Moonlights' (temporary) Maintenance

Afternoon ML, great result last night in the race, hope you enjoyed the day.
I bought nutella for DD today and read the ingredients. I wonder could we make an atkins style one, nut butter with cream and cocoa, it would probably be good with your drop scones. I am going to give it a try when I am finished induction.

Am sure you could Sammy - spoonful of cocoa and dash of sweetener with some hazelnut butter. Melted dark choc probably even better. I think I did something similar with peanut butter once.

Scrumbles - funny thing is I don't cook at all. Made some failed fairy cakes once but as far as 'normal' baking that's the furthest I've ever gone. Always just had shop bought stuff.

Well I've been trying to get enough energy to type this and still don't have much so in brief - beautiful amazing day at the Paralympics but a bit of a failure for me. In a rush in the morning so no breakfast, then was asked to share the roast chicken I picked up on the way (couldnt really say no) which left me foodless by 4pm. But tbh I hadn't brought enough anyway really as didn't get home until gone 2am. Had planned on relying on a bunless McDonald's but no venues inside the stadium itself and once you've gone into the stadium area you can't get into the main park. Then afterwards no time to find the McDonalds and most food venues were closed so couldn't risk the 20 minutes walk to find out when it was so late anyway. Just made the last fast train - which then got delayed. So all in all - ate off plan. Not pleased by it but I really was left with little choice - should have brought more with me but I can't carry heavy things and just thought I'd have enough. C'est la vie.

Stadium and atmosphere and everything were amazing - our sears were right opposite the medal ceremonies and the finish line so we had a great view.

Am in agony and exhausted but worth it!

Weighed in yesterday at 12.6 which would have been a 1lb loss. Not counting that as I'm sure it will be back up today & also not weighing, so will treat this week as a sts and hope to shift that pound again by next fri.

oh that sounds like a painful day, my oh wanted to go to the olympics but i couldnt face the travelling and the crowds etc. We went to a late Arsenal match with my son once it was terribly there were cancelled trains all london was virtually at a stand still, we walked miles to the stadium, i was in agony, they were rushing i couldnt keep up, my legs were burning my throat n heart were pounding. luckilly they delayed the match coz of the travel problems but i was in agony and worn out through the whole match, there was no time to eat so had to eat rubbish, then at the end we had to find a way home without missing the last train, which thankfully pulled out just as we got on it. that really put me off going to these things again. I kept thinking it wouldnt be like this if i was thin and fit... i was 4 stone heavier then, it was awful. Son loved it, loved the match, wish i had stayed at home tho lol

hope that in time you only remember the fun part of going!!

To be honest everything from the tube at Waterloo onwards was brilliant - went to the equestrian events during the Olympics at Greenwich and the organization there was fantastic too, absolutely flawless. I've definitely had worse travels across London just during an ordinary rush hour. It was just the overground that had problems.

I certainly wasn't put off going, it was a wonderful experience. I'd go again if there was time for a few days recovery in between. I'd just take more of my own food! A couple of nets of babybels might have been a better idea for small regular snacks rather than trying to have meals.

Ah well it's not like I get out often and that was a wonderful night bar the food.

Wasn't in pain yesterday though did a lot of walking and was exhausted (I essentially deal with chronic fatigue as a result of medical issues etc) but my gosh I am in pain today, whole stupid back has seized up, can barely move (hence why I don't get out often).

Food today:

1/4 rotisserie chicken and mayo

Venison steak and scallops with spring onion

Mug of alpro

Mfp: 15g carbs - v low but hey I need to get back into k.

i tried the salami crisps and really really liked them will deffo do them again for a snack!

Morning ML... Well done for getting through the Paralympic day!! Long day and you survived! Hope you have a restful weekend xx

I must do salami crisps for myself again soon! I haven't in a month or so.

Soooo achy and having a blue day (aren't they all lately - I'm pretty useless) but back in ketosis.

So glad you managed to enjoy your Paralympic experience. My own day trip to the Olympics was a bit of an exercise in survival, too. I suffer from a chronic back condition that makes continuous standing/walking very painful, so I wasn't amused to have to wait in a vast queue to get from Wembley Stadium to Wembley Park Station after the match was over: it took an hour of slow shuffling to cover about a quarter of a mile, and I was in agony at the end of it. Not a happy memory, but eh...I'm still alive!

Pity about the food situation, but this was a complete one-off experience and you weren't to know what the food availability would be like. More important to keep yourself fuelled and enjoy your trip, I would say! :)

Tried your almond bread recipe today, it was a hit! The husband thought it was fab and will do nicely for his low carb packed lunches.

Ah, glad you liked the almond bread! Everyone seems to.

Scrumbles - I have something similar although much better now than it used to be. Shoulders are still seized up but painkillers help.

Food today

Venison steak, egg, spring onion

Pack of large king prawns with cucumber and mayo

Morning ML... Menu sounds lovely - I must do the venison thing as its a healthy option and I so very rarely have it!

Hope shoulders un seize soon! Xx

Morning ML ... there seems to be a slight problem sleeping on this diary! Hope you start feeling more balanced and less 'off' soon! Hugs xx

Morning ML, sounds like you had a great time. Like everyone said, it's so difficult to eat wisely when your out and about.

Hope you feel better and have a good day. x

Bloated - I can only assume by the painkillers but it's not making me feel very good about myself. Not taking any more, will just deal with my back hurting for a while.

Must be the tabs but if they are helping you should continue... The bloating will ease off soon enough xxx

Evening hun - sorry to hear your back is giving you grief, and the bloating - i'm sure you are glugging the water down though, which will sure help xxxx
