NannyDoreen & Upndown's daily diaries

Morning Linda

Have updated my food for yesterday. I had a ham and pickle sandwich for 6 syns, still only 8.1/2 for the day but would I have had it if I had not weighed myself???? Like you said it can make you eat more

I had a phone call from Nik just after 9. He had taken Flynn to school --- Flynn who always cries on the first day back ---- and Nik told teacher that Flynn is having trouble hearing as he is all blocked up and the teacher laughed and said "I will have to shout at you then Flynny" Flynn laughed, said goodbye to Dad and ran up the stairs to the class. Nik rang to tell me because that is such a big milestone.

Just thought I would share that as they are so at the front of my thoughts right now.

I wouldn't worry about that sandwich - you were well within syns and as Linda said - if u hadn't eaten that u might have been hungry later on.

ah bless Flynn - he's growing up as u say it's a nig milestone! It's lovely to hear nice stories like that! Good that hos teacher sounds understanding too.

I know how horrible it is when a child cries going into school - my youngest cried every day - he'd ease off a bit by the last week of term - then would be back screaming and hanging on to me on the first day of the next term - he's 32 now and his friends still occasionally rib him about it!xx

well I ended up having a green day today and really enjoyed it - esp having 2 hebs! looks like we've all had a good day but Mo's quiet - hope she's ok - perhaps she's busy with her new house. here's my food:

b: 60g bread heb, boiled egg, mayo 1 syn mixed with white vinegar, lettuce, cucumber, apple
l: 30g mature cheddar hea on 60g bread heb, cherry toms, orange
t: SW vegetable casserole with celery, onion, cabbage, pepper, carrots, potato, garlic, basil, tomato puree, baked beans s&p. chilli doritos 7.5 syns! (multi pack) but worth it!
drinks : fruit tea

So glad Flynn had a good re-start at school, Doreen. :) Sounds like he's got a good teacher.

Kathy xx

Kathy he is a lovely teacher. He has gingery brown hair, it did look a bit like a monk style without the bald bit at the top, he had it cut a few weeks ago so now it sticks out all over the place. He has been fantastic to `Flynny` since the first day and when the children come out of the class one at a time he waves to the person picking them up. Like a little kid wave. All the parents speak really well of him. Mr Shackleton - he is great :D

In the same school but just down the road my Faye (10) also has a great teacher. Same colour hair as Mr Shackleton. A but hippy with a pony tail from low down on his head. Faye loves him. He is a scot and made Faye laugh when he said to her get yer gubbings together. Gubbings, we used to say that when we were kids. In case you don`t know it means - get your things together ready to go.

Just a useless bit of information xx

What a good day Linda. Is team Doreen following my lead?? If so I had best try my hardest to keep it up :character00116::cross:
Green day, that is different. Not done one of those for months.

Keep it up,

I must say I did enjoy my dinner tonight, roast spuds & roast parsnips, mmmmmmm

ooh it's getting exciting now Doreen - another excellent day - you shd be very proud of yourself - we all are (as you can tell from our posts I hope!)

Reading about spaghetti makes me fancy some yum yum!

Thank you so much, I can tell too. It helps me to try harder. I am on that thread - how many on plan days this year. Me - so far this is my 6th day.

I love tinned spaghetti with my eggs or with sausages especially.

not useless - nice to hear - esp when u hear so many negative stories about education - one of my DiL's is a teacher - during term time she works long hours at home - marking and preparing lessons and loves the job and it fits in with the children.

Yes Minis is such a help - I joined last January and never imagined I would still be here a year later esp after doing so badly after my holiday - if I'd stopped posting we all know what would have happened to my weight!!

I still occasionally think about LJ and her daughter CJ - hope they found another way to lose their weight.xx

Nanny doreen they say diabetics shouldn't do the new plan sorry!

Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins.com

I did know before I got the books as I had looked on the internet. If I fancy a change I can always add a few spuds like I used to for heb on red.
However thanks very much for pointing it out to me. I would have had a problem with it if I followed it as it stands.

I think about them too. If it wasn`t for LJ we wouldn`t be talking to each other now.

Well here we go another day hopefully on plan.
I have just been on Ebay to buy some threads and needles for my cross stitch. They are so much cheaper than buying at the big shops. I feel a bit guilty sometimes but heck it is my money.

Had a layin today till 10am. Mind you I was up in the night for about 1.1/2hrs as my head started working overtime. If I drank less liquid I probably wouldn`t wake up as often as I do but I do like my coffee.

I had a small breakfast so I could take my pills (part of my new year resolution) just 1 toast 1 egg & a tbs of spaghetti and a coffee of course.

Have spent the morning, or most of it, having a clear up. I live on my own but goodness I can make the place untidy. All spick and span now. Just the kitchen floor to wash.

What a boring post. Now I am going to the new menu planner on line to plan a couple or 3 days food.

Have a good day everyone. Still no Mo. Hope she is ok.

Lol, not really a boring post. We all do stuff like that; not every day can be exciting.
Good for you menu planning, I've done mine for tomorrow but waiting to see scale results on Friday before doing more. I think I'll just be going back to EE andaybe a couple of days SP each week.
I too hope Mo is ok x

As Cloudy says - not boring - just jobs we all have to do unless we have a servant or can magic the housework to do itself!

Don't feel guilty either - we all need to get good value for money!

I hope ur smaller b'fast doesn't leave u hungry? xx

I wish I'd known a few months ago that you did cross stitch embroidery. I had a huge box with loads of skeins of thread and needles, hoops, fabric and pattern books that in the end I took to the charity shop as no one here wanted it and I was trying to clear out the spare room to decorate it. I'd happily have sent it to you.
At the time I didn't think of putting it on Ebay, for someone that knew what it all was, it would have been a good buy.
