Happy Friday All!

Well, I was up at o'dark thirty because DD came from school yesterday with a note that said her form was selling cakes today for Children in Need. I had to do the gymnastics run, then head to the grocery store to get milk, eggs and butter.

I made oatmeal butterscotchies instead of Reeses' Peanutbutter cup cookies, because I find those irresitable. The Oatmeal butterscotchies are amazing when warm from the oven, but I can resist them once they've cooled.

What is really funny... is that when I complained to DH about the short notice on the baked goods... he said, "Oh, I forgot. There is a Thanksgiving thing tomorrow at lunchtime... can you make some for me to take, too!?" MEN!

I still have the baking sheets to wash, but most of the mess is cleaned up and cookies were sent out. There are some here for the kids, but as I said... if they aren't right out of the oven... I can resist.

My CWPC sent me an email and asked to push our appt. to Tuesday morning. I think that will work BUT... I am out of MAM, so I am going to experiment by using some gelatine I have on hand. Wish me luck.

Anyway, I am caught up on clothes washing (still drying, folding and need to put away... and let's not even discuss ironing), so, I think I will strip the beds and do the linens.

I have a lot of other stuff I should be doing... but I'll continue by doing the beds after I have my lunch.

One liter of water in! :)
Some laundry done.:)
Cookies baked for both DD and DH!:):)
Food good so far! :)

... to be continued. lol

Wow those look amazing!! Why do fams always have to make days more busy than they have to be lol.. But you seemed to do good and getvit all done.. Super mom!

Hi Mel - supermum is right, how do you do it all? The cookies look so yummy. Have a great day cookie-free day today :) xx

@Yvonne --

Most the ones I left for the kids are gone (thankfully)! My DS seems to pick one up on every pass through the kitchen. It must be nice to be 5'10" and weigh about 9 1/2 stone! (He is drinking protein powders and working out to bulk up... I kindly offered him 3 stone, but he said, "I want muscle not fat." Lovely boy.)

I hope you have a good weekend!

LOL at DS picking one up every time, have visions of him making up reasons to pass through the kitchen just so he can grab another. Cheeky comment though - sprinkle some salt on the next one :8855: Hope you have a great day and a relax xx

Wow, you do sound like supermum! Sorry, just stopped by for a nose of your diary. I failed miserably at making anything for my DD school, although I am doing an Xmas cake for their raffle next Friday! Must get on with that. Anyway, great diary! :)

Got up, dressed, breakie... and out for haircut. Drew quite a crowd (all the other hairdressers and the beautician stopped to watch L cut 8 inches off of my hair on one swoop, before washing and cutting it into a "style").

I'll post the hair on Monday to the charity. I'll post a before and after rear photo later -- DD took one before, but she is out at the cinema with a friend atm.

After the haircut I bought some flowers to drop by CFF's (Cheese Fiend Friend) house. Before I went out, I called and woke her up to sing Happy Birthday to her. So, I dropped off the flowers and found out that yet another of her major appliances had met its maker. The count in the last several weeks is clothes washer, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner and now larder fridge! That's four in about as many weeks!

The washers were replaced with appliances purchased from a family moving back to States (lucky timing on that -- she got a good deal on both), the vacuum may still be under waranty (being sorted), but the loss of the fridge was a nightmare with all the Thanksgiving shopping crammed into both fridges.

So, I sat down at her netbook and shecked out ebay and started searching and emailing. We got someone to pull their fridge (no bids on it) and take her cash in hand and she picked it up at 3 p.m.! So, she has quickly replaced the fridge with a taller one: more space. YAY! (Not much of the birthday gift, but her DH had already given her a lovely necklace and earrings.) They are going to go out dinner in a bit.

Now, I am home not doing my chores... but I should get busy. Plus, I need to make up a shopping list for tomorrow. I am going out with CFF and another friend to do some Christmas, etc. shopping. I am starting to feel stessed about the mailing deadlines, etc. I prefer to shop when DD is in school, but the other friend works school hours.

Food was not great -- oatmeal this morning ok, coffee, some water (need more) -- but I did have a bit of birthday cake: her DH and DS made it). I'll have CD for a late lunch and possibly another for dinner or some soup. It'll be something light to compensate for the cake.

