Oh to be a consistent Target Member!!

Oh and of course charity shops I love a good rummage !

That sounded very hard on both your parents. Like you said, somehow all things worked out though. My mum raised 4 children on her own when it wasn't fashionable to be a single parent...1950s. She worked a lot and it was chaos at home with my bullying brother and us 3 girls. I was the oldest girl so much was expected of me of course. Glad you had lots of love...I completely missed out on that one I'm afraid. I really tried hard to not repeat that pattern of parenting with my two. And thankfully they are very close and really care about each other.
Ah yes...charity shops are a wonderful source of bargains, especially if the town is quite an affluent one. The things I buy I call 'my latest acquisitions' lol.
I got several skirts during the summer, a nice small handbag and a couple of weeks ago a nice needlecord M&S skirt for £4.99!

I am also the oldest and my sister is 2.5 years younger then me so I had a lot of pressure as the eldest.

She lives about 300 miles away so we only see each other once or twice a year. She has two sons 8 and 13.

That must have been terribly difficult for you

I only buy certain brands in charity shops - Marks Next Monsoon if I'm lucky George F&F (Tesco) Wallis Matalan etc but never atmosphere (Primark) as it's usually more expensive !!

That's a shame your sister lives so far away but having said that I don't see my two sisters very often and they live in the same town as me.
I agree about the brands but mostly if it's what I like I'd buy it. Some shops charge far too much though and I wouldn't pay the price. We don't have a Primark in my town so I don't shop there or know what they sell.
Recently I was looking for some 84" length curtains and was delighted when I found a pair. The assistant measured one and so I bought the pair. When I got home I found they were the same pattern but different lengths...I was gutted! Had to get a refund. The shop reckons that someone switched them so they got a one long (maybe for a patio door) and a shorter one. A couple of weeks ago in the same shop I found another pair so happy about that - £7.75. Another shop I looked in wanted £25!! no way!!
