What's on page 35 Cazza? Enquiring minds need to know!

LOL, cross-posted.

See, just says herbal tea. It used to specify leaf teas I think.

As above Lily :(

Why the sad face?

Meh no tea for me then until I've asked my CDC, she's on the ball and will know.

That doesn't make any sense. All of the consultants on the CWP site are saying all teas are fine.

I agree, doesn't make sense. Would be good to know what Cambridge themselves say. The tweet says no to fruit and flower teas Lily, that's why the sad face :(

Hmm. I'll go and paste the tweet on the CWP forum and see what comes back...

Oh blinkin eck what have I started .................... well I will let you know as soon as I hear back from HQ and no tea for me till I know one way or the other from them. at the moment Im not desperate enough to risk coming out of fat burning.

Off to be cos Im shattered, but keep going everyone we are doing well!!! - amyone heard from slim ?

No still no word from her :( It's so frustrating getting conflicting reports on these things from different CWPC's, but then having seen a few different CWPC's over the years this seems to be a common theme sadly

But that tweet is weird anyway in that it says you can have leaf teas on Step 2...

We're pretty sure you can have them on Step 1.

If that bit's wrong, I suspect it's all wrong.

Anyway, I've asked the question on the other forum.

Lets wait and see what the other forum says and what HQ says. Would be good to know one way or the other once and for all :D

Well, I've now found 2 posts on the other site that state Head Office have confirmed that all herbal teas are allowed. Apparently they did some research which showed that practically no one's ketosis was affected by drinking flower/fruit tea.

Here's one

I emailed head office to get a definitive answer on the change to the step booklet this month regarding fruit teas... Here is the reply...

Hi Jackie

Thank you for your enquiry.

Research has shown that the small amounts of citric acid present in some beverages and in a limited number of flavourings may not make a lot of difference to weight loss in clients following Cambridge Weight Plan programmes. However those at the lower dietary energy intake levels and therefore the lower carbohydrate intake levels may find that the presence or absence of small amounts of citrate (citric acid) may make a difference to their ketone levels on testing. Under these circumstances a client may choose to exclude sources of citric acid.

Cool. I have a massive NSV to share!!!!!!

Just been sorting out my room - turned in to a bit of a dumping ground of piles of clean clothes I never quite get to put away... Anyway, I turned up a pair of size 18 jeans that I had put out to stick on ebay last year - I remember trying them on at the time and not being able to get past my thighs. Anyway curiosity means I just had to try them on tonight, and they FIT! Ok, I still have a huge muffin top and would be arrested if I wore them in public, but the fact is I got them all the way on and did them up with relative ease!!!!! My current jeans are size 24's and I was bulging over the top of them before starting this diet :D Reckon it will be another 2 stone before I can wear them comfortably, but I am still dead chuffed :D

Cazza thats amazing well done!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE NSV victories they just make it all the more worthwhile!

I have had an email back from HQ and this is what it says.........
Thank you for your email.

All herbal/fruit/leaf teas are now ok to drink whilst following one of our steps, including the teas that you have listed below.

I hope this information helps, and if you need any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

So I have taken her up on her offer and emailed her back and just asked that as she put 'following one of our steps' does that include SS. Im not trying to be pedantic, but I just want to be 100% sure before I take the plunge into having them.

Thanks for getting the info aswell Lily - so it seems we 'should' be ok - but I'm just hoping its not sods law and I'm one of the ones affected by the tiny amounts of citric acid.

keep going everyone we are nearly a month in and all doing so so well!

Yey have had confirmation

Yes, that does include Sole Source. There is no real evidence to suggest that fruit or herbal teas interfere with weight loss, which is why the guidelines have been changed.

So herbal teas here I come......,
Xxc

Excellent news! Would be nice if they told the person that does the tweets then...

Cazza, well done! :woohoo: Fantastic NSV!!

Thanks! Mental morning at work this morning. Now at physio appointment which is running late for a change! Then back to the office for hell part 2!

Gosh, it's quiet around here tonight. That's the trouble with the last week in January - lots of the New Year's Resolution peeps have drifted away.

Still, I'm on day 24 and still going strong. This is the longest run of SS I've managed to do in years - no tweaks or cheats. :D Rather proud of myself. Everything's getting looser. Think I should be able to drop a jeans size in another 10 days or so. Looking forward to that - I'll be back in size 18 and I've not been that for at least a year. :)

Finally started snowing here. Wonder how much we're going to get this time?
