NSVs - Non Scale Victories

After work yesterday I fell victim to the vending machine, heh, and had some crisps and some chocolate. Doesn't sound like a NSV, right? But get this - after I'd finished (yum, I enjoyed it) I just thought 'oops, better get back on track'.... AND I DID.

Seriously, no beating myself up about it, no deciding that I'd better starve myself to make up for it, no writing off the day and stuffing my gob with more food... I feel so pleased and so proud of myself. I'm wondering if, after years of a really bad relationship with food, I might actually be turning a corner :)

well done everyone.....love Reading these

I had 2 today....
1st, a friend who moved abroad in January paid me a visit today..... Oh wow, look at you- blimey, can't beleive how much weight you've lost, you look great..... this from an old male friend who doesn't notice anything :)

The other....checked my measurements which I noted end of Jan.
3 inches off my boobs, 4 from my waist and 4 from my hips - now I know why my knickers & jeans keep slipping down lol

Awesome! The measurements one especially! I did the same and was gobsmacked at the results :)

my NSV is that the size 52 jeans I bought 3 weeks ago, which were a little snug, are now too big..
I'm going to need a new pair every month at this rate.. either that or see of they'll do a part exchange on the barely worn ones :)

If the weather was better, you could run around in just your boxers!!

I was cooking a broad bean and bacon salad last night. Streaky bacon including fat mmmmmm. I managed to 1) stick to only the amount the recipe asked for and put the rest back in the fridge 2) not pick on it while it was cooking AND 3) serve it out *equally* between the 2 plates :D

Might sound a bit anal  But in the past I would have cooked the lot, picked at it then thought 'ohhhhh this is too nice to leave' and just scoffed the lot to myself while everything else was cooking. Then I would just have served tea up pretending there was never meant to be any bacon in it anyway...

Also I won 2 of those Graze boxes and they're full of spicy nuts and all sorts of other dee-lish stuff. Normally I would scoff the lot as soon as it arrived and just pretend it never existed, but I've managed to tell myself I can have the nuts on Saturday as part of my treat day and feed the rest to the OH. It's still sitting on my table and I'm not touching it til tomorrow night. RESTRAINT!!!

:wow: I am very impressed, even with my resolve I'm not sure I could resist the nuts if they were in my house, wtg you on all your NSV's there xx

NSV for me this week was going to see the nurse for my well woman check up, not as we know the most pleasant of things to do on your day off... Anyway, got there and as usual she said hop on the scales... She checked it against last times figures then checked it again... Smiled and said, You have done well, what diet have you been following? I told her SW and she said she could do with losing some herself, and after getting the details of the class, that she'd see me there next week...

Had a similar conversation at my hospital appt on Wednesday, couldn't believe the weigh loss, how was I doing it, how did it work, then when I was outlining how it worked got told no way you can eat all that and lose weight...YES I CAN lol xx

A big one for me. I went to the next sale for children's clothes and also came away with tops for me in an 18. That's a massive NSC for me. 6 months ago I was a 24 and could never have shopped in next. :)

I am clearing out the utility room and have had enough of moving these everytime I want to get something from the freezer I was going to give them away until I looked at the dates, these have been in there since Xmas unopened and untouched!!

Absolutely, I have never been hungry once (other than when I have to fast lol), not like that with any other weight loss programme I know and I have tried them all over the many years I have been "dieting", and for me the worst was the WW points system, was always ravenous on that, always more day than there was points that's for sure. I am a night owl maybe sleeping about 4-5 hours a night, so I need to sometimes snack at 3 or 4am, love the fact I can have some free food instead of having to count points.
Don't you just hate it when they think they know it all just cos they got to be a doctor...no hun you don't know EVERYTHING...so concentrate on what you do know lol xx

A victory for me was the last few days.
I went to London for my friends birthday, and for snacks everyone was eating Pop Tarts (i'd been on holiday and bought a million flavours back).
I was so tempted, but had a mug shot instead.
The next day, we went to the cinema. They bought pop corn. I actually had some cold ready made mashed potato in my bag (for the train home). I ate that instead.

I feel like i've actually got some sort of will power now.
And, it's paid off. Lost 4lbs in my first week :)

YUCK! Mash potato makes me feel :jelous: at the best of times but cold?! sounds like my worst nightmare! lol

Well done on losing 4lbs though! :)

I actually really like cold mash, haven't had it for years, not sure why - probably 'cos I stuff it all when it's still hot lol ;-)

I used to have cold mash and salad cream sarnies .....Mmmmm

Couldn't agree more... I love the fact that people think your sinning and don't know we are winning... lol ...xx
