Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

We've got numerous beds for bubs. We've got a Moses for downstairs, a crib for our bedroom and a cot for the nursery. Don't know where we're gonna put them all once bubs has grown out of them haha xx

I wish I had the room! Moses basket will be going straight back to my mums as then cot will be going in storage at my sisters thankfully! There really isn't enough room to swing a cat here! X

We're thinking Moses basket in our room for 6 months then into his own room.

We've got quite a long list of names that changes a lot! I've heard from a lot of people once the baby is here it's a lot easier to name them so we're not worrying too much. :p

Just to join in... ;)

I'm 23, hubby is 29 and we fell pregnant in our 6th month of trying x I want at least 3, where as hubby is thinking 2...I'll get my way though lol :D I've always wanted a big family so 3 at the very least :) All close together in age as well. I'm the youngest of 3 girls and there's quite a big age gap x my sister Hannah is 35, Laura is 32 and then there's me at 23 lol it doesn't bother me in the slightest now because the age gap has "closed" - we're all married with children (well, mine's on the way ;) ) so lots in common. Where as when I was younger I hated it. I was all on my own while they went out together with their friends and boyfriends and I used to cry after them when they walked out the door :( was horrible lol x So I've said to John I'd like to start trying for our 2nd when our 1st is almost a year old and the same with our 3rd, so they are all very close xx

Names: If the sonographer is right and we're having a baby girl, she will be Amelia Rose, but if she was wrong and we're having a little dude, he will be Jack Thomas. :)

RE sleeping arrangements: Bubs will be in her moses basket until 6 months (or maybe before if she gets too big) and will then move to her cot in her little bedroom :) xx

Aww I love Jack but one of DH's close friends is called Jack.

We're thinking 2 and to start trying once our first is around 1. It happened straight away for us this time round but you never know for the next time!

My hubby has said we can only have this one as I've been a right moody sod lol x

It does feel like a lifetime! I'm a strong believer in fate though and that things are sent to is when they are meant to be :) Time flies you will be at my point before you know it, I'm still worried though probably more so now I know we are having a girl and we've named her and bonded with her, But then I'm a natural worrier anyway and she's probably just fine in there laughing at her silly old mum for getting worked up again! X

Yeh I also believe in what's meant to be will be. Awe a beautiful little girl u can dress up :) I always thought I wanted a girl but when u try for so long u really don't care as long as it's healthy! Good luck in your pregnancy too, she sounds like she is coming on just fine :) xx

It's a bit blurry sorry! X

It sounds like the majority of us girls are over 30 on here. Which is nice cos I was kind of scared getting pregnant in my 30's ( thinking I was past it) I'm 32 , will be 33 when the little ones here. I always wanted two but I'll be happy with one xx

I always thought I'd have my family by 30 because I met my ex hubby at 18 but I'm glad I didn't have them with him. I know a hell of a lot of people having babies in their 30's, I don't think we're the minority anymore. Xx

I have just been speaking to the midwife and I've got a scan booked in on tue. I'll just b over 6 wk's. I had a few concerns cos I had a stomach operation a few yes back that left a lot of scar tissue. Anyway at least I will know it's where it should be. Happy about that :) xx

That's good news, I had a 6+2 scan and she was a teeny blob on the screen! Hope all goes well :) xx

Did u hear a heartbeat? Xx

Hi I am just joining this thread if that's ok. I'm pregnant but early days for me. 5 wk and 3 days and. Counting lol! It's going so so slow. I have booked in for a private scan at 8 wk's to break it up n just to check everything's going as it should. It's lovely hearing all u girlies talk about ur pregnancies, I can't wait till I'm further along n have a little bump :) xx

Congratulations and welcome!!! So exciting for you, hope your little bean is a sticky one! Seems like only yesterday we were all at those early stages, so i am sure time will fly (even if it doesn't feel like it for you!). x

I didn't hear it but I could see it fluttering away, I was told if I didn't see it not to panic as it was still early days and I would have to come back the following week x

Thanks :) I hope it sticks too! I'm trying to think positive. Negative thoughts are no good xx

New question. Well, more a general consensus kind of thing....

When are you all putting your babies in their own rooms? I was thinking about July time which will be 6 months so it's used to it by the time I go back to work and me and Tom get our time together.
Absolute earliest will be at 6 months old.. I've been advised by a friend (who's a baby nurse) that new babies can forget to breath as they follow the mothers breathing/HB pattern.. So its not recommended to put them out sooner...
Saying that... My brother put his boys into their own room from the day they came home from hospital and they're great sleepers now (well, they're teens now but meant they were great from very early on.. They literally went to bed and you didn't hear from them til the next morning)... AND... When you put baby to bed, they're not with you and can't follow your HB so I don't really understand it... But that'll be the very earliest I put her in her own room... Tho I can see baby being allot older than if I get my way...

So exciting :) I had a scan at 7 weeks and could see and hear heartbeat, think it depends on the position xx

I had a scan at 5 weeks but they couldn't see anything with the "normal" scanner thing.. So had to be an internal.. As I having due to having sharp pains in/on/around my ovary they had to do it to check it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy...
The internal (and a full bladder) showed my bubs little HB beating away.. SO fast..
Then at my 7 week scan (and a full bladder) they got it with the normal scanner.. And I got to hear the HB.. Not everyone does that early (aparently)

I didn't think baby would fit in her moses basket as long as 6 months???
