Nicola's Cuba Countdown

I actually was meant to go to a party on Saturday night which would involve food and copious amounts of alcohol but I was given antibiotics by the doctor last week who advised not drinking whilst on them.
I was actually quite pleased to be given them as it gave me a ready made excuse not to go. I know that sounds a bit strange to some of you but I'd rather be at home than go out and just drink soft drinks and watch what i eat.
Having said that, 2 weeks prior I went out, stayed on Gin/Tonic all night and from the buffet had 3 sushi rolls and nothing else. I'd already made WW jelly which was in the fridge waiting for me when i got home drunk. And I still lost that week.
Sorry about the Mills and Boon reference!

I was all prepared like that the other week when I went out - ate pasta before going out, stuck to vodka & diet coke all night, and had a ready made SW kebab and chips for eating when I got home - and lost that week! If only I'd been so good on Friday..... :(

Me and the scales are friends today again - the exercise, scan bran, superfree and green day obviously worked, although I'd love to know which bit exactly so I can repeat in future if necessary!! Scales say 11st 8.75lbs, 3lbs lighter than yesterday morning, phew!! :D Now just need to keep on at it so I can get even lower by weigh-in on Weds and get my Club 10, and of course, THE SHOES!! :D

Off work this week so a total lady of leisure, yay! Meeting up with a friend for lunch today, but have asked her to choose somewhere that I can find a healthy option on the menu, how good's that for a bit of forward planning?! :D

The plan...
Breakfast: WW Yogurt & Fruit
Exercise: Going to do a class or head to the gym for as much of the morning as I can
Lunch: Out, but will choose something healthy like a baked potato, salad, pasta, or meat & veg - and no pudding!!
Dinner: Leftover Chilli from the other night - depending on what I have at lunch I'll either have this with rice or a baked potato + Cheese (HEA)
Snacks: Scan Bran Biscuits (HEB + 3.5 Syns for raisins + 4 Syns for golden syrup) - will probably only eat half the batch though and have the other half of my HEB for something else, to keep the syns down

So another on-plan day as long as I stick to it... slow and steady wins the race!! :D

Hope you're all having great Mondays xxx

great loss chick!

and proof that once a week weighing is the key to a more honest reading ;) lol x

Haha I know, I know... maybe next week will be the week that I lock them away! ;)

Had "one of those mornings" today... ended up faffing around before going to gym but thought I still had enough time to get there, get showered etc and get ready in time for lunch with my friend, but got to the gym at work at 11.10, and only then did I spot the sign that the gym is closed every day from 11-12 for cleaning!!! Arrghhh! Hair was a pigsty, hadn't had a shower or anything, so couldn't go to lunch as I was... so had to go down the road to the council gym (which thankfully I'm a member of) to use their facilities instead. However, once I got there and swiped in the jobworth on the desk informed me that 1) I needed my photo taken for my pass (great timing with said birdnest of hair!) and 2) that there was no record of me having done a gym induction (which I did do when I joined) so therefore he wouldn't allow me into the gym without first doing an induction!! Ever feel like the gods are trying to tell you something?! Luckily the very nice boy in the gym could see that I clearly knew where everything was and how to use everything so let me just fill in the form rather than having a full induction, but that was another 20 mins wasted in total when I could have been exercising!!

But anyway, all's well that ends well, I managed a quick 30 mins on the bike with my book, and was only 15 mins late for my friend, a miraculous achievement! :D

Summary for today so far...

Breakfast: Totally forgot to eat it!
Exercise Part 1: Gym for 30 mins on bike
Lunch: Superfood Salad (wheat, feta, avocado, edamame, French beans, spinach, rocket, watercress, beetroot vinaigrette) with Grilled Salmon (HEA + 3 Syns for Avocado), Diet Coke, Elderflower & Lemon Tea
Snack: Banana
Exercise Part 2: Zumba (was properly motivated for it today, have never bounced so high haha!)
Dinner: Leftover Chilli from the other night
Snacks: Scan Bran Biscuits (half the batch = Half HEB + 4 Syns for raisins + golden syrup)

Summary: 1 x HEA, 0.5 x HEB, 7 Syns, 1.5 hours Exercise, lots of speed foods :D

Scan Bran "Biscuits" pic (very tasty but not really biscuits!):

Morning all!

Today I have decided that my years of morning lie-ins are over! After years of loving sleeping in til 11am on days off, it now just seems like an impossibility due to one thing or another! Today I had absolutely no plans, so would have been quite happy to lie-in, but alas, at 7am in comes my housemate after staying at her fella's house, which in turn woke up the cat who is now "on one" and refusing to sit and be happy anywhere other than my shoulder, then my housemate put on the washing machine and the radio, guaranteed to wake me, and then another early-rising friend started texting me! All of which = full on awakeness! Ah well, might start compensating with earlier nights - am getting old! :D

Weighed myself again (I know I shouldn't) and the scales are still 11st 8.75lbs... was kind of hoping to see something off after yet more exercise, speed foods, scan bran etc, but maybe it'll show by tomorrow, in time for weigh-in :) Here's hoping!

