Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

Lush are brill for doing little things like that ;) I used to love treating our regulars when I worked there, it was always one of the highlights. That and the hefty discount of course, I really do miss that :( I had a bit of the Halloween bubble bath this morning, the pumpkin shaped one. Smelled gorgeous! The massage bars are wonderful for pregnancy - I really must use mine more. The one I have is called Therapy and it's v gentle, suitable for babies as well so I plan to use it on little dude too once he's here! It's a really relaxing smell and much better for their skin than baby oil xxx

Mine was the pumpkin one too. I had a lovely bright orange bath!! I'm not sure what my massage bar is, I'll have to have a look. It smells amazing though xxx

The bubble baths are great as you only need half at a time, or a quarter in the case of the large swirly ones. The bath bombs often don't work right if you break them in half so they're one use only.

Let me know which one it is - they have pretty much been the same for years, some of the ranges don't change that much and the massage bars are one of them. Therapy is my fave but I love Soft Cour too which smells of honey and chocolate <3

If you (or Tom) find yourself in there before baby comes get them to give you a sample of dream cream - it's a delicate skin friendly cream that's oatmilk and cocoa butter based with a decent bit of lavender. We had a lot of eczema sufferers who swore by it. It's good for mummies, babies, sunburn, nappy rash, fresh tattoos, sensitive skin, all sorts! Just generally worth keeping in for family use. :) I wish they still did the rose powder, we had a few ladies who used that instead of talc on their babies. Smelled much nicer too! ;)

If you've not had morning sickness before now, can it kick in at 18 weeks? :-/

Oh no! I know someone who started with ms at 16 weeks and some people have it all the way through :( I guess anything is possible? Check with your doctor though just to make sure it is ms and not a bug or something. Hope you're feeling better soon and it passes quickly xxx

I'm awaiting the MW to call me back so I'll ask her when she does, I've just read somewhere about possibly being lack of protein, so I'll up that today and see if it makes any difference xx

Not heard that one but anythings worth a go when you feel poorly. I know that I always felt way sicker if I'd not eaten much (not eating enough still makes me go a bit weird!), toast and crisps always seemed to cure it for me xxx

We are allowed runny eggs when BF aren't we?? Or is it same rules apply as when pregnant??? I think I will cry if I can't have a runny egg soon

Just had a look at my massage bar and it's also the Therapy one. Clearly we have good taste ;) and it's good to know it's recommended by someone who loves Lush as much as you do xx

Mmmmm runny yolk, although I did read that runny yolk was ok as long as they had the lion stamp, I don't think I want to risk it though, my first meal I want is boiled eggs and soldiers, Pete is under strict instructions once this baby pops out he needs to find me one lol xx

Hmm... We don't get a lions stamp but am guessing that's the equivalent of our Bord Bia stamp?? Meaning its quality approved???
Am not sure I'd risk it either TBH... I'd be feeling brave while it was cooking but when it came to eating I'd bottle it.. LOL
I done that a few weeks ago in Costa.. Someone had said they got a 2013 leaflet from NHS saying coffee/caffeine was OK in pregnancy and I was out shopping later than day.. Past Costa and decided I'd have a much longer for Cappuccino.. Went in.. Stood in the Q for about 15 mins.. When it came to turn to order as sure and excited as I was... I asked for a hot chocolate instead.. LOL

When I first found out I was pregnant I made sure all my eggs were hard. But now I let them be a little bit soft. I wouldn't say they were runny but they're definitely not hard. I always get a decaf when I go to Costa. I can't tell a difference in taste.

I are runny eggs maybe 3-4 times after getting to about 16 weeks preg. I looked it up and it was more to do with it giving u an upset tummy so I just made sure they were fresh xx

I only learned last week that Starbucks do decaff cappuccinos!!!!!! Took me to 25 weeks of DYING for a cappuccino to find that out... I knew they done decaf other drinks.. But chanced my arm last week asking for my skinniccino in decaf.. If they couldn't do it I'd have got a hot choc... No difference at all in taste IMO...
But the decaff capp you buy for making them at home isn't the same at all... I bought the decaff nescafe ones and they aren't very nice.. Whereas the "normal" nescafe comes are yumilicious.. :D

I think its fine TBH its just a precaution in case there's samonella in...
But in my 31 years of eating eggs I've never had a problem... :D
