MinnieMel is nolonger considers herself a CDer. One final post.

good plans mel, I was speaking recently with a friend how we Europeans take bad care of our teeth compared to you, white smiling Americans ;) Here in Belgium I have quite a lot of friends with black or no teeth and it doesn't bother them. One of my best friend has lost 4 crowns and you can really see it when she smiles. And when we went to the US together and I bought an over the counter whitening paste, she said : or are you using this ? I'm afraid that would damage my teeth ;););)....

My father is planning on buying the kindle so I'll have a look at it, but I'm headed for the ipad use anyway and don't think I could afford buying both ;)

Have a good day Mel, you know that I have sometimes the feeling I found a kindred spirit on Minis ? your nice energy is just bursting through the screen.....;)

good luck on your tom tom reset up. It can be a pain....

Thank you so much for saying that. I feel the same way about you.

My day has been okay... I have a crack in a back molar (getting old, I guess). It isn't an issue, but I will have it "cleaned and repaired". I think I forgot to book my appointment to do this, so I will call and do that asap.

I had my teeth whitened the last time I was in the U.S. and the price included the moulds and starter whitening treatments, and I have never done them. I spoke with my dentist and hygenist today and they both said, "It is not a problem, unless you overdo it. And, if you overdo you'' know because you'll have sensitivity."

I saw my CDC and got some packets and another MAM. I asked her to order two for my next visit (next Thursday at 10:00). She is training Mon. Tues. Weds. for her new job and will be home that day. Then, she'll be doing 1/2 days, so I may be able to do an early afternoon appointment.

I was up 2 pounds on her scale (but I was wearing a heavy denim skirt). I reweighed at home with and without the skirt. The skirt made a 2 pound difference. So, I think I may be a STS in reality. I'll adjust my ticker, anyway.

Mel

Sounds like a busy day! Good luck getting weighed and stuff today, I'm sure you'll be fine and you have the drive anyway to keep going and get where you want to be. Ugh last time I was at the dentist I got my wisdom tooth out :( not pleasant. Now one of my bottom ones are coming in and its inflaming the gum around it and making all my teeth on that side sore :(. I hope once its in I can just leave it. I could've left the other one, but it stated rubbing into the bottom gum when I closed my mouth and irritated it a bit.
Sry to hear about the tomtom. Have you tried a software update? Unfortunately some of them need them to get all the new roads and stuff on them. We were having trouble with our sat nav because of that. not sure what brand ours is though.
Hope all oes well for you today :D

Aww you posted while I was lol.. hey that's not bad at all! I know people who gained loads on holiday so very impressive.

Hi MizPP --

I think I updated the software (I tried anyway), and I refuse to pay the fortune they want to update the maps. I am hoping that DH can figure it out. It was a very expensive one bought about 5 years ago -- today it'd cost about half of what we paid. :( DS's works fab and only cost about $169.00 (has US and Europe maps, too).

Thanks for the endorsement. I am one up (I think) and adjusted my ticker to reflect that. I am hoping that this will spur me to stick to my programme and get back at doign fitness. My BMR is so slow that I really got to "move it, move it".

Mel

Haha great now you got it stuck in my head..
"I like to move it move it..." lol
Yeah we didn't bother getting the maps either, its absolutely rediculous. Do you have a smartphone? Did you know that on a lot of them you can get a navigation app and it works just like the sat nav? We had to use it a couple times on the OHs phone when we were on holiday. It just used the info off of google maps and it should be free if not already installed on your phone. I know my OH would pay for something like that in a million years he'd just read a map.. woopee for him that he can do that so easily lol.

Do you have a smartphone?

I bought an iphone3 for my son (but the GPS has never worked right on it -- but he really does not mess with it much).

I also bought myself an iphone3S on ebay, but I sold it to my friend before I every used it -- because her smart phone broke and she was going nuts.

The four was coming out and I thought -- maybe I'll get one of those. But, I haven't. (I kind of thought my DH would get me one for my birthday. He did not.)

I do not think my friend has bothered to download the GPS app, yet.

I've seen android phones that use Googlemaps, but I do not like the feature as much as I like TomTom.

My TomTom has the bluetooth feature, and what I really like is the traffic update/reroute feature. If I'd been using my TomTom it would have rerouted me avoiding the traffic situation on the A14. It is so weird... you'll be driving along and all of a suddent the SatNav starts "replanning your route". Then, you know that it knows something that you do not. Very cool!

I actually like maps: I wanted to be a cartographer when I grew up (alas with modern technology that career choice was not an option).

i'm sure your weight gain was the skirt. i get weighed in the same clothes every week as i'm pedantic.

Ha! No word of a lie, two weeks ago I stood in my bedroom trying to feel a difference in weight between two pairs of knickers! I am all about maximising the weightloss...

i used to do this. i used to stand butt naked and hold my clothes weighing each different option until i found my lightest thing. better in summer than winter. can't really wear a thin short skirt and thin summer top in the winter.

My DH won't have a satnav either just uses maps.

My brother in law has one, but ignores the directions and goes his own way, I don't know why he switches it on or whatever you have to do to them.

well done on sts Mel

Omg that is so funny lol exactly what I need right about now lol

Happy Bonfire Night!

fireworks3.jpg

Went to the Village Hall Murder Dinner las night (sausages, beans and potato). I made and brought a salad -- had a MAM earlier -- then only had a small potato and some beans at the event. I did have two glasses of white wine, then switched to diet Coke. Not great -- but not too bad.

The Murder bit was a little lame, but everyone seem to have a good time. We were wrong -- so, I have really been wasting my time watching Alibi!

Got this morning and took DD to her first "higher level" swim session. She did really well and totally enjoyed it. I may getting up every Saturday to take her to swimming. Since it is at the local leisure centre -- it may be time to join and use the facilities whilst she swims. (I read through Beck and my ARCs today whilst I was there.)

We're off to the big base in a bit to "take care of business" lol. I really need to get going on my Christmas shopping. I asked DS to go online (AGAIN) and select some clothing from this company he likes for his Christmas gifts.

DD has no idea what she wants from "Santa".

I hope everyone is having a good weekend, so far.

Not sure if we'll do the Bonfire thing or not... I am big a baby when it comes to bad weather.

Mel

we're going to a large display later today. hope the rain holds off. it has rained this am but who knows. at least if it does rain i would suspect it will be quieter.
