statement front ladies - will be picking your brains.

Jenni - he is applying to 4 of the Scottish uni's as tuition fees are free to scottish students and that will make a massive difference on a 5yr course. I think at the moment, Glasgow is his preferred choice but that's just cos he hasn't been to any of the others - we are going for a day trip out to Aberdeen, Dundee and St Andrews on Thursday - just to have a look - a quick one mind as we drive past en route to the next one!!

I think Highers are just different to A levels rather than harder - you have to do more and you have to do them in one year but A levels probably go into more depth on any given subject - no sure....I did A levels so I tell them that they are much, much harder....didn't get close to all As though - just the one for mummy :D

Aaah, mine was off road, that must have been it ;) lol. Padded shorts.. I will remember that for next time! I think I will buy a bike. I did still really enjoy it even though it was hard :)

Hiya Rosie well done on cycling 33 miles :worthy:
Not so sure on padded shorts though,do they make yer bum look big???...LOL :8855:Suppose they are ok if you dont get orf yer bike...

No seriously thats a fantastic achievement, how many AP's did you earn...x

The cycling shirt I have (track tart - seriously, that's the name of it) covers my bum anyway when I am on or off the bike - its called a "modesty flap"....I thought that was quite amusing myself.

No idea on the APs - I dont tend to count them anymore. I burned about 1400 calories - so a fair few I guess.

Morning Rosie

Are the bike rides helping shift those squatters? I'm expecting to hear a high pitched whine as they run screaming for the hills

M

Morning M, up and at it early I see.

I think they would be running for the hills but there is enough food going in to keep them busy for a while unfortunately!

Drastic measures are needed - my jeans are getting tighter.....

How can you burn 1400 calories and still gain weight? :p
I can't wait to go back to the gym to be honest - if nothing else then because it means I can eat more :p haha. It'd be nice to be a bit more toned, I definitely wobble too much for my liking :p

xx

love the fanny flap hahaha :D brilliant stuff! 1400 calories burnt? thats amazing Rosie.. you must be carrying these last few pounds in muscle now though right? you're doing sooooooooo much exercise i honestly cant see how you could be gaining fat??

hope you're doing okay anyway :) much love xxx

I agree with Rach ... they must be muscle and not squatters :)

Love the bum flap .... that sounds sooooo wrong!

Twigs
xx

Hello!!! I'm not quite sure what happened about meeting up when you were here? I've been fairly busy and it only dawned on me this morning? When was it? I am a clutz! x x x Looks like your getting closer to goal???

Was down there a couple of weeks back....never mind - I should be there again sometime. We will manage a coffee then. x

well, exactly!!!! its just not fair - I should be a total shadow of my former self - although in fairness, I have been eating stuff thats not good for me - and I think that the extra sugar/carbs in take is what is making me more bloaty round the middle.

I do have more toned bits than previously but can't say its all muscle unfortunately

Will be out tomorrow on the old bike I reckon - not been out for a week which is very bad of me but been busy at work.

Just stopping by to say hello

Well done on all the fitness xx

At least you have *some* muscle! :p
I'm all flabby bits, it's what made me still feel fat when I was 9 stone. I'm working on it though! :p

xx