Still no fitness -- but with less hair I think Aqua Fit will be more attractive. My neck felt better the minute the pony tail was removed. WHEW! It was such a handicap.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Where do you send your hair to? Ive always had really long hair (i feel like having short hair qith my size wouldny look good).. But ive been think i might want to cut my hair idk how short though. As it is its about down to my bottom. Sry to hear about your friend, that is a lot of stuff to go all at once :( very bad timing. But you got a bit done so it was a good day :). Hope the cake was yummy!

Where do you send your hair to?

http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/donate/hair.aspx
We accept clean hair in good condition from men, women and children of all ethnicities. We accept hair that has been previously coloured or highlighted. We even accept hair that contains the odd grey! Curly hair and hair of any colour is acceptable too. We also would be delighted to receive previously cut hair as long as it has been cut within the last ten years and that it complies with the requirements below.
Your hair donation must measure however at least 7”/17cm in length.
Our wig-makers tell us that the main reason why a donation might be rendered unusable is that it is too short.

Whether you plan to have your hair cut or to have your head shaved, as some supporters do, the principles are the same:
  • Prior to the cut/shave, please wash your hair and not add any styling product.
  • Have your hair tied into a pony-tail, secured at both the root end and the tip end.
  • Ask your hairdresser to cut you hair above the band at the root end, thereby releasing a pony-tail, tied at both ends.
  • You are now in a position to have your hair cut further and styled or indeed shaved, if that is your intention.
  • Wrap your pony-tail tightly in tissue paper or cling-film immediately after it has been cut. Your hair will become tangled very, very quickly otherwise and again, this will render it unusable.
  • Place it in a padded envelope and post it using a regular postal service to:
  • Little Princess Trust
    c/o Trendco
    114-116 Sheridan House
    Hove
    BN3 1DD
    UK
  • If you are live within the UK and Ireland, please include your name and address in the parcel so that we may send you a certificate of thanks. Please note this can take three to four weeks.
  • If you live overseas, please include your email address and we will gladly email you a certificate. We are always looking for ways to save on costs so that all the precious money that is raised by our enthusiastic donors, is put to the best use possible, so we hope you understand.
Ive always had really long hair (i feel like having short hair with my size wouldn't look good).. But ive been think i might want to cut my hair idk how short though. As it is its about down to my bottom.

I had ten inches cut off (plus, the trimming and shaping afterwards) and it still touches my shoulders in the front. It'll grow back. No biggie.

Sry to hear about your friend, that is a lot of stuff to go all at once :( very bad timing.

I know -- but the "new" (used) fridge is bigger than the old one was, so she is quite chuffed.

But you got a bit done so it was a good day :).

Not really, I need some motivation!

Hope the cake was yummy!

It was kind of overcooked, but it was made with love bu her DS and DH, so I loved it.

Hi MizPP,

I'll get DD to take the after photo, she is back from cinema and I'll post the before and afters.

Mel

Some haircut pictures. The pony tail is 10 inches long. You only need to cut off 7 inches for this charity to use tomake a wig. My hair is longer in the front -- it touches my collar bones.

Wow thats a big difference! Mine goes down way farther than that.. Ill have to consider that in the new year (maybe sooner its seems like its trying to strangle me at night and he OH calls me madusa( lol

Mel - thats quite the transformation, I am still getting over the fact that you can send your hair to charity. I am cynical and I suspect my hair would be made into a liverpool girls weave and get lost in primark or something on the back of the door in the changing room, would be just my luck.

Mel - you are superwoman, I just wanted you to know that I have confirmed it, I looked superwoman up on Wikipedia and there was a picture of the back of your head...:)

@MizPP -- Just cut off enough to donate and see how you like it mid-length. It grows back -- I had very short hair three years ago and have had it trimmed in the meantime. You can see it in my before and after photos.

@BettiesRevenge -- Not even close to superwoman these days.... but thanks for that. But, I do know a few, and like you they are working mothers with small children. I remember those days.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Mel

Good morning lovely Mel :) how lovely and kind of you to donate your hair, there was a programme on a few years ago. The singer Jamelia did this and it showed how and why ppl do this.