Not sure what to do with myself today, have got quite a lot of chores so might start chipping through them, and there's a Pilates class on at midday so maybe I'll have that as my lunchbreak.

Was planning an Extra Easy Day today, but not sure I fancy the fish curry I had planned for tonight, so am thinking of switching to a Green day instead to see if that helps boost my losses...

Breakfast: Yogurt, Banana
Snack: Plum (SS) - treated myself at M&S in town and was lovely and juicy!
Exercise: Pilates
Lunch: Baked Potato & Beans (SS) & Cheese (HEA + 1 Syn for McCains Baked Potato), Salad (S), Peach (S), Pineapple (S)
Snacks: Scan Bran Biscuits (Half HEB & 4 Syns)
Dinner: Butternut Squash (S) & Sweet Potato Soup
Snacks: Rocky Road HiFi Bar (Half HEB), Strawberries (SS), 40 Chocolate Fix Balls (10 Syns)

Went into M&S and came out with the gorgeous plum mentioned above, a pack of 6 ripe & ready peaches which were also delicious, and a lovely bright red pack of strawberries which smell so sweet - and best of all, I was actually craving it all! :D Maybe my taste buds are finally getting over rubbish food (but I won't be counting my chickens just yet!) :D

Summary: 1 x HEA, 1 x HEB, 15 Syns, 7 Speed Foods, 1 hour Exercise, 1 Portion Scan Bran - and everything crossed for a loss at tomorrow morning's weigh-in!!

Oh, I nearly forgot to say, the thing that's made me happiest today is that I tried on the dress I wore for my 30th (when I was feeling particularly trim and toned having been working out with a personal trainer for a few months after losing 1.5 Stone from my heaviest), and....... IT FITS AGAIN!!!! :D

On the downside, I also tried on the beautiful dress that I wore for new year's eve this year (a size 16) and it's so much too big for me that it actually fell off when I moved! :( Which is great in terms of weight loss, but devastating as the dress is sooooo beautiful that I don't want to get rid of it, I feel like a princess in it. I'm going on ebay later to see if I can find anyone selling a size 12 version to replace it instead!! :D

woo hoo...go you! :D

but i'm totally getting you on the downside....
when i started my ww journey (before i started this one lol) it was because my favourite pair of jeans didn't fit me...so i began to lose...then tried the jeans on and i'd completely missed my opportunity to wear them :( :(
bitter sweet but i wasn't amused! lol x

Oh no! That reminds me to go and try on the jeans I'm trying to fit into to see how far of I am now, I won't miss my chance!! :D

Nicola will be taking 3 stone less luggage to Las Vegas!

Oh my!! That is beautiful!

I really admire your enthusiasm with exercise. I know that when I get into going to the gym I love it and want to be there all the time, but it only ever seems to last a week or so then something crops up and before I know it a week or so has passed and I'm out of the habit of going :/ RUBBISH excuses Alison :D

I can't wait to get into the size 12 version - I'll feel even more like a princess then!! :D

Ah thanks Alison - the ongoing exercise thing is still relatively new to me but I'm loving it and how it makes me feel! I used to be awful in the mornings but now a gym session perks me right up and I'm thinking and speaking coherently from 9am, previously unheard of haha!! I was very much the same as you for years - a few weeks of hell for leather and loving it and then wouldn't return again for 3 months - but this time it just felt different for some reason - if I could put my finger on why and bottle it for all you lovely ladies I totally would xx

My gran is gonna teach me how to resize some clothes with a sewing machine next weekend :) I'm so excited to play with my baggy clothes and make them fit better! I can't bare to part with them either

Aw nice, that's a very handy thing to learn how to do as we shrink! :) I should be able to take in some of mine as I can sew and have a sewing machine here at the house, but I couldn't work out how to do it with the beautiful dress, there were too many layers and folds and pleats etc, I would have hated to ruin it... so instead I'm hoping I get the size 12 one off ebay and then I'll stick my size 16 one on there! :D x

Oh yes I think I'll have to accept my complicated pieces need to go to a new home but I'm not giving up without a fight!! I used to be good with a sewing machine back at school, I can just see myself tearing seams open and then having no idea what to do lol.

I'm actually going to try my wedding dress on soon, a friend is going to take new pictures of me in it, thought it'd be fun to try it on again two years later :)
