So RawrGirl just read most of your diary (she did skip a few pages in the middle), and just wanted to say congrats on how far you've come. Your work schedule (and the emotional stress/trauma it entails) sounds like a nightmare, and yet you persevere through it. Well done. Not many people could do that, work those kind of hours, deal with that kind of stress, and eat right, and squeeze in the gym. You are amazing and should feel very proud of yourself! And btw that white dress you wore a few pages back was adorable.

A few questions:

pink trainers = running shoes/sneakers, right?

ATM = At the moment?

Sts = stay the same?

tbh = ???

oh = ???

No, RawrGirl isn't using Orlistat, she is just doing a VLCD (protein shake for breakfast and lunch and a chicken veggie dinner, and on weekends she eats 1200-1500 -- all is low carb, so she stays in Ketosis). She got fed up with WW and Atkins because she would always get stuck at a certain weight or lose VERY slowly (like .4 lb and .8 lb and .2 lb weekly losses). The VLCD is working pretty well, though she doesn't have a scale (Prince Charming hit it from her), but she takes her measurements weekly and always loses something (even if just 1/4 an inch). No longer having the scale actually keeps her faithful to the diet as she used to eat to console herself if a STS or a gain, and ate to celebrate a loss, lol. She also lifts weights 6x a week and ice skates (very sporadically).

I'm feeling really depressed there a couple of girls at work doing tfr and are loosing weight very quickly and looking amazing and I am super jealous!! And I really want to do it!!

Tbh the only reason I've not signed up is bc Marcus isn't keen but I'm not sure how much longer ill be listening to him for lol!!

I just keep thinking that I'd only have to do it a month before I'd be near enough target!!

I know why I'm not loosing its the constant fluctuations from all my crappy shifts but not a lot I can do ey!!

I think if you chose to do it, it might mess with your head and perhaps when you get to weight loss target, your find it more difficult to go back to SW for maintenance ??

As I've said previously perhaps look at the amount of bread, rice, pasta etc your eating and eat less of those items and maybe your weight losses will increase because your eating less of the carbs.

Have more veg, more meat, nuts & seeds to replace the carb items!!

OR just stop stressing and carry on as your doing GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! and are looking fab :)
 
Keep going Hun, I'm not sure that with your active life that a vlcd is the right way to go, but whatever you decide we will all be here to support you..and you are looking fabulous :)
 
Thanks ladies appreciate the support as I said this is just my monthly melt down I'm sure! Starting a fresh again tomorrow!!

(may be snacks throughout the day)

Dinner
Jacket potatoes
Cheese lf 42g hea
Onion
Light mayonnaise 2syns
Quorn pieces x4 = 2syns

Total 8syns

On a long day at hospital so won't be exercising tomorrow!!

And mb I can't give up carbs bc that tends to be my staple with work it's easy quick and filling and doesn't require a lot of planning so I'm not able to get rid of those!!

And nuts are ridiculously high in syns!

I think I just need to lower syns when I'm not at work really so I can compensate for the fluctuations! X

Actually that's a good point lisa. Kirsty you can't do the except you do on a vlcd. You'd die

Very true you would have no energy for exercise or walking round the hospital or any other energetic horizontal exercise except sleeping ,) lol

From what I've read of the VLCD diaries - they don't do exercise, so are prob loosing muscle as well as fat ..
 
i dont think i would even be tempted by the vlcd anymore, i have seen so many people lose weight and then pile that and more back on. Not saying all do but some! I think stick to what your doing, its working hun you have lost so much weight this way, and it is a healthier way to do it. Keep you chin up and carry on :D
 
It's all self sabotage! I get close to a new goal wi a new sticker or a new stone and I play around! It's almost like I'm scared subconsciously and is top myself!!

It's stupid and I have absolutely no idea why I do it!! It's so frustrating! But that's it now!!!

I even think before I eat this isn't more important that being in the 12s or I won't loose weight I I eat this and then I respond with oh well?!!

I know it's stupid! And I simply just need to refocus my mind - so last night I started my self hypnosis again before bed. And ill be ensuring I pick up my exercise again!!!

Not sure ill make 12 before Xmas but there we go!!! Xx
 
I think that's exactly what you are doing Hun ... What are you weighing in at now? Sorry can't see full details on phone, but I believe you are a lot nearer to 12 than you think little lady :)
I know you can do this, don't let that self doubt get to you :)

That's the problem though bc I'm so close I've lost it. Last official was 13.1.5 but I'm sure ill gain tomorrow xx
