NSVs - Non Scale Victories

You are braver than me!!! The exercise doesn't start til 22st 6lb, zat is my deadline... I have 1 stone 1 to bury my head in the sand :D

Why put off til tomorrow what you can start today. Maybe even start it with a fast walk, slow walk in intervals to ease yourself in gently. I found the android app brilliant with it's dongs telling me when to start or stop. Scared the hell out of a dog walker mind you!
Go on Ermintrude, spoil yourself. Then maybe the 1 stone 1 will come around quicker! X

Couldn't agree more , especially of the sum's shining. It helps to keep me on track foodwise too

dh came home with a friend we havent seen for a few weeks and he told us he was very proud of us both for getting on with it and shifting the weight! he was properly surprised :D

i felt so good and i was only in a manky slouchy tee shirt and jeans!
dusting off the davina dvd today (why is it easier to re-motivate when you feel good, but harder when you really need it cos you feel pants?!)

Because I can't mentally handle it right now, it's taking enough out of me the **** I already have to deal with. One thing at a time :(

Wheee - all these exercise NSVs are very motivating (thank you!) :D

I've a couple of wee NSVs -

I had to go an buy new leggings because the ones I had on with my dress were too big and ludicrously baggy (and they were tight when I got them) and the new ones are a comfortable size 16 :D (I know it's the lycra that's doing it, doesn't mean I didn't nearly wear them inside out....).

I'm now an L at H&M instead of a "fat clothes" bit only :D (and I've found a dress in their new season range that I'm going to buy myself next payday, too :D).

AND: I'm no longer the wheezy fat one who keeps asking everyone to slow down because I can't keep up. In fact, my normal walking speed's sped up so much that I'm the one that needs to be slowed down :D (I just keep thinking about the bags our consultant brought in with a half stone and a stone in them... they're HEAVY and I had nearly 4 of those strung about me... no wonder I found walking such hard work. Once I lose the next nearly 4 I suspect I'll need to be tied to the ground so I don't float away! :D)

I didn't realise that clothes with lycra in them could be baggy until I started SW :D

My family all went for one of those professional photography thingys in Feb, the photos were gorgeous and they arrived in May. My mum put them up in the living room on the weekend and they look really nice BUT I looked at them and thought 'wow, I'm sure when I first saw them I didn't look that huge in those' and then worked out I'm a whole stone and half lighter (15lbs lost via slimming world) made me feel so good and am now looking forward to using the voucher for professional photos my brother bought me for Christmas last year :)

In your own time then Ermintrude, but you can rest assured, when you're ready we'll all be here with the support. :)

I found a lovely pair of fuchsia capri pants in M&S. They didn't have my size or the next size down so I got the next size (8!!!). I thought I would buy them and use them as motivation!

Got them home, looked at them for a few days and then dared to try them on. I could do them up!!! Admittedly I wouldn't be able to sit down in them, and there was a bit of an overhang issue but that was not the point!!!

Please don't anyone disillusion me by saying M&S sizes are really generous! J

M&s are notorious for coming up small :D

This might not seem like a NSV to most people, but to me and Kev it did... Before starting SW we both used to take a lot of supplements ie, cod liver oil, zinc etc to keep colds at bay and our joints supple... If we knocked them off for longer than a week, we could tell, we would both get colds, or start to stiffen up (poor old gits!) We cleaned the medical cabinet out yesterday and realised we hadn't taken any since early may... Neither of us have suffered, and that's got to be down to our change of diet...

Amazing what good diet can do- fab, congrats :D

I actually had an interesting NSV, related to my OH. I have lost 10lbs in 5 weeks, and he can see how happy I am that SW is doing the trick. I did WW before and failed miserably. The other day he said to me "Well done, I'm proud of you for sticking at it this time." That meant a lot :)
Also, I explained the 1 syn= 20 kcals rule, so when we go around Morrisons he always tries to be helpful by saying "ooh, this chocolate mousse is only XYZ calories, so thats XYZ syns...that would be ok wouldn't it?" Bless him.
I see it as an NSV because it means I know I can have his full support :) x

My hubby turned down an offer of free KFC yesterday (by a friend not me) on the basis that the calories just weren't worth it.
SW has managed to achieve in 6 months what I have failed in 10 years to achieve - get him to understand that no matter how nice some food is, sometimes its still not worth it!

I would love to have the same effect on OH. Despite his support for me, he did sit on the sofa and eat a WHOLE 500ml tub of Ben and Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew ice cream.
Something like 50+syns. I was saintly and ate strawberries ;)

I managed to finally get hubby interested in weight loss. Not that he's got a lot to lose cos he's a bean pole but he has got a bit of a pot belly. The trouble is he's getting a bit obsessive about it. Lol !
