NON SW FRIENDLY FOOD COMING UP, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE TEMPTED LOOK AWAY NOW!!!!

Got my first genuine pregnancy craving this morning and there was no stopping me :D
Pancakes with maple syrup with scrambled eggs and bacon. You could SW-ise it if you're really determined by synning the pancakes and using lean bacon and eggs we know are free anyway. The entire pancake recipe is 46 syns (if you use skimmed milk) and it makes 8 so each pancake is about 8 syns (yikes!)

yummy

I am having really bad cravings for Ready Brek, it is so weird as I haven't had it for years, and the big problem is, you can't get it here in Canada.

I have been hoping the craving will go away, but nope every day I want it more. So think I am going to have to resort to hubby ordering me some online lol.

surely ready break is just porrige oats put into a blender / grinder to make it finer and absorb the milk / water faster??? try that.. see if it works.. :)

LOL!! All these weird cravings! I felt like I was missing out not having any and now with just DAYS to go before having my baby, the cravings kick in!

Britmum, ColJack's suggestion is worth a try! If your craving gets really strong I can post some ready brek to you! Just PM me your address lol. I have lots of friends in the States and we're always sending each other American and British goodies back and forth :D

Theoretically that would be a healthier option.

But unfortunately it isnt the same and when a pregnant women craves something in particular all healthiness can go out the window. Ready brek definately has it's own taste and when a pregnant women has to have a certain thing, only that thing will do.

Hubby has found a website in Canada selling British foods, so is going to order me some from there.

I have tried just normal porridge, but it isnt working to get rid of the craving.

That looks lovely, how did you make it?

i know,i couldent do it now lol,i can actually remember being in labour chewing one.midwifes must of thought i was barmy.my other craving were icecubes and full fat milk,so not to bad.

My sister wanted to eat chalk! BIL actually caught her with a box once, just staring at the sticks... we tried suggesting icing sugar, flour, those candy sticks we used to eat as kids... but no! The woman wanted to eat chalk!

Mine was ice, H had to buy me the 2kg bags as doing it myself wasn't quick enough & not enough. I'd crunch through at least half the bag a night....I'd actually get the shakes & anxious if I knew I was running low...

With my son it was cornflakes with ice cold milk...

Just some of my yummy food. From valentines biscuits to salmon with mustard mayo xx
