Moonlights' (temporary) Maintenance

How could I forget! I still have my mums old copy of LOTR although if you pick it up all the pages fall out...

TOTM fiiiinally showed up for realsies this evening. I thought it was going to as I woke up feeling a lot less hungry and a little less insane. Still managed to eat a metric ton of food though

Bacon and scrambly eggs, 1 cherry tomato

Venison steak (125g) and 2 portobello mushrooms

Cheese and calvados bake with celeriac and celery dippers

Spoonful peanut butter

The man from mfp, he say that was 25g carbs inc my meds.

Also trialling hermestas liquid sweetener. Flipping expensive but meant to have utterly 0 carbs.

Morning ML... Menu looks yummy! Im in the metric ton category at the moment - it will soon change though ! Xxx

LOL isnt it nice when the whole "come over here so I can scream at you" feeling passes! :D

I have some too (for the same no carb reason). I don't use it very often but my last house sitter was bowled over, she said it really tasted like sugar but left no after taste :)

I shall have to get some hermesetas ! X

Im still not the most pleasant company don't get me wrong but improving. And have terrible cramps owww. Am putting serious thought into becoming a gay man.

Re: hermestas - it's good, tastes fine, but very expensive and I'm having trouble figuring out the amounts to use. I either over sweeten or under sweeten everything, including my not quite sweet enough Swiss roll this morning.

Swiss rooooolllll. Recipe in 'moonlights meals' in the recipe section.

Added lemon flavouring and hermestas today but not quite enough of each. Still ok but wanted it sweeter.

That Swiss roll looks absolutely yummy!!!

I must look into the Hermesetas liquid because I really struggle to find artificial sweeteners that I get on with. I tried Sainsbury's own but didn't much like it, and now I'm using up some Canderel Stevia which I don't particularly like either. I always seem to be left with an unpleasant aftertaste, or they don't taste genuinely sweet somehow

I can live with that in the short term, but I know I won't in the long term and I'll end up using sugar instead , so I really need to crack this.

Oh I can't stand stevia bleh bleh bleh. Ordinary candarel are my favorites but hermestas tastes much the same to me.

Hi Moonlight, hope now totm arrived that you feel better:)

Lol at the reading - i still like a load of fantasy and sci fi and remember re-reading the whole LOTR when i was ill about 10. Blame my parents as was read tolkien from when i was teeny.....:)

Hope meds get balanced and do their thang

Ps - i've just given up on sweetners altogether....

What a miserable sh!tty day. I hate money and well, I hate everything right now.

Food.

Swiss roll

Roast pork with leek, asparagus, spinach, celeriac. Red currants.

Cheddar cheese

Mfp: 30g carb

Food today:

Bacon, scrambled egg, portobello mushrooms

Almond bread with smoked salmon and cream cheese, cucumber, cherry tomato

Whipped sweetened cream

Mfp: 20g carbs inc meds

Perhaps deceptively, it was 1534 calories worth of food. Around 70 percent of calories from fat. I don't tend to list the butter I cook with etc but it all goes on MFP plus bacon, cream, almond flour all high cals.

I'm ok. Low but I've been low for months and life is a stressful mess but what can you do but muddle through.

Morning ML, I have been catching up on your diary, you have had a rough summer, are you still planning on going away in sept? you could do with a break, I cant believe the difference a holiday has made to me, I had not been away for 4 years, other than some long weekends. I now feel ready to tackle anything.

Your posts are always an inspiration.

And I'm going to shake Jim's veg stick at you lol!! Where's your green leafies? I forget all about using MFP to check on people's menus, but blame age :D (and the fact I don't have it set as a favourite at work) Are you taking a vitamin supplement as part of your meds? Must be really difficult for you to get that balance with all that you been through xx

Cucumber tomato and mushroom! 3 veg a day will do me I think. I tend to have some days high in veg and some low through a natural cycle.

(bit scared to hear about Jim's veg stick though!!)

I'm taking prescription vitamins, intravenous vitamins and a regular multivitamin. I would say I'm covered but given that I'm profoundly deficient in nearly all of them it's not true. However I get barely any nutrients from food so a plateful of spinach wouldn't do much for me unfortunately. Bit of a complicated situation.

Hi Sammy! No holiday I'm afraid, can't afford it. Would desperately love one though but priorities are priorities. It's coming up to 9 years on the last one! I don't know, maybe something will come up. Fingers crossed :)

Crikey, Susie! I'm afraid I'll get it waved at me again today...

Les foodables:

Pancetta and scallops

Venison steak and spring onion

Cheddar, cucumber, mayo

Cream

Mfp: 22g carbs inc meds

Contemplating spinach tomorrow, hmmmmmmm.
