I just got back from the gym and my neighbour said 'you're wasting away' yay!!

And I measured myself this morning and since the start of my weight loss journey I have lost 12.5 inches off my stomach :) yay!!

That is amazing. You should be so proud of yourself :)

afternoon all - great NSVs again everyone..

Well my latest is that after 3 attempts to find the local swimming pool -finally finding it and going yesterday for the 6:30am fitness swim (to find that the times have changed because of the holidays ), me n hubby went again today and god it was busy -anyway, me and my tankini made it into the water, I swear they couldn't have made you walk further from the changing rooms to the pool if they tried .
I used to swim when I lost weight moons ago -I used to do 120 lengths a time..well I haven't been swimming in over 11 years so I wasn't expecting miracles -but I did do 60 lengths, so now I intend to icrease it by 10 lengths a time.

I didn't even care that I was getting odd looks as I was the only one doing front crawl and backstroke *as well as breast stroke* - everyone else was doing the good ole "breast stroke whilst keeping their hair n face dry". We really enjoyed it and are hoping to go again on Friday... I just can't wait until Im slim/toned enough to get a really good speedo racer back "proper" swimsuit

I can only do breast stroke, not bothered about getting my hair or face wet though. Just got back from swimming, it was so busy and cos there was two of us we just couldn't do lengths so did lots of widths without stopping.

I was running late today and I ran up the huge flight of stairs at my gym today, I wasnt even out of breath, when I started going to the gym at the end of january I would be puffing from walking very slowly up them

Breast stroke is my worst stroke -I can do the legs and I can do the arms but boy do I get in a muddle doing the 2 together :p
Back stroke is my fave, strangely enough hubby can't do it -he reckons he can't get his arms to go right around -they come out to the sides

I spent a lot of time swimming around people too this morning -ah well I guess its more cals burnt :p

I can't do breast stroke legs so usually I do the arms then just kick my legs. I used to be able to do the legs but somewhere along the way its got really confuzzled in my head and I just can't get the co-ordination.

Well done on the 60 lengths hun - that's fabulous! :D

As for the swimming costume...have you looked at the Speedo Hydrasuit?

That's the one I've got, and it keeps everything firmly in place (I have a fear of exposing myself mid-swim!)

I have this one too its ace, in fact it is already donned as I am going swimming in 20mins....:D

My latest NSV is that I spent half an hour last night sewing two darts into the fronts of two pairs of shorts because they were too big! Yay!

Yay indeed! Go you! I loved doing that when I first lost weight. But there were some clothes I just had to ditch cos no amount of darts would ever have made them fit. Sadly, the only solution was to buy more clothes :D

I'm sorry - I am an absolute muppet when it comes to sewing etc, what are darts?

(Not sure if is a NSV or a scale one)

I'm now in obese category 1 from starting as morbidly obese:D

wtg either way Frankied xx
If I wasn't so tired I'd be sure, but brain is frazzled, but I think that's a scale victory, but doesn't matter you shout it from the roof tops any where you like hun, fantastic job xx

i have saggy boobs and stretch marks on my body, but i can feel my muscles developing around my abs and everywhere else. my hang ups about my wobbly bits still get me down because losing weight doesn't fix everything BUT being a few lbs to target when this time last year i was in the upper obese category has made me realise how important it is to be healthy, its good for the body and good for our minds too. i feel great, and my insecurities don't seem so bad these days :)

Sadly right?? Oh yeah, I bet sadly! Lol!!

darts may be the best option. Is it basically a neat way of gathering and bringing in the material? As I said, I'm in no way 'textile-minded'. Lol
Yes, only darts lie flat, unlike pleats or gathers to give a smooth shape. They're usually found underneath or on the waistband on skirts/trousers to bring them in at the waist and in the front of fitted blouses to give shape over the bust.
