"Plump Polly".....golden oldie..........Newbie

Wondering if morning or evening weigh in.

Syns - I have always been told to try and have at least 5 so there is room to cut back when near to target. What does Pommette think?

Thank you Cavegirl...I came on this morning to do my ticker, and have only just got back, am sorry I didn't see your post. . I lost 2lbs this week, (morning WI Doreen) and realised another 2 lbs and I'm halfway to my BIG target. Also got the fruit basket, but it was by default as the SOTW didn't stay to group, and I was runner up. Felt a bit mean really because I wasn't entitled to it really.
Well I put parts of my diary on some weeks back and Bev and others have said I seem to be doing a bit of each plan! I always struggle with the syns part because I don't have what I call "treats", as in chocolate etc. I've been overweight for so many years and I'm just so determined, but I'm not depriving myself of anything I want, not really, I just substitute, I like salad cream on my salads, and I like decent gravy. I have a drink on a Thursday evening, 1 if I'm driving, but maybe 2 if I'm not (I play darts) I also have the buffet. That's like a whole days syns or a few more usually, but I get weighed Thursday morning, and darts is Thursday evening, so whatever I have I've got a week to sort it.
I usually have one good week, and then one not so good, but they're all good really because I've lost every week apart from 1 and I STS...but I have such a lot to lose, I don't want to go off track if I can help it. xx

Well done Polly - another 2lbs is fantastic and being almost half-way to BIG target is just as fabntsatic!

Pommette says have the whole blumin' 15 at the mo. Then you can cut back to 10 or even 5 if you need to.
Strangely, I found I could keep to 15 all the while I was losing thankfully.
Otherwise where would I have been without my glass of wine (or 3) :8855:

Not sure exactly how or why though, but I did lost very slowly. About half a pound a week.
But it has meant that I've found it much easier to keep the weight off than many other peeps.
Maintaining seems to be a real struggle for a lot of people that lose a lot of weight very quickly.
It's depressing when it goes slowly - but as I said far easier to maintain.
OK I'm actually 7 lbs up on target at the mo - but I can cope with that, and I've been round about target now since Nov 2011

Yes Bev but what you've had to contend with the last few months, I'm surprised to didn't just say s*d it and scoff everything in sight, especially if you were a comfort eater.
I know I would LIKE to lose big amounts, but I'm resigned to the fact "it ain't gonna happen" BUT, I'm comfortable with losing it as I do. The thing is, I'm enjoying it STILL, and it's 4 months down the line. I won't let myself get disheartened, well ATM there's no need......I had some oven chips yesterday, (had my Granddaughter for the weekend) thought I'd blown it for the day, but no fat or oil anywhere, so really just like baked pots! (Hopefully anyway) trying to introduce a bit more fish into my diet, so going to do a bit of research. Only fish I usually have is smoked haddock with (quite a lot of) butter!!...Did it last week with NO butter and just veg and tinned toms, and it was delicious, so not hardship to have some more.
OH when I won the fruit, our group leader said the SOTW was a visitor from another group, so I won it fair and square! x
:)

Grand total of 1/2lb this week...dunno why...but at least it's off and not on x

Shouldn't have had eggs! lolol! Hopefully next week will make up for this one. I get disappointed when so many ladies at group have so many naughties, and still manage to lose more than me...I think my poor old body is really slowing down! lol xx

Polly - all sorts of things can affect an individual WI.
If you go to class in the evening then what you've had during the day is the biggest factor. It's hard to make sure
Did you have lots of carbs before WI, Did you have a drink just before WI, have you been drinking enough for the days before and err . . . had you "been" recently. And last but not least, did you have heavier clothes on.

Half off is half off - and losing it slowly means you stand a better chance of keeping it off long term.

Well done though - things are still going downwards.
I don't think you've had a gain or even a sts yet have you? That's brilliant!

Hi Cavegirl and Bev, I wished you well yesterday (Bev) , (party chick!! lol) I thought you were disappearing for 10 days! ?

Nope, apart from a sausage roll that shocked me rigid the day before (Greggs..21 syns)( met a friend and took our dogs for a play date and she bought "lunch" and I said I didn't want it, but she'd cooked them especially for us, so couldn't really refuse) I haven't had anything, even my syns for the week were below including the sausage roll so ???
Same clothes etc etc...but the downside was no I hadn't "been" in fact that was probably the problem because I had a ham and egg salad (damned eggs again! always stop me) I'm 1.5 lbs down today..... after I "went" lolol!
Not disheartened though, I'm still obsessed with losing it. I STS one week, have lost all the others. Our group is early morning (thank heavens) but sometimes too early for my body to work!
I have to say I don't even really think about what I'm going to eat or snack on anymore....am just glad my brain has switched off to temptation (99% of the time!) xx

Hi there LJ , nice to see you. Still going down, slow but sure, how about you? x

Good to hear, you are waaay ahead of me now though! well done :) I remember you saying you wanted to be in the 13's. I gained everything I lost last time around. Back now though, not letting problems get the better of me x

Hi L J, I just replied to you on another thread. I saw your goal date was the same as mine, I'm aiming for 11 stones by next July, but I was almost 16 when I started in June, on here that is, I joined SW the last week in May.
Life just gets in the way sometimes, or throws obstacles at us, and we get a bit of a downside, but we just have to climb back on the wagon and go for it. Looking forward to chatting in the coming months. Good luck xx

Well another 1.5 down today...getting there! The woman who sat next to me lost 4.5....and refuses to do it over the weekend!! She does Monday-Thursday (and we WI before 10.00am Thursday morning! .....would love to know how she does it! Good luck for you too x

Hi CG, well I wondered too, but then she said she'd been doing SW for almost 20 years, losing it and coming back! She must have more money than sense. She told us what she had over the weekend, and all I thought was no wonder she's crept back up to over 17 stones!Still each to their own, she laughed about it, so...... xx

Well just saying Hi, to all, have my Grandies for a long weekend, and have to confess to giving in to a little tempatation, just hope I haven't overdone it...Thursday will tell.
Hope everyone is doing ok x

Morning Polly, not been looking for a while. Been putting my diaries on but not much else.
Glad your getting on ok.

I always find I have some naughties when I go to babysit the grandkids. Not gonna be going so often now as Son & DIL shifts have been changed and other arrangements have had to be made. They live 60miles away now so not easy just to `pop`. Not so bad when they come here for some reason. Just as well they will be here most of the half term while Mum is at work down this way and Son 60miles the other way. Lookingforward to it tho`.

Reading what pomette has said about syns, I may have a couple more, don`t always have them and it may stop me bingingon occasions.

Will carry on looking if that is ok. x
