MAMA22 diary

Same here -- the frost stayed all day. I went into to Dunelm meet to meet a friend for a coffee, and then do a little shopping and my windscreen had started to frost over whilst I was in there!

It was freezing today for sure. I took the kids into town, got DDs eyes tested as she has had some headaches, but all is well. Took DS for his first ever haircut - he was good as gold. Then of course, I rewarded them for good behaviour with sweets and they both went mental in the supermarket- lol.

Sugared them up did you? Rookie mistake. ;) You reward them with playtime (indoor place on a cold day) -- and wear them out!!! Win-Win!

Nah - I don't believe that sugar makes them any more hyperactive. Its being indoors and not getting to run about that winds them up. They did a study on this - took a load of parents to a party, showed them the food the kids would get (normal party food, extra sweets and sugar) and then after the parents left removed it all and fed the kids healthy stuff. Then took another group and did the opposite (showed the parents healthy food and after they went, swapped it for junk). The parents who thought their kids had eaten sugar reported they were hyperactive at home, the parents of the kids fed healthy food reported they were fine. Its perception. I think they also did a test, possibly on the same groups, where at the end of one party they played a run about, hyper game. And at the end of the other they played a calming slow game/read a story. The ones who went home wound up were hyper, the ones who went home calm were calm.

Anyway - my kids were well behaved round the shops - by the time we go to the supermarket they were bored and went mental - completely understandable, if annoying. :)

Isn't this what I was saying? (The sugar comment was meant to be a joke.)

And, I totally agree with the deterimental effect of "revving" them up. I used to get so angry with my husband deciding to roughhouse with the kids right before bedtime.

Lost my post :-(

Got thought today with adding a small amount of cooked chicken but I needed to take painkiller and won't take them on an empty stomach TOTM :-( should WI in the morning but feel so bloated I might miss it as I don't think I could stand a STS or gain at the moment

On a positive I think I have found a dress for our vows renewal but it's discontinued so will have to get it made by a friend from our holiday in Thailand.

Ooh - did I miss that, I didn't know you were having a vow renewal. When and where. How long have you been married? Details!

All booked for next year April on a beach in Mexico got our 10th anniversary. We promised we would when we first got married as we wanted to do it on a beach then but his family said it was to far to fly and wouldn't come. So we changed plans and had our wedding at home, but next year we finally get the wedding we wanted.

So I did WI this morning and I'm up .8 not surprised and it's time on the month :-( I now have 28 days to lose 10lb let the flab fight begin lol

We can do this! I am going to get past this barrier of 10.7 this week. Grrrr.

Beach in Mexico sounds great. Oh - I wonder if you could do it at Chichenitza - now that would be amazing. :) Hmm- mental note. Although perhaps I should have the wedding before planning the vow renewal - lol.

I hope your were kidding here.

I just would LOVE to be under 11 stone. I lost a measly one pound and am not even 100% sure of that since my CDC cancelled on me and I had to weigh at home (different scale).

LOL -- do not get ahead of yourself.

My DH has refused to ever do a vows renewal... not for our 10th, our 20th and then this past week our 25th. He thinks it would be like saying we were never married in the first place. Not even a blessing.

I guess if his parents did not do it... it is not to be done.

I kind of feel the same. I'd love to have another wedding - especially now i'm slimmer - but when i said my vows they were forever, and the point of forever is that it doesn't need renewing. Not that i feel a renewal is a bad thing, and i would do it if my husband wanted, and like i say, i would really like certain aspects of it... but the actual vows bit i'm not sure i need.

Hmm - I was thinking less about the vows and more about the holiday - lol. Maybe after I marry, I will think about it more.

Oh - don't get me started on boys and their mummies! MILs are just driving me nuts today. Imagine if your OH was from a family who believed in polygamy (been watching Big Love adverts) and you had 3 or 4 MILs':cry:
