Help - those of you who regularly photograph your food..... do you have any tips ???? I have a food setting on the best shot selection on my camera which I think would help but do you have any tips for getting a great photo ?

Thanks so much for contributing to this thread - I love it and its so much more inspiring to see actual food rather than lists :)

Thaks Britmum! I do love a steak but I don't eat it very often. I only ever seem to crave it when I'm on my period, which I've been this week. Sometimes only a juicy sirloin will do.

Gobolino, I just use my iphone to take pics unfortunately lol. I really want a lovely high tech camera.... Still thinking about it. Everytime I decide to buy one I always get distracted by a gorgeous handbag!!

Here's what I had for dinner! Grilled seabream with stirfried veggies. I put some peach chutney in the veggies so it tasted slightly sweet and tangy like a sweet & sour dish. It was lovely!

I had to take a closeup!

And dessert was a 2% greek yogurt with a sachet of options hot choc powder stirred in.... Today was a good food day :D

Wow Honey - I think your phone does fab pictures, keep the savings for your next handbag :) I'll keep spying on this thread until such a time that I manage to download some foodie pictures of my own onto the computer. I image that photographing your food does become addictive !

hubby takes my pics, so I can't take credit for that (we have a digital slr). I do all the cooking though. :D.

some more foodies for you

Ginger and Garlic Prawns with Noodles

Spicy Lentils and Spinach

love the new picture Britmum and pat on the back to hubby for the great pictures of your food. Are you able to change the lenses on your camera? I am saving up for an slr, will take ages but it is something I have wanted for a while.

yep we have 3 different lenses for the camera lol. He tends to use the same one now though for my foodies pics. You can't zoom in with it, as it is a fixed lense, but it does great bokeh photo's

Potato Gratin

Lebanese Chicken (which I served with the potato gratin above and asparagus, one of the tastiest meals I have had in ages and that includes all the naughty rubbish I ate over christmas)

ooh britmum that looks gorgeous! can you post the recipe for us xx

Lunch.jpg

This was my lunch yesterday - it looked so scrummy I had to take a photo!

I had 3 Finn Crisp original crispbreads (hexb) with quark blitzed with smoked salmon, topped with more smoked salmon. Also a yummy salad including beetroot, peppers and pickled onions sprayed with the frylight balsamic salad dressing stuff. Oh, and a dollop (1tbsp) of extra light mayo for half a syn!It was yum.:D

Hey - your hubby is a good photographer Britmum, and you're a good cook - great combination :)

Here is the minestrone soup I made for tea tonight and lunch tomorrow. Not a recipe as such, just made it for the size of pot I had.

Diced carrot and neeps, sliced leeks, crushed garlic clove(v fat one), sauted in fry light till softened, added lean smoky bacon(optional), some 1/4rd sprouts lurking in the fridge, a tin chopped tomatoes and ham stock till the pot was full, brought to the boil and simmered for 10 mins. Then added shredded savoy cabbage and simmered for 10 mins before I added some mini pasta shapes and cooked for another 5 mins, check seasoning and serve. Some fresh herbs would be nice added at the end it was a really hearty meal and am having the rest for lunch tomorrow.
